Yeah i'll get JSA after 4 weeks i think (getting 4 weeks pay in lieau of notice)

yeah i knew basically it was coming... cos i went off ill (with german measles) on 25th September then got hit with a second really bad virus on top of it. and it totally knocked me for six and i ended up suffering depression and panic attacks (which id have 6 years earlier) and being on really strong medication to make me sleep which in turn ruined my ability to work.. especially nights in a phsysically demanding job... Cos only been at Tesco since feb i only get a 3 month "support" period and so it ended christmas eve.. so if i wasnt fit for work by then they had to dismiss me...... i tried to go back on the 16th dec part time but i had a big panic attack and made myself really really ill.. so didnt and was signed off another week so therefore i wasnt back in store before 24th.

Just rubbish as they are claiming they "supported" me and tried to get me back to work.. but they didnt do a thing till 8th dec except give me hassle when id ring or go in with my sick note to tell them i was still not fit but wanted to come back asap and what could be arranged?! THEN when they finally decided to give me parttime they scheduled my return ONE week before the cut off date so when i took ill on my first night and got signed off for a week.. i basically signed my own P45.
  • I'm still using my old Grannies mop and in all of its 80 years it has only had 5 new heads and 3 new handles, this has got to be money saving? ;)

isn't this a del boy -v- trigger joke???

actually, how's this for money saving. I cook on a New World 1947 in full working order certified by the gas board cooker in lovely cream with a pale blue oven (soooooo stylish!) it was my Mum's and whenever I'm slaving over it it makes me feel all "northern and continuing the gene pool"-ish......

When I left work today I had a great time. Went to the local offy and used my coupon to buy a £5.99 bottle of wine - discounted already from £8.99 for New Year promo and paid 99p for it! I got the impression they weren't too keen on the coupon but I pointed out in the letter attached that it said redeemable at all outlets where Kumala is stocked..... then onto the market for 1lb each of onions, carrots and parsnips which cost me £1 in total as I am a regular!!!! and she didn't even weight the parsnips and there's actually over a pound there................... local card shop has 1/2 price on all it's "posh" cards so told OH when he got in from driving job that we're going tomorrow so he can get his relatives cards. He said "yep, good idea" - i swear he's turned into one of the pod people from Invasion of the Body Snatchers..... he's being far too compliant........... beans on toast for tea in the end. Well, I'm off now for a green tea - it's my contribution to the whole yoga/green tea/body is a temple thing.......... see ya!!!

  • Johanne - don't worry about it. i've been sacked more times than I care to remember. you're better off out of it. now, this lodger lark - is there only one agent you can go to? i suppose you've thought of all the usual suspects - local hospital accommodation office, uni etc. there's little bell ring which is telling me that there's some sort of internet letting agency along the lines of the car journey sharing one but i'm not sure. do freecycle have an accommodation section? let me know how you get on. do you want me to add tesco to my long list of "people to put the mockers on when I am a millionaire"? currently it's about 4 pages long though..... :snow_laug

    Evening Fellow OSers,

    :grouphug: JOHANNE :grouphug:

I have got the toy mountain sorted! Went to B&Q earlier and got 6 MASSIVE stacking boxes which are stacked and packed :snow_grin 3 tesco sized bags of old/broken/unplayed with bits to bin. So now my front room looks less like Hamleys on xmas eve and more Mrs Buckets from "Keeping Up Apperances" :p MATH would be proud.

Thats all that been done today mind, except for 2 loads of washing which while clean is NOT dry, ironed or put away.

Having major discipline probs with DS(2) at themo, he knows hes meant to say sorry so just spouts it out at will and continues doing whatever we've told him off for  The naughty step, from our friend Super Nanny on C4), works well for DD1 (3) but dont know what to do about son.

Dinner tonight is wedges, beans and steak (DH only, I'm vegie), kids had broccoli, chicken and spuds with gravy. Damned if I can get them to eat anything without gravy

Off to chill with a toffee vodke coffee, YUM.

thanks everyone!! Will you all stop being so nice though? Im likely to cry! hehe! :rotfl:

Im lucky that i get on great with my mum so i can go back to my parents at any time.. im just stubborn and just hate the thought of giving up everything i worked so bloomin hard for i.e my independance.. having to put all my furniture in storage (i have 6 rooms ive fully furnished in this house and only a box room at my mums house with barely room for a single bed!) having to give up what little social life as i.. as situation in my mums means i cant bring friends back and also all my friends at the min live round here and knock on the way the pub etc nothings ever planned so id miss out most of the time as my mums is too far for them to travel - plus i wouldnt wanna be coming and going at all hours in my mums house like i can here as i have to think about them and my lil bro..... then theres the fact ive got quite a "sweet" deal with my rent here.. accomadation at the price i have is hard to find and has gone up since i moved in in august (capital of culture 2008 so prices are rocketing) so if i move home.. in a few months when i will hopefully can move out again the property will be too expensive again even to rent!!!! My friend is on about £15,000 a a year and is struggling to find somewhere he can afford to rent so is living with his parents again. Hes the person i want to move in with me but my house is rented privately through an estate agent and they are supposedly in the process asking my landlord if my friend can move in as my tenancy states i cant sub-let without permission.

Its all swings roundabouts and waiting on silly companies. urgh!

    My head hurts.
  • Not much done today.
Was meant to go out first thing this morning but the snow put stop to that so got on with more paperwork altho there is lots more to do. Have to look forward to the excitement of writing some H&S Risk Assesments, obviously I cant wait.

Is now raining and meant to be mild this weekend which is good as we all feel cooped up at the moment.

Now off to reheat spag bol for tea which I made yesterday.

    Have a Good Evening
  • awww johanne ((((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))).....what an awful thing to happen at this time of year.hope you get good news that your friend can move in-sounds like it would be perfect for both of you....will be keeping my fingers crossed. i used to work for tesco too(before i had dd's-never went back after mat leave) and their attendence/sickness policy is pants...people who take the p**s still do so and get away with it by doing it in the right 'timeframe' and people who are genuinely sick or need help get punished.

well dd2 has been a complete whingy nightmare today and i've not really done anything else since i posted this morning  but both dd's are now in bed for the night and all toys are away.im on here whilst my lovely hubby has returned from work then duly popped out to get my few bits of shopping then is coming back to cook me tea :-)
  • I know you say you're ok johanne but ((((hugs))) anyway xx Thank goodness you have your mum to go to if need be.
