had a lovely day off yesterday, met with some friends, had lunch. Did some food shopping on way home. Not sure what we are going to eat because I just picked out all the special offers at the meat counter in Sainsburys. got mince, nice sausages, chicken and pork chops. So will give it some thought now what I will turn that little lot in to.

sounds extremely wet out there. Haven't looked out yet, but the noise of it battering against the window makes me want to stay curled up here, but I have to go to work :(

hope everyone has a good day.

    Morning all,

Wet and windy here today  , still have wet washing hanging around trying to get it dry, the rain is set in for the day I think.

Kathy, Before I forget, yesterday we had a lamb mince platt, like a giant sausage roll, I mixed the mince with an egg and a chopped onion, and put it on a pasty base, and platted the pastry over the top, an Idea for your sausage meat perhaps  it was delish.

We have chicken pie tonight, but I need to nip up to the shop and get potatoes and some veg, we have run out. Not sure what I am up to today, will do the usual tidy through, and clean up, I may have a friend coming over for coffee, and I am sure I will fit a game of scrabble in somewhere :D

Need to try and get little dog out for a run, she had a very quick walk yesterday, due to the rain, neither of us like walking in the rain  , but she is a bit manic at the moment, and needs a good run.

    Hugs to Marie and Ulick.

Candy, pen pin, beth'd DB's, and all in need.

    Have good days all xx
  • Morning all,

horrible here too - heard the rain pouring down at some point. Didn't sleep very well, so am shattered already - think it's "first day back" nerves (although I don't actually feel nervous?). Had one cuppa, must go & get another and get moving in a minute but the temptation to stay in bed is very strong....:)

Haribo, what can I say :D :rotfl: Hopefully that man will learn to underestimates ages from now on....
Floss, hope the cats get rehomed ok as well - my two who I got from a rescue centre a couple of months ago feel like they've been with us forever now. There are people out there for them somewhere hopefully.
    N9eav - use a hairdryer?!?
Mioliere, ok thanks for that, I thought it wouldn't probably be speedy but I'll drop them a line just as a reminder.
Jet77, how annoying when you've got arrangements made - she could have at least sent you a text or something :(
Celyn, you're nearly there now...!! Hope you've got some treats lined up for the weekend?!
Whatatwit, hope your FIL starts to improve soon. I was thinking it was all quiet in Aussie-land too!!
Redruby, mmm, that mince plait sounds lovely - did you use puff or shortcrust pastry??

Right, just spotted the time, really seriously need to get up & moving now!! A whole day of research methods lectures... nice!!! Will be great to catch up with (most of) the rest of the group who I haven't seen since June.
    Have a good day all!

    Morning all

Just a quickie as I have DGD today, so having a quick cup of tea and a piece of toast, then I have to dash.

Lovely day yesterday, and I managed to dry 4 lots of washing, but today looks like a complete washout :o

Fajitas for dinner as I have some peppers that need using. Will get some Tex Mex starters., so a lovely easy meal tonight. Might get a bottle of wine to go with them, as I will be exhausted after a day rushing around after a 14 month old :D

Catch you all later, have a good day x

    Morning everyone :)

I'm all a flutter today! Really excited about going to see the mighty boosh tonight. Going to make afew sandwiches to munch on on the way across to sheffield, just remembered my brothers friend is coming with us so I need to make afew extra, it's only polite!
It's pretty much wet and windy here. Filling up my boyfriends car this morning (at about 7) and nearly got blown over! Just tried to ring up HallamFM and win my sister tickets for HSM3 tonight but I didn't get through :(

Hope everyone has a peachy day!

  • Good morning all,it's surprizingly warm this morning but it's supposed to rain later.I got all my washing and ironing done yesterday so I don't realy care if it pours down.I've got such a busy day today,me and OH are going to finish off the damp course we started in the lobby as I underestimated the amount of chemicals we needed for the job and we've had to wait for some more to be delivered.Later on we have to go for our flu jabs,so that will be me having to baby OH all evening as he'll probably think he feels ill after his jab.
I hope it stays warmer,it was so cold last night that I had to get up in the middle of the night to put a throw over the duvet.
Just looked out of window and it's started to rain already.Oh well at least it's warm.
Whatever your'e all planning for today have a good one.
    Take care xxx.

    Hola!
Peace will reign after today, and OS and routine may be able to kick in. DS&GF spent the day at the beach yesterday, did some snorkelling and really enjoyed themselves, and we managed to fit a piece of balustrade infil (too long a story but it was a PINA:mad: ). Took us most of the day to go and get it and make it fit. Took them too a Wok Buffet last night, then at 9 they went off first to a Poker Night  10€ play at one of the local bars - then onto to heaven knows where but probably the local Irish bar (owned by an Argentinian:rolleyes: ) I heard them getting something to eat at 4 am, so don't expect to see them any time soon, (though there was talk of another beach day yesterday:rolleyes: ;):D ). Then they must clear up their room and bathroom and pack. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:  . We may find the Bathroom and Bedroom floors again then. Need a clean up, as my elderly cousin is coming out for 10 days on the 19th, so need it to look normal by then.

We are off to another Wok Buffet to celebrate a friend's 50th Birthday tonight, and they fly home.

We had said we would go with them to the beach if they went . . . . :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (if they wake up this time of midday!) Never mind they have enjoyed their break.

DH has now appeared, so will have brekky.

((((hugs))))) to all - Take care - DG

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • Morning everyone ,absolutley rotten here today windy and raining, but not cold.I developed a very itchy, sore throat and stuffy nose yesterday so i was up at 4.20 for a cup of tea with honey in and 2 paracetamol. Managed another hours sleep but had to get up as awaiting a couple of deliveries this mornng and DH wanted an early start on the bathroom.
A while ago i bought a Boots electric vaporiser at the bootsale for 50p so i am going to try that today to see if it makes breathing any easier, cos i hate having vick on my chest, its so sticky!!
Today will be spent photographing and listing ebay stuff, if i can get on the uk site, at the moment this 'puter only signs on .com. I hear they are making 1000 workers redundant, sign of the times!!
Will make meatballs and pasta for lunch and HM soup at teatime, something quick and easy cos i have a feeling i will be tucked up in bed early again tonight.
Hope you all have the best day you can!! BSB xx
