    Morning all :j :j

Well, off to mum's to trim her house for her, do her cleaning etc. Have to pop into town to pick up her pressie - she wants walking canes as they are meant to be much easier to use than sticks. Sorted through all the other pressies yesterday so now I just need to pick up a couple of bits for DS2, something for one of the boys next door and some itty-bitty stocking fillers and I'm done. :snow_grin

It's still being 'one of those years' :( A friend of Mr TM's died yesterday - she was only 37. However, and I apologise for seeming insensitive, I haven't the capacity to grieve for her or even support him. He's done nothing for me with my losses this year - and that's no understatement, so I need all my own strength to help me cope. In fact, when I tried to broach the subject the other night, he told me the best way was to carry on as normal aka 'I don't have to bother thinking about/doing anything' (Has anyone guessed I'm having a bad time with him atm? :D Nope - think I've hidden it well:))

Anyway, I've had my shower and hair wash, just about to put beef casserole in SC, set BM on timer for this afternoon, then it's off to mum's. I will be watching MMR at her house, before returning to do the school runs.

Have a good day everyone (and Jo, get him sorted NOW :D)

    :grouphug: to you TM.

Why is it that men are SO insensitive (no offense meant to Squeaky or Math)? They think that not talking about it is the same as supporting/greiving/coping and end up getting nowhere and helping no-one.

I'm sorry your year has been a rough one and sincerely hope that 2006 will be better for you (and your family).

Sorry to hear about all these partner problems....chin up everyone! :rudolf:

I had a really naff day yesterday - the little one's were both woken after about 10 mins sleep by the doorbell...result...2 grumpy toddlers...so out for a nice bracing walk...they slept for an hour and a half in the pushchair whilst I walked my socks off! DH phoned as he was having a bad day and popped out of the office, came and found me on my walk and just got out the car, gave me a big hug and went back to work ...bless!

DD2 is currently sitting in bed with a hotwater bottle - she came home with earache last night and has a nasty infection in her right ear (it's just cos me and DH are going away tomorrow - i'm sure they do it as a guilt thing!)

Made a lovely quiche for tea last night and some ham, cheese and relishy pasty type things for lunch today....Tea tonight will be .......I've no idea - time to go dig in the freezer.

Had a 20 min whip round - cleaned the bathroom and hooverd all through, just running a bath for me to collapse in - then it's ironing and packing for tomorrow and making a lasagne and some burgers to take with us for easy meals.

I've got 2 pots of natural yogurt in the fridge that need using by the weekend too....any ideas what I can do with them today?????

Hope you all have agood one. :santa2:

I'm anti-man today too. Made him sleep on the sofa last night after the big kick-off.

All over the washing up. My family are lazy. I am NOT the slave who runs round after them all. It was "his turn" on Tuesday (I have a chore list to keep things simple!) but he went out (was his Archery night) and therefore did not eat. but its still his turn.

Refused. Refused last night too. Being a baby and saying that its alright for the kids not to do it but he's forced to???

He cant see that I work (okay part time), I worry about paying for the kids Xmas stuff, he wants £100 to buy my presies with, I've taken on extra home work to earn spending money for Disneyland in Jan and I still have to find £100 for Lille this weekend. Plus the cooking every day and last night had to do ALL the tidying/cleaning etc. (I know I am lucky with Lille as Mum has paid for the trip, but I still need to take some money to eat with!)

But apparantly I can't see his point of view that because I earns, he feels inadequate? GET A LIFE! Last time I looked, we were a team????

Anyway. Rant over. Cos my solution is to pack his bags if he dosen't grow up ASAP.

Anyhow. Washing Up done now (Guess who did it? ME!) Washing machine on (Guess who???!) Bathroom clean (Guess who!!). Only just got breakfast in and off to work in half an hour.

