Back from xmas party, it was fantastic.
Loads of lovely food, great entertainer/magician and santa with a present for each child. 2 hours of bliss for kids for the princely sum of £4.50 :j Really nice presents too.
Just readying us all for the nativity in half an hour, CANT WAIT. Fresh batteries are in the camera, have milk on standby to shut up younger two sprogs during performanceandlast but notleast a load oftissuesin my handbag for leaky eyes. DD1 (3) has been practising "Away in a Manger" and its bringing a tear to my eye.
Had the CC statement through so am going to now arrange the transfer to 0% card, was waiting till xmas shopping out of the wayWill now break it down into 10 month chunks in order to have it all gone by the time the 0% runds out. Hope its feasible as working the budget has nearly killed me.
Will also call sky this PM to threaten cancellation and see if I can save anything there. 4.5 years at £42.50 per month for footie priviledges is insane
and has cost in the region of £2300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, thatsthe first timeI've added up the cost!!!!! DH is getting a boot up the backside for xmas now, sod the present!
Off to pack the troops, will post later to say how it was,

Morning all (afternoon actually) :hello:
Had a nice night out of drinks with colleagues yesterday - six of us went out and we stayed for four rounds, all paid for by the four highest earners of the six of usSo got home slightly the worse for wear after four beers, but still compus mentis enough to do myself a big pan of pasta with butterbeans (one for me, four for the freezer). Washing up had to wait till this morning though, cos I dozed off around 11pm
Have just found out I'm moving desks in half an hour - nice of them to give me so much notice  but at least I won't be sitting right next to my bos any more :j
But aaaargh! My Christmas is soooo disorganised!
By this time last year I'd got all my cards sent out, including the ones with quite long personal letters in them. I'd bought all the food and booze by gradual accumulation (as I'm on foot/the bus) and had the Saturday afternoon before Christmas available to pick up the tree.
This year I have been working too many hours and doing concert rehearsals in the evenings. I haven't written a single card, and I meant to bring them with me today so I could write them between scenes at this evening's rehearsal, but I forgot  I've got next week's evening's to pick up what's left of the food and drink, but the weekend is going to be insane, and I'll have to find time to collect the Christmas tree in a tiny timeslot between my rehearsal and my concert. Which involves commuting into Central London twice in the same day, and lugging my tree a mile home from the garden centre! One of my colleagues lives near me and says that if it was any time other than Saturday afternoon she'd give me a lift with it, but she'll be at the hairdresser's and I don't have any other opportunity to get it... :xmastree: Housemate is going away for a few days on Sunday, so I'm hoping I can persuade him to get the tree inside and into a pot before he goes, then I'll do the deccies on Monday.
After Saturday's concert there's a party at somebody's house, just south of Central London, and I found out yesterday that my singing lesson next week has been cancelled which will mean I've got money spare for a cab home after the party (wasn't looking forward to kipping on somebody's floor with a party still going on downstairs!) Also one of the other guys in the show lives down my way so I'm hoping we can share a cab.
No OS today - concert rehearsal - and I'll probably spend at least £10 in the bar afterwards, cos an old friend is also in the concert and as he's completely skint (student) I've been insisting on buying his post-rehearsal beers as well as my own. Don't mind doing this cos I'd expect people with more money than me (dad, boyfriend, bosses) to buy me drinks, so I'm quite happy to do the same for my poorer friends. Mind you, me and sis are treating mum & bro out for dinner over Christmas week, cos we thought it would be nice for them being skint and all, but now I've found out that my brother (student) has been making a killing playing online poker  , and his Christmas present budget is actually higher per person than mine!
Hugs to everybody in need of them, and I hope I manage to pop back later (not easy with work!)Operation Get in Shape

