Lovely bright morning, sun shining and not too cold.
Did not sleep too well spoke to a friend yesterday who is having trouble with step children and their fathers will, they are trying to take his half share of the house from her.........b
kids, why do they get so avericious when someone dies. My friend looked after her husband for 3 months with no help from any of his kids, often not getting any sleep.... he wanted to die at home and thats exactly what happened, with support from her friends she kept him at home as he wanted, they should be grateful to her....... it makes me so angry......... its not as if they need the money.......one is a millionaire, and two are married to very wealthy men....ggggrrrrrrrr
Everything is ready, meat defrosting in the fridge, custard to put on the trifle later today, we had some of the bacon cold last night with jacket spuds and salad, tasted better cold than hot,...... yummy, have enough soup for lunch today, might put a load of washing in as it looks like it might dry, can always finish it off on the rads later or in the dryer.
Enjoy your day tomorrow folks.......

Lunch will be something like cheese on toast or a sandwich and tonight I will make home made pizza.
Presents are wrapped and turkey crown is defrosting.
Stockings have been looked out to be put out tonight.
Happy Christmas everyone.

Got up late today, as I didn't get back from babysitting till 2.00am. Have just put a loadof washing in the WM, will hang on airer when done. Lat night I cleaned the kitchen before I went out but still need to clean the bathroom, and push the vac all through the house.
I'm up to speed with all Xmas stuff, have just got turkey crown out to defrost, presents were wrapped weeks ago, and I'm going to Mums later where I'll also be spending tomorrow so I will take most of the food I've bought today to save the hassle tomorrow.
Just have to walk to local co-op to buy some bread rolls, milk and cereal (only just now realised we've run out of the last 2 so no brekkie for me!). Also have to return library book so will walk there in same trip.
Have to shower and will ask OH to trim the ends of my hair (as I have a long straight style and quite fine hair it only takes him 2 minutes!).
Have a good Christmas Eve all of you! :xmassign:Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0 -
All presents wrapped - only one by me as I was worn out after that  but lovely DH did the rest. Not too much to do today except a couple of loads in the WM, and go to local shops for nice bread and maybe some spuds to make sure we've got enough - might get away with it though!
Very pleased as some trousers I'd ordered from the Penny Plain sale arrived and when I saw they'd charged me more than the price on their website on the day I placed the order, I rang them and they are going to charge me only the CURRENT sale price, which is less than the sale price I ordered them at, IYKWIM :snow_grin They fit beautifully too! I shall be wearing them with the beautiful boots I got from Duoboots, courtesy of this site! :xmassmile
Hoping to find energy to make toad-in-the-hole tonight with really nice sausages. They have to be eaten today, so they'll have to be cooked one way or another!
Then hope to manage Midnight Mass. Our pianist is playing for the Children's mass at 6 o'clock, but she's coming back to sing with us as the Midnight one, and the niece of one of the other ladies in the choir who is down here for Christmas is going to play either the piano or violin to accompany us. She's a professional so we're very lucky! Bit of a busman's holiday for her though :snow_laug
Then leisurely morning tomorrow and off to DD's for Lunch! I'm so thankful as I think it would have been a real struggle for me to make it this year, not to mention the fact that the PC takes up half the dining table. (DH had planned to get a laptop, but the cheap ones were all sold out when we got to PC World!)
Wishing :xmastree: peace and joy to you all :xmastree:0 -
Morning all and a Happy Christmas to everyone.
I was up until one last night wrapping presents and I'm still not finishedThe turkey is thawing nicely though and I have all the fresh veg to prepare for tomorrow. Had a moment of panic when DD1 swore blind that I had not given her two of DH's presents to hide in her room. Luckily she has now found them
I had far too much Baileys to drink last night and am now feeling rather light headed and strange. Must get on though, so much to do and far too little time.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

merry christmas to you all
my red cabbage/apple is braised, all gifts are wrapped, mince pies made, all shopping done, laundry all up to date.
so - it all seemed to easy and i think i had a mad rush of blood to my head - i have just emptied all my clothes cupboards and drawers onto my bed.
there is now a pile of clothes about three feet high and covering a king size bed that needs to be sorted, refolded and put away. ... and i have lost my momentum...
so - as its now after midday im going to sit here and have a baileys ( MATH you are such a bad influence lol ).. then ill have to get back to it or ill be looking for a room at the inn to sleep tonight.
Taking neice and nephew to afternoon carol service, then neighbours from 30 years ago pop round in evening for traditional bevvie and mince pie. Ill prep veggies and slow cooker after that ( having brisket done in sc tomorrow as its the only way i can cook a joint and be 100% sure it wont come out tough )
Then im just going to put my feet up in candle light and watch something on the box.
have a wonderful festive weekend all.0 -
Merry Christmas everybody,
I have just gotten home from Midnight Mass, which was held at 8pm. If that makes sense. For the last 2 years they have dropped the late service in favour for the earlier time. Have just chilled out with DH with a caramel mudslide. Very nice it was too. It was a scorcher today but managed to get everything done and am all organised. Had to spend quite a bit of time with Mum the last few days as she has been moved to High Care yesterday. 2 falls in one week:mad:. Luckily nothing was broken but it has really set her back.
I sincerely hope you all have a happy and holy Christmas and that 2006 is rich with many blessings. I'ts been lovely getting to know you all.
Love

Happy Christmas old style:xmastree: , and to all MSE'rs.
Well, I think I have all I need in now, if not it will not be missed!
I have enough booze to float the Titanic, and enough food to feed a small country, But thanks to Oldstyle about half of what I used to buy!
The gammon is cooking in coke in the slow cooker, the truffles are made ( they are to die for and much much nicer than any bought ones I have tried).
This afternoon I shall lock myself in the kitchen and make some stuffings, one for tomorrows goose and one for Mondays Turkey. I will put the Radio on and enjoy myself with a glass or two of something.
Thanks you all for all of your help and support since I joined this forum.
May this Christmas bring you all you wish for, and I hope 2006 is filled with good health & joy for all of you.:xmassign:0 -
Hello everyone :rudolf:
Quite a relaxed day here in our house. DS is with his Dad from yesterday evening until 11am-ish Christmas day. It is the first time he hasn't been here on Christmas eve and Christmas morning for 10 years! It feels a bit weird, but I am enjoying the peace, the relaxed present wrapping and am looking forward to going out for tea and a drinkie-poo tonight, then having a lie-in tomorrow! DS is getting a guitar for Christmas so I expect we will be serenaded tomorrow afternoon (Oh Joy!). By the way, he hasn't had any lessons yet!
We are off to my brother's tomorrow then to Mum's on Boxing day. Usually the family descend on me so Christmas day is frantic, but I only have a trifle to make for Boxing day this year so I am quite relaxed.
I would like to wish all my OS friends (as you have become) a joyous and peaceful Christmas and New year!
