This is the first chance I have had today to pop in here.

Dishwasher will not drain and think it is because the weather is so cold that it has iced up.
DH thinks we need a new one - it is less than 2 years old!!!!

Will wait a few days for weather to get less cold and then see what happens.

  • Hi all,
Have been reading posts on and off today but this is my first chance to post.
Have been to town today to pick up boyfs watch which has been resized and popped in a couple of charity shops while I was there. Didn't get much really, just a few books. Also went into my favourite bookshop which is a really big old fashioned second hand bookshop. It has books about everything you could thing of. I was looking for a book abouut sewing as my boyfs mum has given me a sewing machine and I'm trying to find some basic tips. I bought a book that was published in 1973, some of the clothes in there are really funny like big flared trousers on the blokes :rotfl: Some of the tops and things are back in fashion now though so I think I'm going to have some fun with these :snow_laug . My first project is a beanbag - bought 2 metres of material from the market today for a pound so won't waste too much if I make a mess of it . . .
Spent the rest of the day finishing my inventory of the freezers and food cupboard. I can't believe how much food we've got, in fact we've got so much I've set my shopping budget for January at £40!! :j
I'm going to sped the rest of the evening cleaning the kitchen and bedroom, then listing some of my books to put on Amazon. I have to stop being so precious about them, as soon I'm going to have no room for new ones at all.

  • Evening all,

Haven't been on for a few days - I think Christmas Day was the last time I was on.

I've been up in Durham at my mum's for the last couple of days, £43 for the return train journey which is excellent, though I'm scheduled to get back into London at 19:45 on New Year's Eve which could be a bit of a nightmare - particularly if they don't call off the tube strike

Much as I love spending time with my mum I generally feel a bit like a fish out of water when I'm at home at the same time as my brother and sister - Mum moved here after I'd left home but before either of them did, so even though they've both left home now, it still feels like it's their home more than mine. I'm also feeling very frustrated with my sister at the mo, as it's seeming more and more like she doesn't share anything about her life with me at all. (I am absolutely convinced that she has had a boob job since I last saw her over a year ago - but she won't admit to it - seriously, though, how else does a grown adult go from an AA cup to a B/C in the space of a year without putting on weight anywhere else?)

I browsed the sales this morning but Durham's a bit useless for shopping really - all the shops are really small and don't have a lot of stock. I did at least finally get a network card for my laptop, which is why I'm writing now having not been in touch for a while! (I'm normally on a dialup connection.)

I'm just working out my budget for 2006, which I'm trying to rein in a little more to enable more to go into my savings.

Been eating mum's home cooked food - casseroles made from the Xmas leftovers - and today she managed to turn the rice and in fact the entire cooker top blue by trying to steam red cabbage over the rice and then letting it boil over :rotfl:

    Catch you tomorrow hopefully :)

  • Bargain Rzl - I'm only telling you this and no-one else (:D)

It is possible your sister has had a natural growth in boob sizes, although I'm not ruling out surgery. My sis got married last year. For a long time she was an under nourished size 6/8, then met her future husband. Whilst she has now put on weight (size 10) she apparently has also gone from a 34B (had been with OH for a few months) to a 34DD She has deffo not had a boob job. As I said this Xmas (much to her 16yo daughter's dismay) "well, we all know what BIL likes to play with" :D

This can apparently change a woman's cup size dramatically.

(note to self - find new man to increase boob size :D )

    Morning everyone!

Just two days of this rotten year left HURRAH!

It's a horrible wet and windy day here in N.Ireland - I woke me up about an hour ago to the sound of rain lashing the windows.

I made Caterina's lovely Bolognese sauce yesterday, and have enough for about a week's worth of dinners. Of course not all the same week, most of it went into the freezer in smaller portions. I am terribly lax at using my freezer to its full potential, so I'm pleased with myself. A New Year's resolution is to cook in bulk more often and freeze as that will save me lots of time in the long run.

Just had a bowl of porridge, will have some Bolognese sauce and rice for lunch, then I think a home made pizza this evening, washed down with the wine I had to open to make the Bolognese sauce.

    Have a great day everyone.

  • Morning :santa2:

Not a good night and so cold too.

2 washloads to do today as its bedding day  DW half full so will be put on after lunch. Have cleaner coming today so nothing much more to do.

DD's bedroom is looking lovely and she is very pleased with it. OH is doing some more today so should be half done by end of day.

I have to go up hospital this morning  but shouldnt be there long. Dont really want to go out as its so windy and cold out there, will make me feel worse!

Being treated to an Indian tonight :p Im always cooking for him and he said he wants to treat me :j to say thanks. His mates coming too, so I assume they will end up on Xbox-thrashing it out on Burnout or something. I'll be the only girl.

Have a Tesco delivery coming between 1-3pm with loads of food and booze to see the New Year in, but found a £10 voucher code on here ;) also have quite abit of stock cupboard ingrediants and frozen food so shouldnt have to buy much more this month.

Anyways, best go and have me cuppa and tablets.

    Breakie:Tea/Biccies/Tablets
Lunch: Jacket Spud, ham, salad and coleslaw
Dinner:Indian bought by someone else :p

    Catch up later.