Hello everyone
Late start on here today, we have been to DS's piano lesson, then to visit my grandma and do some shopping.
Yesterday the car was MOT'd, so that's one thing out of the way. Also yesterday, DH bought the Christmas tree, so we decorated that last night, but the place is still full of boxes - my task for the afternoon is to clear up the debris.
Fortunately I don't have to think about dinner, as we are going out for a Christmas dinner with a church group - and it's already been paid for, so no worries on that score.0 -
Just having my 'lunch' here - packet of crisps and some fruit
Did have porridge for Brekkie though - really excited as I sold my first thing on Amazon this morning :j So need to package it when I get home and fight in the post office tomorrow lunchtime.
Out for dinner tonight with the musical society I rehearse in so not much OS today.
Not impressed with Tescos hardly any food last night and lots of things with really short dates  but did get my carrots and mushrooms free because checkout guy couldn't use the scales properly - had seen him stacking shelves before so thought he was a good bet - also took all the coupons I gave him after a few weeks of only having 3 accepted so I'm very pleased (shame most were only 20p ones but still saved a few pounds) :money:

Hello everyone
I'm hard at work at the mo, haven't had time to read through the thread yet, but really need to let off some steam! Just had a conversation with my manager, she's concerned about my backlog of work and how it's building up. I reminded her that I have had three projects all "priority" and when I received those to do was told that everything else had to wait. Now she's contradicting herself saying that I was supposed to take time and do some of the other stuff as well. Oh stupid stupid woman, she makes me so cross!!!! Grrrrr!!!!
See you all later, hope things are OK with you all.

Hi everyone,
Enjoying a break as DD sleeps! Just had egg on toast for lunch
kiwichick- enjoy the nativity!! My DS2 did his performance the other day and I nearly cried! Can't believe my little boy is growing up..
By the way, I phoned Sky up the other day and got 40% off for 2 months, not bad! Good luck with them!
Have a good day all xxMortgage-free wannabe!0 -
Hi all,
Last day of term for me today - staying at home tomorrow to hide from students and clear up before the weekend's guests (7 people in our 2 bed flat).
Posted off all our details to conveyancers today- I refused to send our passports in the Xmas post, so had to get the bank to do certified copies. Fortunately our mortgage advisor was in and got rid of the dithering receptionist.
Posted off the last eBay items of the year and transfered the money from paypal - that's a nice £100 to cover the upfront part of the conveyancer's fee. I will miss that monsoon velvet skirt though even if i only paid £4 for it.
i won't get in until 8pm tonight, so the neighbours will have to live with the washing machine going on that late. Usually I hate to put a load in after 5pm because of the noise, but it can't be helped this time.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0 -

My boss is always having a go at me about my "low priority" work never getting done, and yet it's a struggle to get the high priority stuff done (given that my ongoing top priority has almost had to be sidelined since July when I had somebody else's top priority full-time job dumped on top of my own - and all the new work is ALWAYS high priority).
I know it's been said on here before (and you might like to head over to the Discussion Time board where there's a thread about stress, to which I've been having a good old moan) but WHAT IS IT WITH FEMALE BOSSES?????Operation Get in Shape

Afternoon all, what started as a good day has rapidly deteriorated
We got the tree and I had loads of stuff to do and then my parents decided to visit unexpectedly
They stayed for hours, I lost all impetus and then fell asleep on the sofa. Now I have a headache and don't feel like doing anything.
DH is out tonight, so is eldest DD, so it looks like I am stuck with the kids and won't get anything done.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Back Again....................The nativity was fabulous, I had a little cry when I realised that it was MY little girl (cue heart swelling with pride) I was watching not just random kids. One girl stood and sang Away in a Manger by herself and shes only 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've got a fewphotos and a friend videoed (sp?) it so will watch itlater next week with her. Cant believe that DH went to a pub lunch rather than watch his daughter, he will be getting a SERIOUS attack of the guilts when he gets home.
Dinner tonight is probably a tin of rice pudding, the kids need something stodgy as they have had 2 xmas parties today and are high as kites on e-numbers and sugar
I have some dried fruit loaf on the go in the BM so will be having that with butter and a cup of tea at some stage tonight. Oh how I wish it were friday.
Off to see what the sprogs are doing with the hoover, I can hear some weird noises
Chat later,
