Hello folks,
feeling very cross and sorry for myself today. I had a fall yesterday as my dodgy old knee gave way -again - and ended up in casualty after damaging my elbow rather badly. A kindly nurse did some fantastic cross-stich on it and bound it up and now I am like a bird with a broken wing. I am right-handed, and yes it was my right elbow that took the brunt of it all. Now I cannot bend it for the next 12 days and so it's no driving ,knitting, and very little of anything else. This has been typed with one finger of my left-hand and it feels really awkward. I am totally cheesed off as two weeks before Christmas is not the time to be grounded. Can't even write my Christmas cards.
Mind you it was my own fault for not using my walking stick, so I can only blame my stubborness to succuming to admitting that I need to use it more.
I have a sister-in-law coming tomorrow and I know she will make a fuss and treat me like the daft old lady that I am,and I know I should be grateful but I hate to rely on other people.
Still at least I won't be spending much at the shops as I am stuck indoors. Any ideas as to how I can get through the next week or so without climbing up the walls0 -
Jackie!!!
((((hugs)))) - well, more like ((((gentle squeezes))))
Okay - you could try and make an art out of being ambidextrous?? (sp?) On the other hand (no pun intended  ) Christmas = 14 (ish) days .... arm rest = 12 days .... You'll still be able to stuff the turkey!
Christmas Cards - send E-cards (might take a while with one finger - but, you can send one card to multiple people all at once = less time in the long run)
Driving - no worries ... use online shopping and let everyone else come to *you*! And, you can take a 10-20 minute walk, daily, for some fresh air and to prevent "stir-craziness" setting in(Just .... don't forget your walking stick this time
)
Knitting - peruse the internet for any and all freebie knitting patterns for when you feel more able (isn't half the fun in the planning/dreaming??)
SIL: Close your eyes, think of England?(Remember, this is merely a "temporary" setback
Besides ... hey, we *all* deserve a little pampering now and again!!! Enjoy the day! If it all gets too much, plead pain/insanity and retire to bed with a good book. )
I'm really sorry to read that you have taken a tumble ... but, on the bright (and very selfish) side ... you get to spend MORE time with US(hey, reading doesn't hurt ... does it??? )
Hoping your arm heals fast and your spirit even faster still ((((HUGS))))~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Daughter's birthday yesterday so try to leave a bit of a gap between birthday cards and the Christmas cards going up....
that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it0 -
Oh Jackie,
What a rotten thing to happen at this time of year.....I hope you aren't in too much pain. You are certainly not a daft old lady!!
I can't be the only one who has benefited from your tips on here...thank you, and I really hope you feel much better soon.

Hello everyone, it's FRIDAY!!!
Up with the lark again, yet another sleepless night - four and a half hours kip last night, similar to all the nights this week, don't know how I avoid being a zombie.
Hope everyone's man troubles from yesterday are sorting themselves out. Remember to tell them that Santa knows everything.
My little kitten-shaped monster did it again!!! Yes, he piddled on my bed for a second time...grrr! It occurred yesterday while I was at work, I forgot to shut him and his two friends into the kitchen/diner where they normally stay during the day. So he came upstairs and slept on my bed, then must have decided to stay there rather than go downstairs when nature called. I am especially miffed as he piddled on my brand new duvet, brand new duvet cover, brand new sheet and brand new mattress protector. The mattress protector did it's work though and said mattress escaped unscathed.
Porridge for brekkie, sandwich of some sort for lunch and then remainder of sausage/apple/cranberry/mustard casserole for dinner.
Have to go to dreaded w-o-r-k though.
Bye!

Morning Snowyowl and All
Hope everyone is well today!
Got about 3hrs asleep again  but in alot of pain so have just taken 2 pain killers and these should kick in soon and take a little away
Have 1 washload to do this morning and will be TD'd again. DW is half full. Toilet cleaned. Weather here is very foggy and gloomy looking. House is all clean, so no worries there.
DD has a day off today, so we are taking her to see Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe-cant wait. It looks such an amazing film and is one of my all time favourite books. Have to pop too Makros too as they have some pretty good deals ATM-hopefully OH wont mind pushing me in my wheels
Going to my sisters tomorrow as its our wedding anniversary sunday, and they are doing a little party tea for us :j think we have a few pressies coming too-I love being spoilt..LOL. Folks will be there too-so should be a pleasant day.
Breakie:toast/cereal/fruit. Lunch:not sure. Dinner: not sure.
Anyways, will catch up later.

:j PP - I wont be here Sunday - so have a great Wedding Anniversary! Just sit back and enjoy the spoiling bit!
Up early this morning - youngest 2 woke at 5.30  I am not designed to be awake before 8am.
WM is on BM is on and so is TC. I haven't even looked outside yet!
Currently, I am trying to shave £40 off my budget as I want to book tickets to see Patrick Stewart on Xmas Eve. He's doing the Christmas Carol and tickets are only £10 each- mind you - they are right at the top at the back!
Off to do breakie - scrambled eggs on toast. Lunch will be a snack and grab fruit and dinner is HM burgers I have in the freezer (unless others change their minds later on today!)
And I MUST do the Nets tonight. Didn't last night as I was busy with this transcription thing, so I'm setting myself a reminder!
Have a nice Day everyone!!!!!!!

Morning!
Feeling a little better today, its friday! Ive got to work tomorrow again though, but I dont mind as the pay is a lot more for a much shorter day, and I know i can finish and go home when its done.
Im hoping my table comes today, and the other assorted goodies winging their way to me, it will be a nice thing to come home to! Tonights dinner will be whatever I can be bothered to make, the freezer is pretty full though so I might pull some chicken out or something. Ill think about it shortly.
Right now im off to set a very loud alarm in the bedroom to wake the boyf up though, as his sleeping pattern is getting out of order and if he misses my table he will be dead!