Tonight I have to take up some net curtains I bought cheaply. We have never had any upstairs, but feel awkward not having any this year. So found some off cuts - that match, but are too long. Sewing machine out tonight to fix them. (After dinner and the cleaning - starting to feel like Cinderella)

HM burgers tonight with Mash. And a bottle of wine for me!

    See you all later!

Was going to make some mince pies last night....but found out when I got home that OH had bought a red currant and white chocolate meringue thingy. Rather nice too. Perhaps tonight I'll get the chance, as OH will be fitting our new graphics card...if it turns up that is.

Hi every body, well my solution to the men problem is to be single! I had actually forgotten what a pain it can be to live with one until I read your posts. So thank you! I'll try and remember them next time I have to take the car to the garage on my own!:)

So far I've had an excellent week. Surely it cannot last, can it? I'm just waiting for something dreadful to happen... It's gone really fast too. Can't wait for the weekend and some sleep though. I hope my neighbours behave better this weekend!

2005 has been a traumatic year hasn't it? I hope 06 is more peaceful

    Morning All,

I know this is yesterday's thread now, but wanted to add my twopenneth worth about the wedding hymns.

We got married 4 years ago (how long!?!?!? seems like yesterday!!)and we had the following as our hymns:

Shine Jesus Shine (was my nana's fave and we'd had it at her funeral)
Make Me a Channel of Your Peace (Just one we both love)
One More Step Along the World I Go - Like Math says - one about God's love for us but that translates beautifully to human love and particularly marriage - especially the verse that goes

Round the corner of the world I turn,
    more and more about the world I learn;
all the new things that I see
you'll be looking at along with me:
    And it's from the old I travel to the new;
keep me travelling along with you.

Hope this helps and maybe gives you some new ideas. We also loved Jerusalem, but were told by our vicar that it's not a 'real' hymn, and that although we could have it if we wanted to, he'd prefer it as a piece of music rather than as one of our 'songs to sing'.
I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle
  • Good Morning :hello: :santa2:

Sorry to hear about your man troubles - sounds like he needs a good dressing down

Feeling in much better mood today. The police have received my job application, and I know I couldn't have done it better. Really really hopeful I'll get an interview!

***fingers crossed, fingers crossed, crossing all the way**** (hums to the tune of Jingle Bells as sitting at the computer)

For the first time I'm feeling Christmassy. There was a 'Light up a Life' service at the church last night. I didn't go but could hear the carols and the bells, and the tree looks lovely this morning. Starting to get into the mood so I think I'll go and collect some ivy and start making a wreath tonight.

    Have a lovely day everyone!

    Morning all!

Looks like I'll be off all week so I should make the most of the unexpected time.

Made stewing steak in the SC yesterday. I haven't used it for ages as it is quite hot so if I leave anything in it from 8am to 6pm (my normal hours out of the house) it is totally burnt when I get back, even if I put it on low. Anyway, DS loved it and so did OH when he got back later on. I also made some chocolate biscuits from the Be-ro book. Delish! I was surprised how quick to make they were, with relatively little mess. I will do it again definitely.

I have been having a good think over the last couple of days and I have decided to leave my current job next year, probably around May/June time. So until then I will be economising like crazy and during my sabbatical MSE will be my best friend. I am gambling on being able to get another job later in the year but I want to enjoy the summer with DS before he gets too old to want to enjoy it with me!

I went to a couple of charity shops yesterday and picked up some books. One of them is a fantastic book about National Trust properties. The list price is £30 but I bought it for £2.50, which I was really pleased with. I also got some aromatherapy books and self-help books so they are all listed on Amazon at the moment. Probably no takers before Christmas but I will add to my stock list during the year and I may try Greenmet as well if I get any novels. I will also have a look around ebay to see what sells and if I can I will pick some things up to go on ebay.

I need to get some wrapping up done today whilst DS is at school and I have some peace. I also need desperately to attack the shower as the mildew is threatening to drag me in

Have a great day everyone, and to all those who are having problems with their OH's, good luck in getting them sorted!
