Got to make it a quickie - working today: out with the girls tonight, and off for our "Second" Christmas early tomorrow in Devon.

apple_mint: are you still stumped for cracker presents - love making crackers: so much so that we handmade 60 or so for our just-before-Christmas wedding.

I've used (amongst others) for the chaps (depending on the age or "stage"): Bottle stoppers, wine glass charms, spec repair kits, key ring screwdrivers, hm "this book belongs to" labels, hm address labels, key rings, Christmas decorations, magnets for notice boards, rocket balloons, modelling balloons (to entertain the children at the table), mini slinkies, semi-precious stones, wooden "eggs", self-inking stampers, inexpensive velcro cable ties, bubbles, oversized wooden dice, "decision dice", novelty round dice .....

    HTHs!

Morning all --- My DD's break up today and go back on the 3rd of Jan. I'm looking forward to having them home, they need the rest too.

Took advantage of my last morning of peace and had a lovely long hot soak, while it was running tho I dusted and hoovered the entire house (the advantages of living in a bungalow) Stripped our bed, sorted out some more pressies to wrap and dug out the crackers and table linen (needs a quick iron).

JW - My eldest cat was 7 when we introduced a new kitten (7mths) They hated each other on sight and still do - they hardly ever appear in the same room and have hissy fights at meals times.....one is in charge of the front garden and one patrols the back, but them my eldest cat is the fattest (he's a Turkish Van - which are big cats anyway), laziest, grumpy old moggy you could ever hope to meet. I only took the new kitten on (he's 3 now) because the women who had him couldn't afford to keep him anymore...he's got a gorgeous temprement tho and he's the most affectionate thing going.

HM pizza for tea for me and DH tonight, DD1 wants nuggets and chips and DD2 is at a party so won't need feeding.

Managed to convince myself about 2 months ago that this weekend was going to be busy and that we could make no plans, when in fact everything is done, all the shopping is sorted, all the dec's are up....we can sit back and relax and make the most of it.

Got 2 new boxes of glasses to go wash in a minute, got them in Sainsburys for £3.99 a box (18 in each box) as all my glasses have gone scratched and cloudy from the dishwasher, well those that haven't smashed to bits, with all the people that are going to be here over Xmas and New Year they'd have been drinking out of vases and coffee pots.

Hope you all have a great day all and hugs to all that need them.

Hi Yall, Just sitting down with Jermey Vine, my customary mug of mushroom soup and some HM bread (for someone who normally doesn't eat before 6pm I'm quite getting into this 'doing lunch') so I thought I would pop on a see me pals.

Dreadful nights sleep here in the emids cos of the very high winds. I know some of you have a dreadful night every night so my problems are light really.Got a bit peeved with the letterbox keep banging and my Christmas wreath whirling like a dervish and assulting me knocker:rolleyes:

The MATHLETTS finish school today. The last day of term is playing games, watching videos and dancing to pop music. hum...methinks I was born too early heheh. Mini MATHLET informed me today en route that he 'NEEDS' a Spider Man costume for Christmas and has squared this with Santa when he vsiited 4+ earlier this week. It's the first I've heard of it and you can guess the rest I'm sure...
I will be dragging them down the the library later to stock up on Christmas reading material, Famous Five, Secret Seven, Mallory Towers and The Bobsey twins will feature heavily. Goodness knows what the kids will be reading but that's me sorted! Traditionally on the last day of term we 'crack' open the festive fruits, nuts 'n' sweets. Enjoy my posts while ye can, after day three of industrial barfing I may not fit in the office without the aid of a shoehorn.

TM what are you thinking girlfriend? Mr TM has given you a prime excuse to open one of those tins of tutus and scoff the lot slumped in front of daytime telly. Use by dates don't last for every you know and although it's a dirty job someone has to do it and the odd glass of bailey's U like will help it all down:snow_laug
Well me washer has buzzed me to tell me it's done and me surfing time is up catch yall later and have a good one.

Unfortunately, I've lots of boxes of those Belgian seashell type chocs (Lidl knockoffs, of course :D) but I'm not that keen on them TBH. However, as the festive week carries on, if they have not been needed, I may, in the interests of tidy housekeeping, eat them :snow_laug

I'm steering as far away from the chocs as I can for the moment. Last year, I succumbed to the 3 large tins of Quality Street types and ended up eating 90% myself  I am a tad larger than I was 18 months ago, because with the comfort eating I have been doing these past couple of months, erm, I may have to borrow that shoehorn :o

However, a Baileys U like may make an appearance very shortly. If you say if really quickly, I believe there are in fact NO calories in a cream liqueur :rudolf:

MATH - assaulting your WHAT???!! :rotfl:

P-P - sorry your health is so rubbish at the mo - I hope coming on here is cheering you up a bit.

Marginal improvement on the work front. I had to move desks yesterday to accommodate a new member of senior staff, so I no longer have to sit right next to my awful boss :j

Currently scoffing a portion from batch 2 of my HM spicy sausage casserole.

Too busy to write much - will be more sociable next week!

kiwichick - you are looking for a bottle of Queen Margot cream liqueur - around £4.49. They are usually one of the last things you come to before you go to the tills.

IMO it is nicer by far than the Netto one, which is cheaper, but what's the point of getting the cheapest is you hate the taste. Let us know how you get on with it.

Oh yes - have to agree with MATH in the next post - much nicer in your coffee. I have some real Baileys for 'drinking' at Xmas, but me fake stuff for pouring in me coffee :D
