I'm still using my old Grannies mop and in all of its 80 years it has only had 5 new heads and 3 new handles, this has got to be money saving? The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -
Afternoon all,

Breakfast: Cheese Omelette and Beans
Lunch:Nothing..not hungry
Dinner: Pasta....and Jelly/Cream for afters!
Catch you later

Afternoon all, I've quit until the children go back on Wednesday
I have an appointment to see my doctor on Tuesday as my hip is killing me, I had the accident a good week before christmas so surely it shouldn't still be bruised?
Have gone back on the AD's today as although they didn't seem to do a lot for me I seemed to have much more energy when I was taking them so they must be good for something.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
Scared myself rigid with figures this afternoon - had to go have a relax on the bed and watch MMR to recover.....made me feel better to see how much their overspend was each month....£10k a year on food and wine....some people need a slap!
Used my viewing time wisely and cut up all the christmas cards to make gift tags for next year, all the bits of left over card will go on tonights fire.
DH is finishing work early today which is lovely - we can eat a bit earlier and all snuggle up for a game of something before DD's go to bed.
Really cold here this afternoon - that wind is really whistling round my ankles, heatings on and all the curtains are drawn but it's finding gaps still.
Tea tonight is sausages and jackets with beans, or beany boats as DD2 likes to call them, apparently bakey beans don't taste the same unless they come served in an empty potato jacket (the potato has to be scooped out and has to sit on the side of the plate and not get soaked into the beans!!)...and there was me think that beans were beans...how wrong was I!

Hello again :santa2:
I have to say I was having withdrawal symptoms earler cos I couldn't get online for hours  However I found that chatting online to squeaky made sure that I didn't feel the need to eat my computer chair or do any of those other strange things people seem to do when going cold turkey :snow_grin So, cheers, squeaky :xmassmile
I've done very little today - packed MIL off to airport, put DW and BM on, watched MMR and like you lot, wondered how anyone can spend that much on food and drink in a year. Have you now found yourself at the stage where you hear these things and know that all other good OSers are choking on their :coffee: too
I think I'm going to make a turkey curry for tea, boys can have sausages or fish-fingers and wedges. Then all the rest of the turkey can be bagged and frozen, along with some of the ham. I can now see spaces in my fridge - as long as I don't find a lost tribe of antartican pygmy penguins huddles behind the bacon box, I'm OK :rotfl:
See ya later. I'll have a quick surf to see what I've been missing whilst some of you could post. :santa2:0 -

Urgh.. horrible day - got letter this morning via special delivery telling me i was fired on Christmas eve. Nice of them to take so long to let me know I live 3 mins away and they have 3 phone numbers for me.. specially as i WOULD have been due back tonight.. and luckily seen as i overslept (incase i had to go back and work all through the night tonight) the postman decided NOT to just leave a card and make me have to collect it from the sorting office... he actually posted the signed for letter just through the post box without a signature! (along with my barclaycard statement!
)
Now have about 2week to decided what im going to do regarding my house as i will have to give a months notice.. and my next rent goes out the 17th jan... i am £100 short this month on paying all my bills (cue ebaying and living out my store cupboard for food and borrowing £35 off mum to pay CC bill) But i wont be able to pay febs bills so would need to give notice on 16th jan. But letting agents STILL havent got back to me regarding me taking in a lodger.. urgh!
Off to make a hot drink anyway.. not doing anything today cos i just cant be bothered!
(oh and im OK about it all dont worry. More angry than upset... no point getting upset actually..... as my nan used to always say "it will allll come out in the wash!")0 -
That's terrible Johanne. You'll be able to sign on for JSA though, won't you? What a horrible thing to happen. Did you see it coming at all?
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Johanne - Sorry. Nasty time for this sort of thing too.
You should be able to claim Income Support?? There will be someone on the benfits board who can tell you what you can get. I think that JSA is only available to those actively seeking employment and reading your posts I am not sure if thats something you are able to do right now effectively?????
If you are claiming one of those, you are entitled to housing benefit - so at least it would be one less worry.
And these things are meant to be! I Agree with your Nan!0 -
