Just wanted to reitterate other's best wishes to Ancasta and Snowy Owl - think of you both. :grouphug:
Didn't have proper lunch in the end as I had to go somewhere else this afternoon and by the time I got back to the office it wasn't worth it - so OH did my tea quite early for us - only a ready meal but it's our shopping day tomorrow and they were on offer
Trying to motivate myself to write Christmas Cards right now - but OH messed up recording Make me Rich for the second day running  so I'm sulking  not the end of the world I know but I really wanted to watch that series - don't think they'll let me have it on in the officeInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98

Never mind, Yorkie - I forgot to put the tape in for MMR
If we all email ITV, then it should be repeated soon (I hope)
Anyway, this is the first time I've had a quiet sit down all day. Rushed to dentist (3 x all clears) boys to schools then home where I shampooed most of downstairs carpets. Quick lunch then off to get DS2 and go to panto. I only went because we were going by coach and we were meant to be back at the pre-school by 3pm. When we get to the theatre, the show didn't finish till 3.15  As most of us had other kids to pick up, we had to leave early, but were still late back, so a mad round of phone calls to sort out kids.
Came home where I got muddy marks on my clean carpet :mad:Sausage, mash and veg for boys and I ate the leftover moussake (twice in one day, but it's bl00dy gorgeous) with extra veg. Boys read to, played with, bathed and finally in bed, where DS2 has eventually conked out (and DS1 has just this second called to ask me what time it is. I've told him it's 9pm so he'd better get to sleep;))
I must go and get the rest of my cards written soon and wrap the last few pressies. I've also just worked out how much I've spent on groceries so far this month  although a lot are staples that will be used over the next month or two. I think I'll treat myself to a small tincture in a moment. I may even still finish vaxing the hall carpet, if DS1 goes to sleep soon.
snowy and ancasta - (((hugs))) to you both
foreverskint - I see you've joined the "arrrrgh, men - who'd have 'em" club. There were a few of us in it last week. Never mind - I can at least commiserate with you. Not much use in a real sense, but it's nice to know we're not on our own. Now, did I just see the laundry fairy fly past again? .....................0 -
Just a short note to send hugs to both snowy owl and ancasta..... :grouphug:0

Morning :hello:
Just having a flick through Woman&Home (January 2006) over my morning coffee and noticed that MSE gets a (small) mention under an article "The new 'To Do' lists:j :j :j
Only bought the mag to while away some time while taking my son to an appointment, but it also has an offer of sending off for 8 books and only paying the postage of £10.89 ... I'm going to send off for those and pop them into my 2006 Gift Box
My car is going to the garage this morning; been squealing like a little piggy! I'm hoping it won't prove too costly - although the tempremental beggar hasn't "squealed" the past two daysStill, best to be safe than sorry and I'm very fortunate to have a reliable, trustworthy mechanic to do whatever is necessary
Bought a piece of pork fillet yesterday for the grand price of ..... £1.49!!! (ok, it was much reduced and I wouldn't normally buy itbut at that price it had to be done! LOL Whacked it in the freezer for another day - probably over the Holidays
Picked up a 1.5Kg bag of Organic SR Flour for 20p tooSo I'm going to make an Apple and Cinnamon Cake ... that will also use up a couple of apples from the fruit bowl before they are past their best. While that is cooking and with the car being away, it'll be an Admin. day today
I've got to work out my PMS and will update later today.
B: Porridge and fruit
L: Soup and roll, appleJacket potato meal
Take care, all.
((((((Snowy Owl)))))) I'm so, so, sorry to read about Tabitha
((((((ancasta)))))) What a shocking experience! I wish you well ((hugs))

Morning Queenie, morning everyone
Thank you Queenie and everyone from yesterday about your good wishes to me about Tabitha cat's passing. I cried buckets and I will miss her dreadfully after all these years of being her "mum". It's the hard reality of being a pet owner. And it has been hard to have had all three of my beautiful cats die in such a short space of time. I adopted two others a few months ago, but they will never replace my Henry and Baba, they were just too young.
Ancasta, I hope you are OK. What a shock you must have had on Friday, I'm sorry to go on about it when you want to put it behind you, but please look after yourself and do what ever you have to do to to ensure you properly recover.
Today is just another work day. I will have to drag myself to the kitchen and assemble some sandwiches for lunch as I won't have time to pop home to eat. I have to post a parcel to my friend in Italy and today is the last posting day so lunch time will be spent in a queue. The contents of the parcel have been sat on my desk for about three weeks, aw well, I am not what you'd call consistently organised. Too much on my mind with essays, playful kittens and sick Tabitha.
I'm in a sombre mood, sorry for being a grump. Have a lovely day everyone. JW I am so happy to hear you've got lots of long weekends coming up, you'll feel like a new woman. BrokenWings, if you see this it was lovely to hear from you yesterday...don't be a stranger...
Thanks again to everyone for your lovely supportive words yesterday.

Morning All
Hi Queenie!!!
Snowy, ((((((Hugs)))))) Im really sorry to hear of your loss. I can only imagine how awful that have been.
ancasta, (((((Hugs))))) - I hope you are feeling better, having suffered from panic attacks (minor ones) myself over the last couple of months, I know how scary it can be. If you want to talk then pm me anytime hun.
Work was boring yesterday as per usual but I came home to my xmas tree lights, my vouchers from work, and more pigsback vouchers so I had to smile at that. I went to St Nicks Market in Bristol on my lunch and bought some ribbon for the tree and have to say, its a mighty lovely tree now! I never thought of using ribbon instead of tinsel before and it looks really good. Its kind of a sheer deep red and compliments it perfectly.
Work should be fairly boring today so I intend to go to the market again to soak up the xmas vibe to break up the monotony. At least pay day is only 2 days away, and I have time off so have planned in some shopping on saturday morning to finish the xmas shopping - I figured I would go to the next clearence store to get some clothes for the boyf and maybe find myself a nice top for saturday night since ive got the work xmas do.
Anyway, id better go and get ready.....

Morning all,
I have a busy day today, so will not be on here very much!
Dustbin is out, washing washed & hanging in airing cupboard, bathroom cleaned, d/w still needs emptying, mind.
If the mechanic comes early enough to take the car for its MOT I will go along to coffee morning at church to support the children from the local primary school who are coming to sing carols. In the afternoon I am in charge of letting the local senior school in to the church, as they are having their carol service, and will be back there again for kids club in the evening.
Have got some sausages (nice ones from the farm) out of the freezer for dinner, so will probably do toad-in-the-hole with jacket potatoes.0 -
Morning everyone,
We've been having really dreadful weather here. The humidity & temperatures have been horrendous. On top of that every afternoon we have bad storms. At about 3pm you hear the rolling thunder come in. As it gets closer the house starts to shudder and the skys turn a nasty colour. Yesterday our tree (only big one) fell over. Luckily it didn't fall on the house but it fell the other way and landed on the footpath and road. Another storm this arv, lots of thunder, lightening and rain. It seems the worst is over but it hasn't cooled it down one jot. Sigh.
I haven't done a lot of Xmas cooking as it's just been too hot in my kitchen. 38 in there today, not too sure what the humidity was. But it was high. I will have to get my act together though this weekend. Will put the tree up & decorations as well. Off to my work's xmas party tomorrow night. DH is refusing to come as he reckons he doesn't "like" anybody. It's a sit down meal. Men, they are a pain in the a**e. I went to his a fortnight ago. Yeah, that was a real treat. NOT. Hugs to everybody who needs them.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
