    Morning PP you're up early!

I know how you feel about a bad night, I don't think I had more than an hour or so. At work now

Got to go out and get cider for mulled cider today. We've got a new freezer arriving later.

Loads of cooking still to do. Was asked to go out reporting tonight, but after getting up at 4am, I don't feel like working till 11pm, for no extra money!!! And there's just way too much to do for Chrimbo

    :santa2: :xmastree: :rudolf:

So glad I'm not the only one up - I'm going to send my body clock in for a service! Last day of the School term and I wake up at 5.15 am!, tomorrow - as it's the holidays - DD's will be up at the crack of dawn. Right off to make another cup of tea & put a load ready in WM and load up radiators with drying - better not tackle DW until later so I might wake everyone up. Why is housework so noisy?

    Morning PP :hello:

Sorry to read you only had 3hrs sleep :( ...
hopefully, you'll be able to catch up on some shut-eye later in the day(?)

    Morning scuzz and kscour :hello:
Boys are out for the day today, so I've decided that rather than spend the day rushing around on housework/cooking/shopping/stressing, it's a good time to utilise my Pamper Basket :D I still have chores to do (obviously) but I shall dedicate just one hour of the time to jobs and the rest of the time on me (a complete reversal there!) :rotfl:

I was thinking yesterday about the forthcoming year in financial terms; but today, Winter Solstice, I'm going to be thinking about my goals for 2006.

It's amazing how much time, thoughts and energy we dedicate to our families, children, homes and yet, finding the time to focus on ourselves often gets shoved to the back of the line. I feel rather proud of the "OS-ing" achievements I have made - I've even amazed myself by how much I had actually learned without realising it from my Mother.

I know I fail miserably when it comes to adding up personal achievements and I'm sure (from reading other posts) that I'm not alone there. So, before I can focus on my goals for 2006, I'm going to spend some time reflecting and acknowledging *my* achievements for the past year; then go from there.

The most likely time for me to do that, will be while I have a dip in the bath with some "Free Samples" from my Pamper Basket (I shall double up on my time by having that while the WM is running).

Don't need to put the BM on as I have plenty in the freezer. I've been soaking a "Soup & Broth" mix of pulses overnight; so that just needs making up into a chunky Broth (very little effort required at all LOL )

Have a good day OS'ers and ((hugs)) to those who need them.

    Morning!

Early one for me too this morning, yesterday I got my car MOT'd and it only failed because the back indicators were too 'white' (i.e orange colour burnt off, need to replace) and as its free re-testing for today only and I have to go to work, I have to be there at 7am when they open to get it all finished.

Hence the early start! Although ive had 4 days holiday, I actually feel worse for having the time off as now have a stinking cold and doing so much cleaning and organising and stressing has left me tired and not very happy. Stupid boyf isnt helping much and I feel as though its only me around here that takes any responsibility. I found out why he keeps going overdrawn too - he's paying £26 a month in interest on the overdraft alone, and he doesnt check his statements so he doesnt know when its coming out. Time for a big chat soon, he gets a full time job or he leaves, as im sick of forking out for expensive TV and Broadband so he can sit on his !!!!!! all day long and think doing the dishes is enough.

Anyway, Id better dash, I need that MOT!

    Jo xx

    morning all.

hugs to you jo, i know how it feels when you feel like you are doing everything and the other half does nothing....chin up! (i personally love living on my own....not resposible to or for anybody..oh...except 4 rug rats lol)

i am going to have a very organised day today...at least thats what im telling myself!! today DS3 is off to his foster carers for the day, they are such warm wonderful people and make him really welcome and it gives me a whole day so i can get things done which arent easy with him in tow!

me and other 3 kids are off to tesco to do a small shop to get the things to last us over the christmas period. and then into town to do banking and a few other bits!

baked a loaf yesterday and it was AWFUL!, think the batteries have gone on my scales so will be picking up some more today!!!

me thinks HM pizza for dinner tonight as i have some mozzerella in the fridge that needs using up!

i nearly bought out chemists yesterday as all 4 kids have stinking colds and oldest two have horrid coughs and sore throats!

planning a big tidy up in the house today and a sort out of laundry, which should mean i can relax (a bit) over christmas lol

    have a great day everyone

PS queenie - reflection sounds like a great idea. im thinking after kids go to bed, nice bubbly bath, glass of wine, don me PJ's, light some candles and write in my diary (which gets a bit neglected sometimes!) writing down all the things i think i have achieved this year!!!! :santa2:

PP - it might be cheaper to invest in another flask and take soup with you; I know from experience just how pricey soup/hot potatoes etc., can cost at those places  Not to mention the poor quality :(:(

Jo - Good luck with the MOT ((hugs))
:shhh: I have extra's in my pamper basket if you are in need of a MOT/TLC ((hugs))
As for db/f ... an old saying for you: "Man can't put in what God left out" ;) :silenced: (sorry, only just noticed :o ) :T Well DONE, you! :T 10 quilt panels (still by hand?) EXCELLENT!!! :T :T :T Be proud! That really *is* good going :j :j

kscour - Housework is noisy for one simple reason .... it's so that the people we share our lives and homes with get the hint that we do actually *do* housework and it there is not Dust Fairy waving a magic (silent) wand while we sleep ;)

scuzz - enjoy your new washing machine and ... mulled cider!

    JAMIEDODGER - I think your evening sounds absolutely *perfect* :T :T :T

*Your* post has reminded *me* that I really should take the time to write in my journal!
I used to write down daily the things that I am grateful for (was introdruced to that idea by a website a few years ago) but like other things, I let it slide :o An evening reflecting on the things I'm grateful for will help me re-focus as much as reflecting on my past year's achievements .... ... it will also keep me from being a moaning minnie and focus on the brighter side :o:o

    Mornin!

Cold here in gloomy Liverpool this morning.. thats even with falling asleep with the heating on! (another £2.50 worth of gas money gone!)

Had brekky - frosties and a cuppa (with a sly chocolate gingerbread biccie from lidl! ;) ) now i just gotta get on with the rest of the jobs for today which include going the post office to post my job applications Special delivery  They NEED to be back by tomorrow and friday so i have no choice :( Have to get another £10 gas to tide me over too.. that will take it up to £45 in a month!

Pop over the shops while im out and pick up some bleach as i ran out yesterday, some milk.. and probably a few other little bits.. have to check my fridge etc. Lucky that im going to my mums for xmas dinner etc so dont have to do a big xmas shop... but i feel awful her having to do all the work so ive offered to make some mince pies and sausage rolls etc for the traditional buffet on boxing day.

Got a skirt from ebay yesterday morning (sent to my mums so only got it last night) and its looooooovely! From M&S, its really soft denim and has a handerchief hem - only £4.99 including postage.. and it fits like it was tailormade and look nice on! So happy with it! :)

Have a nice day everyone x

PP - Hope you all have a great day at the Zoo. Should be great and quiet there this time of year!

Queenie - Your idea about goals is great! I've done everything but! Planned how to fit in OH signing course, the kids new hobbies, budget planners, debt planners, saving planners and this morning Birthday box planners - going to hit the sales next week for the years cards and pressies like some of you guys already do! But I totally forgot about me!!!!!! :p

Anyway, I have a massive list of things to do today. Some are quick and easy like taking meter readings, but I do intend to delegate some of them! :j Especially since the kids want pocket money! We have been keeping it back all December and will give it to them tonight ready for shopping tomorrow!

Actually going out tonight!!!! OH mates and GF/wives all get together at Christmas and go out. So its a cheap dinner, free drink - but I am driving! Well I suppose that its my turn. We cant justify the cost of a taxi and me drinking. BUT, we don't do this sort of thing very often, so I might be able to squeeze another £10 out of my budget!

So, its just dinner for the kids tonight. I might do a simple sausage and mash for them. Got DVD rental in post this morning, so that will keep them occupied with Auntie Nicola tonight! :j

And checked my Nectar points! I have been saving them for a new car seat for DD4 and have enough to get a new one now! The old one is very bulky and when you have two in the back of the little car, it leaves almost no space in between for and older sister!

And I still haven't heard from the bodyshop yet about the galaxy! They have had the flammin thing for a week  How long does it take to do a quote???? Top of my list to call today! Its a nightmare - we are having to do two trips to anywhere in the little car to get us all there!

Anyway, hope everyone has a great day, with freezers, sorting out BF's and other bits and bobs!
  • Hey

Just about to leave and have packed up lunch and a flask of coffee ;) When we went a few months back the food quality and price werent too bad. Paid £3 for a fresh very large jacket spud (in one of those old fashioned cookers)with cheese and beans...enough for OH & I to share. DD got a kids meal for £2.50 which included a choice of different things but she had: plain chicken breast, chips and beans. Also came with a drink and a ice-cream so not too bad.

I am going to look for another smaller thicker flask for soups/stews etc...for the future..lol.

Will catch up later, love to all.

    PP
