If you have scales that weigh in grams - let me know what you need to know the weight of eg 1 tbsp sugar and so on, and I'll weigh them for you.

    Morning all..

Just a quick post to gather my thoughts for the day as my head is currently swimming with everything!

    Done so far :
    - Dishes x 1 (by hand, I wish we had a dishwasher :p )
    - Load of towels washed
    - Load of curtains & cushion covers in

    To do :
    - Bedroom curtains to come down and be washed IF they can be TDed
    - Livingroom window to be cleaned inside and out
    - FOH to be swept
    - Front window to be masked off (including newspaper) ready to be decorated for Xmas  with spray snow _pale_
    - Dishes No. 2 to be washed (breakfast dishes and a couple of greasy pans only for a change!)
    - Dinner to make - Sausage casserole, maybe with mash?
    - Clean kitchen
    - Wash livingroom floor - or at least spot clean!
    - Trip to laundrette
    - Ironing
    - Post bday card for OH's friend
    - Sort out Xmas cards for OH to write tonight - I wouldn't mind but all he has to do is open the card write "To.... from OH, me & DD" I've done everything else! There's even address labels printed out for him!!! :wall:

I think thats it? Must go and check on the bedroom curtains now to see if they can be TD. Have a good (or better) day all...:wave::wave:

    Morning :hello:

In the office early today - even skipped breakfast so as to be on time for an 8:30 meeting, and the person I am supposed to be seeing is not here yet  - now I'm starving but I suppose I've saved the cost of a bacon sarnie!

Had a super bargain at local mini-Sainsburys yesterday evening. Thorntons Chocolate Celebration Cake reduced from £7.49 to £2! Me and housemate had a big wodge each and the rest is in the fridge

Ate a weird leftovers combo for dinner last night - remains of mince & onion from a cooking session on Monday, with shop-bought egg fried rice (reduced) which had been in the freezer since February! I'm afraid that it looked a bit like it had already been eaten once, but it tasted very nice!

...Oops, will have to continue this in a little while cos my colleague just turned up for the meeting!

    Over an hour later...

Blimey, I'm hungry. Think I might nip out in a mo and have that bacon sandwich after all!!!!

    Good morning all,

Feeling a bit tired this morning - DH went out drinking with a friend last night - came in worse for wear and then proceeded to snore loudly for the entire night!

DD1 still off school with her cold, although she's being cheeky so she can go back tomorrow. I've had a good tidy round, dusted and hoovered through, washed the brekkie things and emptied the DW and it's all put away, 1 load of washing on the go and the ironing pile is beckoning (I'm doing it every 4 days at the moment so it doesn't take long and I don't end up with a huge pile that won't fit anywhere.

Tea last night was a "throw it together" pasta bake with courgettes, peppers, leeks, mince and a good splosh of red wine, turned out lovely (was all the ends of packets of pasta too so there was all shapes and colours in there) DH has taken the rest to work for lunch today.

Made a loaf yesterday, another disasterous one...getting really peeved with my BM, not had a decent loaf in ages. They either dont rise or go really stodgy.

Tea tonight will be something with a pack of pork cassarole meat, I've got lots of parsnips, carrots and apples to use up so I think I'll bung it in the SC and see what happens.

Hope you all have a great day.

Hi Yall, Happy Advent to all Ol'Style posters and readers.

I always try to get most of the card writing and present buying done before December cos I always feel Advent should be about mentally and spiritually oreparing for Christmas. Pleased to say almost managed it, just a few last minute cards, two pressies and the food to sort!

    Done Today:

    Downstairs deep-cleaned.
    Upstairs cat-licked.
Two loads of washing washed, dried, ironed, put away.
    Two loads DW done.
    Paid2clicks, stoozing, online banking done.
Lunches for tomorrow made and chilled.
Tesco took delivery of (been lazy this week).
Lunch was mushroom soup and a roll eaten while on here.

    To Do:

Get Christmas deccys down from attic and hide them cos I don't want them up for another week or so.
Dinner-Chicken casserole, roasts pots/pars, loads of veggies and treacle tart.
Collect mini MATHLETT from school and other MATHLETTS from theatre club later.
    Find the corkscrew:p
Got a colour booked in for tonight so that will put some much needed cash in me pocket.

I just think it's a shame that Advent calendars/candles start on 1st December rather than on Advent Sunday. I suppose it would mean there would have to be a different number of doors each year depending on which day of the week Christmas is.

I have a lovely Advent candle but nothing to put it in - my candlesticks have gone AWOL. Anybody think of anything I could use instead? (Base of candle is just a touch too big to fit in a wine bottle).

You could shave the base of the candle with a knife until it fits?
