Hi everyone :hello:
 to the new posters.
PP - there's something going round at my school. Not sure what it is, but I've had a quiet class this week.
Okay, I'm supposed to be working, but the little dears are having a dance lesson so I thought I'd catch up with what's been going on! The head's specialist subject is dance, so she gets to put up with them for a whole hour this afternoon!
Although the children have been learning their Christmas songs with the specialist music teacher, we've only just been given the CDs. This is to try to get all teachers and children completely fed up with whatever songs before the actual day of the concert (2 weeks today! ARGH!). I've only listened to them through once, and they don't sound too bad............ Sure I won't be saying that in a fortnight!
We're going to visit some friends tonight and go to their local pub, which actually also used to be our local until we moved. Not very OS, but I will get a chance to catch up on the gossip. They're letting us stay over at their house, which is good of them. I haven't been to any pub for ages, so it'll be a nice treat - even if I do have to travel 50 miles to get there!
See you later

Afternoon all.
Had a very very stressful day and im so hot and bothered and have a headache from hell.
Went to see the doctor this morning about my state of mind and my depression, and his answer, to tell me im fat, I wont be able to have babies and I might die before im 30, this is coming from a man that is about 30 stone himself! Im only a size 20-22 and very tall so hardly gargantuan. He totally brushed aside my problem and prescribed me slimming pills (which I took the prescription for, every little helps right?). I think him reducing me to tears has done me good, im adamant im going to lose weight and its my new focus, losing weight and getting married. I don’t know if this was his intention to spur me on but he didn’t need to be such a * about it.
Went to hospital after doc and they don’t have to pin my fingers :j :j :j got giving pain killers and another appoint for 23rd dec to see a physio specialist. Its OH & mines anniversary that day so it will be rivetting for him stuck in a hospital but nice for me to have some company.
Had a boots mealdeal for lunch and I didn’t use my points, I paid for it and got a whopping 40 points for a meal deal, some nurofen for OH and a face mask, it came to just over £5 too.
My bridesmaid, Clare, and I are having a girlie night in tonight so I was going to treat us two Lush face packs but when I saw the price of them I got some cheapie ones on 3 for 2 in boots!!!
Despite the sh!tty start to my morning im feeling quite relaxed and upbeat. Still wish I could have talked to my new dr about my mental health though!!! Any shrinks out there in OS land?0 -

Afternoon Everyone (specially newbies!)
Well, Ive actually done 3 loads of washing and all were dried in TD as its raining here  again!!
Cleaner is just about to go and house looks lovely and sparklyI really am so grateful for the help I get, but do still wish I had the energy to do my own cleaning. I love cleaning-really I do. Even when I was working 40+hrs a week, my house was always spotless. Just so frustrating..never mind...life goes on and all that !!!!!!..LOL.
OH is getting office ready for skimming hopefully next week, then his poxy computer and gear can go out there, and I can get my nice clear bedroom back.
DD seemed to be fine by 9.30am after we had called the school  she wont be able to do it once she starts secondary
Its our 12th wedding anniversary on the 11th-still cant believe it..LOL. We're only 31 and been together since 13
Oopps got to go emergency

The weekend starts here! Been out to a site visit this morning over on the Wirral, tried to pop into Cheshire Oaks on the way home but it was heaving - couldn't even get a parking space. Oh well, probably saved myself a few quid!
Came home & had a cheese & tomato toastie for lunch & tried on my new La Redoute gear - an adidas dri-fit style top for the gym & a black/white pin striped skirt for work - grand total £11 something including P&P. Bargain!
OH is collecting my car from the garage on his way home from work, then we're off to the gym (didn't go last night). Nothing planned for dinner, so it's a takeaway or eat out somewhere. It was payday yesterday after all!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend0 -
Front room is looking less awful but I just know that DDs will kick up when they get home.
I intend to blame DH (very supportive or what)
Too late to use slow cooker but have sausage, carrots, onions and turkey mince in a casserole dish in oven and may try to make muffins as well.

Hi all
Welcome to all the new people and sorry to hear about sniffly and headachy ones!
Ancasta, I think the doctor was bang out of order to reduce you in tears, humiliating people about weight issues is not only NOT VERY NICE but in fact it is counterproductive because there is very little you can do to improve yourself when you have a bad body image - he should support you, not scold you! (((((((((((((((HUG!)))))))))))))))
This morning I went to the BBC Festive Good Food Show with the tickets I won in the competition - I did not manage to give away the second ticket because I wasn't supposed to post about it here (sorry, squeaky!!!) but did not even get any response from Freecycle - so I gave it to an old bloke who was in the queue at the ticket office and he was very pleased!
I ate like mad, all the possible samples in the world - shame I don't drink very much because there is a true opportunity to get gloriously p*ssed for free there, with the amazing number of free wine tasters!
Bought some hemp seeds for £3.50 and I had a very funny episode coming back in the tube - as I was reading the back of the packet there was a jamaican man (I know he was jamaican because he told me later when we got chatting) was looking at me and at the seeds with SAUCER-WIDE EYES - I had to explain that these seeds were for food consumption and not for a huge home-grown plantation! We had a nice chat - I love chatting to people when travelling by public transport, it really makes the atmosphere more friendly!
Anyway, back home, going to do some work from home now.
Before I say goodbye: the BIG news for me is that I have put my resignation in at work, got to do 8 weeks notice but as Xmas is in the middle of this it won't be too hard. Not being at the office will allow me to give my troubled 16 year old son more time and support and also re-develop my doula business, which I had left to go down the pan when I started working in an office.
Dinner is going to have to sort itself out because I am going to an open studios exhibition tonight (free!) for budding craftspeople and I want to check the place out - who knows, maybe one day I shall be able to go and rent a studio there myself for my textiles!
Love to all
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

BTW Ancasta, dont worry about what numb nuts said about never getting pregnant. I asked my doc about this some time ago as I am a 'larger' lady (size 18) and was worried about the same thing.
She - lovely supportive lady doc that she is - said that I wasnt overweight enough for it to be an issue (she said you need to be very obese for it to affect fertility). What she did say was that if I got pregnant I might want to think about the fact I would probably gain a couple of stone, and that my ankles might not thank me for it!!! :rotfl:
Dont let the miserable fat sod get you down (sorry - no offence meant to anyone other than Ancasta's hideous Dr.)I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -

Talking of the big boobs did you take my advice? A fantastically well-fitting bra will make you feel slimmer instantly!Operation Get in Shape
