    I have quite a large chunk of wonga that’s disappeared into the ether and am very annoyed that I paid for a CHAPS transfer, which has not been humoured but let’s get it into perspective;

    There is obviously is a delay due to the volume of traffic ad the swift takeover by ING, these things would normally take months to complete. If it was being processed by computers alone, it would only take minutes to complete but I imagine a human being is checking each transaction, thank god for that, otherwise widespread fraud could be taking place.

    If all else fails, you are covered up to £50,000 by the FSCS.

    So, let’s hang in there and have a group hug. :grouphug:

    A watch pot never boils, checking your accounts every 15 minutes, won't improve your chances!

    I'm 99% sure the money will all arrive in all our accounts by the end of this week, the people who did BACS probably will wait longer, than the CHAPS, but if by Fri people still don't have their money then we can contact ING and chase it up more.

    PS it's the FSCS not BSCS...
  • I did a BACS on Tuesday- still not arrived yet but i am not concerened. We're in safe hands guys :T

    When the money turns up, which I have no doubt that it will having followed this whole affair, how will we go about recovering lost interest earned ??

    Why not just be thankful that you’ve got you money back !!
  • I wish people would stop going on about the missing interest and other secondary issues.

    Just adds fuel to the fire for those who think we were greedy, money-grabbing little !!!!!!!s in the first place.

    ALL WE WANT IS THE MONEY BACK. THEY CAN KEEP THE INTEREST.

    If you got home and found your house burning, all you would care about is getting your kids out, not worrying about the sofa.

    Get some perspective.

    Last week, we could have been staring down a very deep abyss. Now, it looks like our life savings are not lost.

    I haven't got my money back yet. Its not the point. Everyone has a right to missing interest earned.

    Am I missing something here: why has every transaction had to go back to steam-age manual processing? My withdrawal from a KE account on 9 October was allocated a transaction number and confirmed on screen, and later a debit appeared in my account. All done by computer! (I'm still waiting, by the way.)

    There's another reason for the phasing of these withdrawals, surely: it's to do with grand finance rather than over-worked staff, I believe.

    What an absolute stupid comparison!
