Hi all,
Hugs to all in need. Penny pincher, hope you feel a little better and Snowyowl, I really feel it for you with your kitty, what a horrible year for you.
Today I plan to try to clear the devastation that seems to have occured over the weekend, I tried to blame it on the hemel incident, but it's just the kids and husband lol.
We have a dishwasher now, and hubby seems to think that now he doesn't have to wash up at the weekends, it leaves him free to keep the sofa company instead. I don't think he realises that washing up is not all there is to do:mad:
I have loads to do this week, I need to wrap some more presents, write some more cards, do some more freezer cooking and try to de-stress as well.
Why do we wind ourselves up so much over a couple of days a year
O.k all together now, deep breath in and hold.
Breathe out slowly and relax. There has that helped any one? :snow_laug0 -
Morning all
Working today - little one's been snoring away for an hour and a half....bless! Means I've been able to get all my ironing done though so I won't complain. All my weekend washing is done and just a few bits drying on radiators...feel better when it's all up to date.
DH is off tomorrow and we're going to do the last big shop before Xmas... will just get fresh bits next week. Need to go to Asda, Lidl and Tesco to get the bits on my list so he'll be chuffed!! :snow_laug Got to watch DD's school play tomorrow too which should be great - they've been walking round the house singing all the songs.
DH got told about his payrise and Xmas bonus this morning.....he's one very happy bunny!
Little one's just stirring so time to go play!

Woohoo! Morning everybody, I have the day off work to recover from my super-hectic weekend and to try to get some of my Christmas preparation sorted out. Only woke up an hour ago. I didn't want to set my alarm clock but I'm glad I didn't sleep till mid-afternoon
At the moment I'm watching Trisha while writing to you lot, but will be up out of bed and pottering around the house before too long.
I got a super bargain in my search for a new concert dress yesterday! I ended up going to Debenhams cos if I look hard enough they always come up with the goods on things like this! I worked out where in my budget I could afford to spend up to £100 from, and then went dress hunting. Ended up with THIS gorgeous dress (the website listing is wrong - it's actually from the Pearce II Fonda range not the BDL range), which is slightly asymmetrically draped with a slinky slit up to the left thigh. The only problem was that the label price was £120 which was definitely more than I wanted to spend - AND I'd forgotten my storecard which would have got me 15% off (special deal for this weekend only). I spoke to the girl on customer services who said that all new storecards were now upgraded to Mastercards automatically, so they would actually let me open a NEW storecard account (superseding the old one) and get MORE discount! So I did... and got THREE discounts one on top of the other! Dress ended up costing me:
£120 - 20% (special offer on evening wear - nice surprise!) = £96
£96 - 15% for being a storecard holder = £81.60
£81.60 - 10% for my storecard being a new account = £73.44
:money: Top Moneysaving!!!!!! :money:
I know it's still more than the £50 I would have paid if I'd found something in Matalan or Asda, but I am VERY happy
Hugs to everybody esp. SnowyOwl, PP and Ancasta :grouphug:

Morning :snow_laug
Had my mad rush around town this morning, getting the last bits and pieces - mainly £1 shop things for the stockings.
(Jeez - Mr TM has just walked in the house. Talk about getting the shock of my life!! He must think I spend ALL day on hereHe's forgotten his wallet, apparently)
Anyway, shopping all done (I may get DS2 something if I can find it, but I have an alternative already here) I'm thinking of venturing into Tesco this afternoon,to do the *big* shop. I have £40+ of vouchers (I never want those offers worth 4x as much) Then I'll just have the fresh stuff to get.
It's a gorgeous day here, so could do to touch up that paintwork that needs doing in the dining room in bright sunlight, but I fear Tesco's is more important. However, I do feel all happy and up-beat today, despite the early morning insomnia kicking in at 4.45. (Had a nightmare about cleaning my friend's house to help out her husband, but then going on to shoot DS2 with a shotgun  It shot purplepaintbut still made my heart race
) And no - I hadn't been drinking last night
Anyway, BM is on, reading ivyleaf's post made me remember to get the shoulder of lamb out. It's in the microwave, defrosting and will go in the SC soon.
Hugs to those who need them. Had a message from an errant OSer today ,so maybe she'll make a return here soon :snow_grin
Blimey - look at the time - must dash and get DS2 from pre-school

Good morning everyone, hugs to those who need them, keep smiling!
We spent a very frustrating day on Sunday looking for a rooted Nordman christmas tree, we could only find very big ones so I think we are going to take last years one up from the garden and pot it, I hope this works well, I wouldn't like to kill it! I could never have a cut tree though, it is such a smae for them to die just so we can have them in our living rooms for a month!
Today I will be crawling into the eves cupboard to find the decorations and lights. The OH is going to out the fairy lights up outside today, after his driving lesson. I need to do the ironing and finish an application form. Buy a few christmas presents online and have a little tidy up.
I am not sure what dinner will be yet, something easy I think.
Have a good day everyone!0 -
