It's obviously a more important/costly issue for some than others though as we've all been affected differently, so there's certainly no need for personal insults if people do feel differently, although I do admit to previously feeling a little agitated when group action and compensation was voiced by a poster yesterday, as I do think that's over the top.

I have already apologised for what was probably a knee-jerk reaction........however,when you reprimanded me you were actually incorrect in suggesting none of the points I raised had been mentioned before.... eg how could KE still be telling us last Tuesday/Wednesday all was fine and stable if they were actually insolvent ?("Trevor".. posted about that several days earlier},and the same question has been asked again since. My point about a continual flow of conflicting information has been shared by many....even now Martin's daily update tells us the missing funds are going back to KE!!
I have also seen plenty of posts asking about lost interest...in the case of CHAPS transfers,(not mine,I know) this could be more substantial in that it's supposed to have gone the same day......... and I wondered,(like others, not just me),if anyone such as a clearing bank had actually profitted from this.

With regard to group action,as I have already explained,I was merely saying if we do have any cause for complaint,it might be better to make one as a united front. This had also been suggested by at least one other previous poster I saw,so could I ask please that you refrain from suggesting that I am the only one who feels the whole thing might have been better handled?

    Ah, another one.

Would love to be on this forum if Cameron and Osborne were running the show in this crisis.

You haven't got a clue how lucky you are.

So would I. Problem being that if Cameron and Osborne were running the show we wouldn't be in this mess. They actually understand economics - unlike every Labour politician that has ever existed. Anybody ever heard of reducing borrowing during the boom time to allow for increased borrowing during slow down and bust ? Sadly for us, Labour clearly didn't.

no, you dont understand, under Brown there is NOOO boom and bust.

    :T
  • You honestly think Osborne has got a better understanding of economics than Gordon Brown?

We would be in an even worse mess if the Tories had been in power for the last few years: even less regulation, even bigger City bonuses, all Davey and Georgie's Eton/Oxbridge mates sailing off into the sunset while you and I fight for our money.
  • I wish people would stop going on about the missing interest and other secondary issues.

Just adds fuel to the fire for those who think we were greedy, money-grabbing little !!!!!!!s in the first place.

ALL WE WANT IS THE MONEY BACK. THEY CAN KEEP THE INTEREST.

If you got home and found your house burning, all you would care about is getting your kids out, not worrying about the sofa.

    Get some perspective.

Last week, we could have been staring down a very deep abyss. Now, it looks like our life savings are not lost.
I have lost £600 so far in lost interest, I don't intend to give anyone that sort of money without a fight - WOULD YOU?????????????

If I remember correctly love, you had a huge amount of savings with KE.

I've been foolish as well putting most of my money with IceSave and KE, but not all of it and not above £35K with either.

If you've stashed everything away with IceSave - well above the £50K - then I don't any sympathy with your interest rate plight.

Just be thankful you're getting back the excess over £50K when the govt has no obligation legally speaking to help you out.

Only a moral obligation - whcih it has met.

This time last week you were on the verge of selling the Big Issue and turning to crack.

Now you are on the verge of getting your money back.

£600 - forget about it until the dust settles.

I'm happy to wait till everyone has received their Capital before addressing the issue of lost interest or CHAPS fees, but I will certainely pursue this.

That said, I respect those posters who aren't bothered about getting their lost interest paid and I'd urge you to contact ING and insist they don't credit this to your account.
