Hi Queenie, it's quite a big hamper, as for the last few years we haven't been in a postion to buy Christmas gifts, so this year I'm making up for it a bit.
I have mad a cake and pudding, and will add some fresh cheeses and a forerib of beef. I also have been 'colecting' things, such as nice preserves in pretty jars, and some chutneys & pickles. ( i haven;t mad all of these as we're not lovers of these things in our house). I have made some cherries in Brandy, and have included a tin of biccies and some crackers and choccies.
As they are spending Christmas on their own this year (their choice) I have tried to include most of the luxury items that I think they would skip, if they were to shop for themselves.
I have used a box tray type thing from vegetables, covered it and lined it with some cheap muslin I bought from the market, and will fill it with the goodies and present it to them next weekend. Hope they like it.0 -

Morning!
yesterday at work was rubbish, this week seems to be really dragging! The boyf is doing my head in too because he went overdrawn on one of his accounts so I now have to sort it out, simply because he doesnt know how too and has to actually go in and see the bank (they called him). Then he proceeded to fall asleep on my sofa and he'll probably be in bed all day now.
AAARRGGHHHHH, men, they drive me nuts. Things would be so much easier if he just did as he was told!!! he left the lounge in a right state too, he didnt do any of the cleaning and left the lounge in a right state.
Things had better be clean when I get home from work as I am sick of doing everything for him, ive got enough on my plate with a nightmare of work. Its not like he has anything else to do!!!
Anyway, im going to be having words this evening and he is going to be told he had better start looking for proper employment as I am sick and tired of making up the shortfall of money, and he can do his fair share around the home - which means everything whilst he isnt working, then half when he does finally have a proper job.
Id scream right now but I dont want to scare the cat who is currently kneading my stomach. Words cannot express the dismay I have at my own boyfriend. Its not like he doesnt know what a rubbish time im having at the moment, but doesnt seem to get that making things worse by his irresponsibility is not a good way to go.
Anyway - positive thoughts, I get paid in 8 days and got paid for a mystery shopping job today. Tonight im going to go on a mission of sorting things out, and once they are, the boyf had better not make things worse or ill be seriously re-assessing whether its worth living with him or not.

Good morning everyone :santa2:
Sorry to hear you're having a rough time of it Jo, men
I've made lunch for DH and DD, and am currently sitting in my dressing gown looking at MSE when I should be getting myself and DD dressed :snow_laug
We're going to the Dominican Republic for Christmas and we leave on the 19th - so I am at the panic stage of: have I got everything, and oh my god I've got so much left to do, packing, sorting out pressies etc!!!
Work today, so not much OS, dinner will probably be chilli, followed by an evening of ironing and packing - I've done DD's case, so just mine and DH's!
Will probably drop in later :xmassign:Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -

Well, slept for about 3hrs last night and not feeling too good but nothing much to do today. Have 2 washloads (bedding day, normally friday) to do and will probably be dried in TD as weather isnt too good. Been ages since washing has been hung out on line
Cleaner here today so no cleaning to do and all beeding will be stripped and re-made.
OH has been busy doing jobs around the house.
Breakfast:creal and yogurt. Lunch: jacket spud, ham and coleslaw. Dinner: Shepards pie and veg.
Will catch up later.

:rudolf: Morning all,
Have to agree on the  Men! front. Every time I nearly get us sorted I find he has bought a new fishing rod, or he comes home with a take away. So no solutions, just lots of sympathy. (We do realise that Squeaky and Math are super beings and therefore we shouldn't expect our mere mortals to be like them, but a step in the right direction would be nice! :snow_laug )
A nice O/S day today, lots of baking ready for middle DDs birthday party, she's going to be eight so I am going to do lots of fairy cakes, some HM rolls, biscuits and anything else I can think of, her best friend is vegetarian so I thought I'd do teeny weeny cheese pasties instead of sausage rolls. All with the help of little DD aged 2.............
Have a lovely day everyone,
SallyXX

Hello everybody,
((((((Huggs)))))) to those who need them. This has got to be a quickie tonight.:xmassmile I'm off to Bingo. Ha Ha. Me and DD decided to go when we were eating tea. It start's at 7.30pm and it's 1/4 to now. The prize is $2000 in 90 calls & I'm feeling LUCKY. :rotfl:Went to the hairdressers this morning. :eek:The price of it nearly made me faint. But I deserve it.Worked this arv in the office with air con of course. Hot as hell here. Best go and have a shower so we can get a good pair of seats. It's all in the seating you know. Usually you get the evil eye as you take a regulars seat. Tut, tut, sniff, sniff. Hee hee.
Hope everyone has a good day & wish me luck.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
