Feeling very proud of myself today, I hosted or should i say hostessed my first dinner party last night. I cooked lamb steaks with a shallotts/mushroom/red wine/cream sauce with mash potato and carrots. and for pudding the greek yoghurt, whipped cream and raspberry thing from os. It was really nice and although i found the whole thing very stressful i would do it again.Just need some more victims, i mean guests.
Was feeling very proud of myself until i got a call half way through typing this asking if id forgotten that DS2 should have been at a party at 2.30. After a mad rush i got him there at 2.45. How could I forget? How rubbish do i feel as a mum now. Coming in the same week as forgetting the advent calenders I'm not doing very well.0 -
I seemed to be meeting myself coming backwards lately as there dosen't seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done.
Have been to asda and done megga shop this morning and hidden all food Iam saving for christmas so it dosen't get eaten, and Iam now having a sort out of all the kids toys which they no longer play with to donate to the local salvation army who then give them to local under privilege kids for christmas.
Need to dye hair tonight (loads of grey to cover up) as tomorrow evening were going out with friends and I don't want to look a frump as the others are all really trendy.
Haven't even thought about putting up the tree yet, maybe next weekend.
Dinner tonight is H/M fish pie and veg.
Have a great night,

PMSL @ TM:rotfl: Had to pop into the Arms to see wot you were on about. I thought eye eye she's been at the Baileys U like again but having read the post I guess you've been opn something much stronger, probably not Ol'style and more than likely illegal.
Havn't been able to come on MSE today until now on account of smashing my left hand up in a bit of an accident yesterday. Suffice to say it involved trapped digits and a loft ladder:o In a lot of pain and Mrs MATH has had to leave the cap pretty loose on the Chardonay so I can pour one handed.:D Needed an extra slug when I realised that one of the MATHLETS had hung a bauble that does not fit with my silver/pale blue colour theme on the tree. Had a bit of a Hyacinth moment " I will NOT have non authorised decorations marring my yuletinde tablau". Feel much better now it has been safely removed!
Senior MATHLETT has celebrated his 10th birthday this weekend as I was away last. Bowling with friends and a chow down at Pizza Hut (paid for with Piggypoints):j
Dad's birthday tomorrow so I've invited them round for an Ol'Style roast after Church.
Did my Christmas meal plan today ready for buying all non perrishables on Tuesday. I'm really looking forward to it this year cos my sis is coming over from America and bringing my niece and two nephews. I've only got one real stint of entertaining to do and I'm planning to make it a Christmas Pudding fest. 12 different flavoured Christmas puddings with 12 different flavoured creams/sauces and of course 12 different pudding wines. A cheese board will be available for those of a weaker constituiton:D The rest of the time we are being entertained (for a change)
MATHLETTS watching Harry Potter while I rev up for X factor and a tube of cheddars later.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
OH's parents have just gone - survived a day with them
Did get a dinner out, and forced us to have a good tidy up and clean etc. Just need to sort out the last of the moving stuff and make space for all of the pressies OH got - luckily most were practical things or things he'll use e.g. chocolate, bath stuff, jumper etc.
Trying to draw up a firm guest list for our wedding next summer - but it's hard as I don't know where I'll be working then, and friends keeping getting and breaking up with partners all the time - but got the majority of it done. Need to know how many invites to make
got some bacon, sausages, eggs etc for a snack tonight but not hungry at the moment so it might be quite late
I lot of washing on the airer, will check how dry it is in a minute and then maybe put another in
My eyes are so sore at the moment - bought up quite a lot of dust from the bathroom and bedroom this morning whilst cleaningand think it's made them irritated I think - time to take contacts out and find my glasses (other way round
) I think.

Morning All
Well, have been up half the night  OH kindly kicked me a few times (i think he was asleep..lol) then he started snoring  so decided it was quieter and safer downstairs
Anyways, I have caught up with the washing. DW emptied and toilet cleaned.
Supposed to be going to the good food show in Earls Court today but will see how i feel at about 7'ish. If we go, we will be going by car as its not too far away and taking sarnies, crisps, snacks and flask with us to keep costs down. I'm taking my FIL's mobility scooter to make it easier for me
Will catch up later, and have a great day everyone.

"Hunt for Christmas Decs ... Pt 2" today
Made a huge stockpot of veg stock earlier in the week and when I strained off the veggies instead of "discarding" them (as per the recipe I was trying), I pureed them, added a little bit of the 'stock' (almost to the consistency of baby food). So far, this has provided 2 x veggie soups for lunches! (I froze the 2.5ltrs of stock for another day). :yippee:
B: Porridge
L: Vegetable Soup/rolls (HM), l/o apricot crumbleMushroom, Bacon and Tomato Toad, assorted veggies.
Most of the washing I did yesterday is now all beautifully "aired" and ready for ironing today.
Take care everyone.
PP: Hope you have a fun day at Earls Court~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Managed only a few hours last night.
Went to bed late as I haven't finished this transcription job yet and dd4 (18mnt) decides to wake up exceptionally early and didn't take kindly to being put back into her cot. (Well, she took it very loudly actually!)
Its cooking(!ha :rotfl: !) day today. A cake, a chocolcate one, biscuits - a chicken pie to freeze, chicken nuggets to freeze and beef burgers to freeze too. Also I'm going to freeze the veg I have.
WM is on and kitchen is clean.
Off to MIL for lunch today. Saves me some cash, but the kids actually asked if we could take some of my roasties!!!!!!
Had a fun time at the Gruffalo yesterday. DD3 (3yo) bought herself a Gruffalo soft toy. £5.99 for about 6in! But it was her money she had saved specially and she has a little left over.
Any how, have a great Sunday everyone.0 -
Morning everyone,
DS1 was up at 5am (again) and put the light on in the hall so when DD woke up she saw it and wanted to go play with him. I've told him to just go in the sitting room, shut the door and watch telly or something. Anyway, he took her into the sitting room with him but was back within mins saying she'd pooed in her nappy, stuck her hand down it and touched him :rotfl: poor DS1!!
Anyway, on my second brew, have to get ready for work soon but finish at 4pm today
Will leave dinner up to DH
The place is a total MESS but will have to deal with it when I get home.
Have a good Sunday!!Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
Morning all. Have the house to myself so far (luuuuuurvly) went to a party last night and DS (4) stayed at sisters and DH and DD stayed overnight at the party, sleeping on the floor - that's really not my style! So when I've had my breakfast I'm planning on attempting the ironing pile, TBH it's gigantic and I'd need oxygen to get to the top of it! Still, will make a start while it's quiet.
Tea tonight is lamb dinner, so veggies need to be chopped later, but thinking that ironing mission will take up most of my morning, so will leave all that until DH and DD come home later in the day, then volunteer him for the task! Have a good day y'all.0
