Went to my coffee morning of ex victims of abuse this morning and then got a few things I need from the town. Watched Martin's programme and then got the kids from school. Tonight I've made a homemade pizza and a recipe I have concocted for potatos:

    Ingredients:
    Cooked jacket potato,
    1 tub Quark,
    Half chopped onion,
1 rasher cooked bacon chopped into tiny pieces,
    Sprinkle Parmesan cheese (optional).

Scoop the middle out of the jacket potato and mix in with the Quark, onion and bacon. Cook the potato skins in the oven a little while so they are crisy. Spoon the mixture in the potato skins and then bake for a further 15 minutes.

    Evening everyone :santa2:

:grouphug: to everyone that needs them re men. My OH is supposed to be looking for another job, but he doesn't seem to have sorted out his CV yet. I am getting a little annoyed, to say the least. He moans about his current job (he's driving about 100 miles a day, which I know isn't much in comparison to some people), the people he works with and doesn't do anything about it. I think his self-confidence has been knocked by his boss, who is a complete and utter numpty, but this is a vicious circle.

I can't complain too much though. He did wash my car at the weekend, and is chief in charge of cleaning the bathroom. I haven't touched it for 3 years :D. He is also making supper tonight - don't think he knows it yet :rotfl:

I'm really chuffed with some bargains that I found tonight. I popped into the local Boots and normally they have reduced stuff that I never want. Anyway, they had some deodrant for 25p (spray on), so I picked up 2. When I went to pay, the lady said "do you want another one because they're on 3 for 2". Wooohooooo! That never normally happens to me! :j

I don't often post on this thread as I lead a fairly boring life, but today was a lovely day!

First thing this morning we went to our youngest sons nativity play. I have a real love hate relationship with nativity plays..........I really love them, but spend most of the time trying not to cry. It was really difficult this year as all those five year olds were acting their little socks off, and they were all absolute stars!

Later I went to spend some time with a family I see every Thursday morning. Today I helped put up their Christmas tree and the childrens faces were a picture.........more trying not to cry.... I really do need to learn how to control myself. :o

Stopped to do some Christmas shopping on the way home and managed to find the rugby gloves that my older son has been looking for for ages. :j

I spent the afternoon making home made broth, crusty bread and liver pate for tea because I wanted something quick and easy to wash up afterwards as Mr P and I are hoping to go out to do some more Christmas shopping this evening.

  • Hi All, :santa2:

I agree with the men thing, shouldnt complain about mine as he is off doing the rounds of the the shops buying Christmas pressies atm, but they are for his family. (Ive put my foot down this year, Ive given him a list and the money and pointed him in the direction of the shops, he has rung twice already with questions, he hates shopping and probably hasnt done any for years)
I was supposed to be making Chrismons which are decorations to go on the tree at Church, we need them for Sundays service, thought it would be lovely to do with DD's, but DD1 is STILL doing her homework, she has been doing it since the weekend  and Im fed up of nagging her about it. Her school book is "Jekyll and Hyde" and she has done her best to get out of reading it, but her teacher has put her foot down and said, "no you cant read a Jacqueline Wilson instead" I am gradually realizing that it is going to be a waste of time trying to motivate her into taking her 11+ next year. She is very bright and is doing exceptionally well at school but just does not have the interest or the competitive edge. Luckily the local girls school is really good, and also happens to be the school she wants to go to.
DD2 is supposed to be writing her Christmas cards but is standing on her head whilst practising her songs for her nativity play instead.
Looks like Im making the Chrismons by myself then.
Have a good evening all, Im off to make a fake baileys laden coffee. ;):p

    PMSL @ this comment.

Have you read our posts PW? Putting the dishwasher on and doing something with left over chicken is news. Spotting a Robin in the garden or splashing out on a new duster has us reaching for the smelling salts so pleeese post away.

Yes we really are that nosey!

Just realised I forgot to say earlier..........................
    :j :j :j WE'VE SOLD THE HOUSE :j :j :j

Woo Hoo, xmas is not cancelled after all. I havent got anything out yet by way of decoration as it all makes the front room look smaller. Poor kids are really suffering as its only another couple of weeks to go now isnt it. Full steam ahead this weekend then.

And the even better news is that we may still be able to get the house we lost a couple of months ago as it is still on the market without any offers on it! We are waiting to hear back from the vendors - fingers crossed please.

So have been celebrating with toffe vodka coffees (they taste A LOT betterthan they sound) since about 2.30 this afternoon- dont tell DH ;)

Off to make dinner for him now,

    Evening all!

The house was quiet when I got home, the boyf must be at band practice. he's done the list of jobs though! Its clean! Well, clean in the way my boyf thinks is clean, so I still have to hoover and whatnot, but its a damn sight better than when I left in a huff this morning!

Had another boots voucher from pigsback this morning which cheered me up and there is money in the bills account ready for telewest, and the rent has been paid. All good - except ill be drawing a cheque from my ISA tomorrow to pay for the boyf's idiocy, since im bailing him out ive decided he now follows my rules - and he'd better get organised quick!

Feeling less stroppy though, ive decided to have a clean up so I dont have to do it at the weekend this evening and hopefully ill come home to a new coffee table tomorrow, and my work xmas present vouchers, and the xmas tree lights. If so, then the boyf can pick me up from work so I can go spend them on fripperies and tinsel for the tree.

This week is going slow!! Isnt it Sunday yet??

    Jo xx
