just spoke to someone at sonycard who seemed a bit tired - probably from having to say this message all day - but apparently mbna had made an error and it will be amended over the next 10 days to show the 8200 pulsebeats...

..although I presume it is a widespread thing as I didn't have to give her my account number for her to tell me this information.
  • Thankyou BritishBeef for pointing out this thread to me.

I'm also in the same boat as a few on here.

Signed up from a link posted on hotukdeals and used the card as normal to find only 2000 points credited.

Phoned sonycard who weren't interested and told me all pulsebeats awarded by mbna.

Phoned up mbna and spoke to a friendly chap who had no knowledge of the offer, got him to find the letter i received recently telling me about the 8200 points for a mp3 player and he agreed that i should have them.

Then proceeded to go on about that mbna gives the customer 2000 bonus pulsebeats, they pass this to sonycard after the first statement, sonycard open you an account and credit the remaining pulsebeats which takes up to 30 days.

He's told me to wait until the beginning of december and phone sonycard for a pulsebeats balance, then if there's still a problem to phone mbna back after my second statment has been produced.

    Obviously not happy about this!
  • James from MBNA called me back a few hours later.

Said that Sony themselves would be adding the extra points on for me and to keep checking my online balance. Total balls up by the look of it but at least good cust service in getting back to me so quickly.

Mind you looks like I will be lucky to get my mp3 player b4 Christmas :(
  • Still passing the blame to each other then if SpudGunner was told similar to me about sonycard adding the points yet weedav was told it was mbnas fault.

Why can't one of them just accept the blame, apologise to the affected customers and move on to the next problem.

I took advantage of the MBNA SonyCard deal very early on. Clicked through via RPoints for the free 8200 points award (and therefore the free MP3 player). On 25 Oct 2006 they wrote to me to announce that my 8200 points were waiting for me as soon as I started using my card. So far, so good. That same day I used the card to pay for petrol, and have used the card on a number of other occasions.

Well, you could have smacked me with a wet kipper: but today my first statement arrived and they have awarded me just 2000 points.

As always I have kept all correspondence from them and so have documented proof of my 8200 points. Ihave now rung them and I'm awaiting there call back.

Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?

Sorry for my previous post - I admit I hadn't bothered to read the previous posts in the thread.

I am not alone in my disappointment it seems. It is about time the card companies realised they are no longer in a position to hoodwink us. They have the massed ranks of MSE to contend with when they flunk!
