OS Daily Thread Tuesday 7th October....

Hi, this is the OS Daily thread for the 7th October . It is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning! :hello:

Woke up at 4am, & couldn't get back to sleep so thought I'd come & see who was up.....nobody!

Looks damp here, too dark to see anything else yet :p

Work today, need to go in early to do the important thing for my boss I forgot to do last night because I did one of the other bosses a favour & gave him a lift to the garage :) Think will sort that & then hide in the canteen until the time I should be there!

No washing today, OH did it yesterday :) but he did leave me the ironing  Did a piece of gammon last night, Nigella's coke recipe but without her glaze (just demerara sugar ) so that's for my tea this week while OH is away (again!)

Booked a few days off work Friday to Wednesday - my brother & his family are having to move house, and as his partner is 6 months pregnant I offered to help with sorting & packing. They have 2 cats who can't go to the new home (landlord won't allow them) so we're desparately trying to find a home for them in the leafy Cheshire suburbs where they live.

Ooh think the kettle has boiled for my cuppa so will make that & sneak back under the duvet with my book.

See you later - :grouphug: to all who would like one.

Floss xx

    Morning :hello:

I was up at 4.15, just couldn't be bothered to start the thread :p:D

I didn't get my new printer yesterday, I forgot that mr troo was going out straight from work and he didn't get home til 10pm. So I'll ask him to get it today. I'll have to tell him what his PIN number is for the cashpoint :D

The washing's all done, just need to iron it now.

I put a few cards on ebid, the pics aren't great but at least they're on there, I can change them later.

    Need more coffee smiley_yawn.gif:D

Morning Floss and all who cross and follow,

Don't know why I'm up so early. OH is off to work soon and I just woke up. Guess I'd had enough sleep though. Was so tired last night, went to bed and watched TV straight after DS did.

Day off today so depending on the weather, will either continue to de-clutter and tidy here or go down the allotment. Also need to go food shopping. Fish pie was a big hit last night. Mushroom risotto tonight with HG salad.

FLOSS makes me so sad when cats have to be re-homed, hope they get sorted soon.

MARIE aren't men grumpy patients? Please look after yourself.
CANDYGIRL hugs to you and yours. I used to use oil-filled radiators and found them very good.
    PENPIN hope hospital was ok.
Seems to be a lot of people missing, hope you are all ok. JAYWARD how are you?

Off to watch the news and get organised. Have a good day all.

    Morning.

It looks horrible outside. Lots of rain, fog and wind. The garden has degenerated back to a swamp and I think getting out of doors may not happen for a while.
Work shortly and back to court for the day. I think it went well yesterday, but who knows what's in the mind of the jury.

Got a sopping wet washed duvet hanging up at home, any idea how to dry it?

Well not much else to say... have a nice day cheers

Good morning everyone. It's too dark to see what the weather is doing but I know they have forecast heavy rain right across the country today. The good thing is that they have said the next three days will be really good so I hiope they've got that bit right! Anyway, it's not as cold as it was.

(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, Candygirl's Dad, Essex-girl's Dad, Beth and her family, Pippa's DH and Mum and Meanmarie and DH. Lots of (((hugs))) to everyone who is suffering with coughs and colds.

    Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:

Well, I have a massive mountain of ironing to do this morning so I will get the ironing board up ready to start as soon as DH goes to work.

Dinner is something undecided with sausagemeat so I need to get my thinking cap on. I must also sort out my freezer - I had a rummage in there yesterday and it's all in a muddle again.

Anyway, unusually for me, I don't have a lot to say at the moment! I'm off to read the rest of yesterday's thread.

    See you all later.

Squiggly - just read your post yesterday asking about the energy monitor. Mine took ages to come but that was because they were waiting for new stock. I waited for about four weeks then emailed them and was told it would be another four to six weeks. Hopefully, they now have plenty in stock but, if I was you, I would email them anyway.

Not sure  with a hair drier?

    Morning all :D

I woke up wide awake at 5.45 and thought I'd get up and catch up on loads of work and bits and bobs before DD's woke up:cool: 5.55 - DD's both awake  So instead I've sorted washing out, made hot water bottles, drinks, boiled eggs, toast, got uniforms ready and am in middle of lunch boxes

My babysitter didn't turn up last night so couldn't go to the meeting as planned - I rang and texted her but no answer. I hope she's alright. She's 18 and studying for her A levels - seems like a really responsible girl but not letting me know last night leads me to think otherwise and I'm not sure if I want her looking after DD's again.

Lunch is rubber chicken salad (sounds disgusting but you know what I mean :rotfl:) and dinner will be chicken/veg pasta with HM chocolate cake and custard for pud. Someone at work said they had an apple tree laden with fruit and that they would bring me some in so fingers crossed that will arrive today and I can get crumble and cake done while DD's are at dancing lessons

I dusted last night but still need to hoover house. Feel really stressed cos DD's keep bickering even though they've been told a million times now to be quiet

Hope everyone has a great day and will try to catch up later but sending huge great big ((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need them xxx

Morning all (well, my brain thinks it's lunchtime, but I'm not even sure what day it is now :) ) Three days left - generated a contents list - just errors to correct now. I'm a little wary of my computer handling such a huge document (230 MB so far) but I have several backups, so I hope it will be fine. One appendix to finish and some corrections. Roll on friday! (I think!).

Anniestar - so glad you had a great time at the concert!
Neav - could you use a laundrette drier if you have one near you?

Hugs to those that need them - I need to go sleep now :) cel x

    Good Morning All

Very wet on the ground in Essex today, not so cold again.

Have decided to go to our local Farmers Market today, havnt been for ages wont spend too much though. Will also look in £stretcher - I love that shop and treat myself to one mocha coffee.

Other than that it will be paperwork and housework. At the moment there is no ironing.

Was meant to be burgers for tea but dont fancy that so will see if can pick something up at the market.

    Have a lovely day.

    Morning.

You were up and about early Floss, don't tell me the road sweeper who is clattering his plastic bin outside my house started off by yours.
Hester, hope you have a better day at work.

Tea tonight will be something with sausages. I think I will set the timer and use Moski, I did salmon with a herby breadcrumb crust for tea last night, with baby jackets (all in Moski) it was lovely.
    I'm working again tonight :(

Not seen Morwenna for a few days, hope she's ok and not been traded for a few thousand Kwh at work :D
I think Aussie has run away with the concreting boys & girls.
Haribo, look on the bright side.....at least it wasn't OH's 50th birthday. :rotfl:

Oh well, I'd better shift myself and leap into the shower.

Just remembered, tea is Turkey curry, I bought a leg in Asda yesterday and roasted it yesterday in Moski, so I'll throw in a jar of 4p curry sauce.
How do you all cook rice in Moski

    Love and hugs to all
