Thanks a lot drahcir [I've just worked it out! I thought it was Welsh!]
I took your advice to someone else and phoned Virgin and they did it free.
    Thanks. You're a star.

I've a Sagem MYX-5 currently locked to Vodafone that I'm looking to unlock. Is it still a case of having to pay for it to be unlocked or are there codes out there for this model now??

I would contact Vodafone to see if they'd issue me with a code, but it's my Mums phone and to be honest I don't think she's ever had a great deal of credit on it as she found it too confusing on their tarifs - hence wanting to unlock and swap her over. Not sure they'd oblidge me??

And if I buy the data cable, so long as it's sepcific for the phone model, can it be used to unlock the phone regardless of where I purchase it? Seen so many around at varying prices I'm just not sure which to go for, it thats the route I have to take to unlocking.

    Many thanks in advance;)
the cable i use for unlocking these is a serial cable with sag 9xx on the sticker
if you get a cable pm me and ill send you a small prog that can read your phone, then i can give you the unlocking code from this
or i can do it by post if you cover the postage and a charity donation

Thanks very much drahcir. I'll give Vodaphone and buzz and if I get no joy I'll purchase a cable and get back to you;)

    here are your codes:
    #pw+3433257976+1#
    #pw+6278344956+2#

put in exactly as written, using the * key to get the P,W and + symbols
you will probably only need the first code. should say restriction off when done then it may reboot
