Good Morning Everyone,
Hope you have all had a great Christmas, and are raring to get going in the New year with all your new OS projects
I't 'brass monkey' weather here in Kent.I have my central heating on nearly all day at the moment, or my joints will start to seize up.
My library books are due back, and I'm wondering which would be safer ,bearing in mind that I have just got over a bad fall. Should I take my car around to the library or walk.
Decisions, decisions, the lesser of the two evils I suppose is my car.Although a bit of fresh air should do me good.
I cooked a huge pot of stew yesterday and last night froze four bowls ful and have one left for lunch today. I went to Tescos yesterday for some fresh veggies so I might make a bucket of soup today .A thick vegatable soup freezes very well.I have been raving to everyone i know about my new SC .All my family and friends seem to want one now so I hope Argos can cope with the run on them.
I am determined to de-clutter some of my computer room and spare room.It seems to grow with all sorts of junk gradually over the year.
I am also starting a sponsored diet next Sunday with my daughter ,both she and I need a bit of motivation so fingers crossed.
My grandaughter gave me her audio system to throw out as she had been given a fancy new one for Chritsmas ,there's nothing wrong with it but it needs a new plug. I have just the thing, and it will be re-cycled to my little computer room to sit on the desk behind me. It plays cd's, tapes and has an AM/FM radio as well. I couldn't believe that she was binning it. Still her loss my gain. A lovely freebie to start the year with. I may go to the dockland outlet in Chatham tomorrow to have a look around, apparentely there are so bargins to be had.
Hope everyone has a great day, my arm is so much better and I can bend it a lot better now the stiches are out. I never go out anywhere now without my stick,'that'll larn me' won't it
Cheers folks0 -
Jackie O: Can you not ring up and renew them over the phone? that would (a) save you a journey and (b) save on the ol'petrol? I am lucky that I work across the road from the local library but that said I end up doing it on line at about 2am!!!But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0

Thank you for that little tip Eden, I never thought of that i'll give it a go.I really don't want to fall over again having only just got over the last whoops-a-daisey.( 9 stitches, and a bruised ego & bum).
My own fault entirely as i forgot that I was 17 anymore.

Hi Everyone,
Have just uncovered the guinea pig as Id buried her hutch under blankets to keep out the chill, her water was frozen solid poor thing. She seemed quite chirpy though, if a bit confused as to where all the light had gone!
Today I feel motivated to have a good clear out, will start upstairs in my bedroom I think. Im also going to inventorize (is that a word?) the freezer so I can do some meal planning, and tonight Im going to do some filing. I have a good filing system set up for bills from 13 years ago when we were first married, but have not actually filed anything for about 2 years! So Im going to do an early tea (lamb chops to go in slow cooker, along with sprouts as we still have loads, although I wont put them in the slow cooker!) and then Im going to sit down with a mountain of paperwork.
Just had a quick flick through Martins list of things to do in Xmas hols, Ive noticed our water direct debit has suddently risen from 14.75 per month to 34.75 per month, and last bill we were in credit, so why the increase? Also our gas and elec direct debit has increased despite the prices being capped, again last bill we were in credit. Time to do some shopping around I think.
Today is the first day of my diet, so instead of three rounds of toast with butter, I have had 1 1/2 weetabix made with hot water and sweetener and tea made with skimmed milk and sweetener. My incentive is £200 I received for Xmas which I am going to save for when Ive lost weight so I can treat myself to something new from Next, also may start PMS too so I can really go mad. By summer I WILL be nice and slim!
Johanne I hope you are feeling better, some meds are non drowsy or contain caffeine, I usually discover this when its too late, so Id double the check the box before taking any more at night.
Happy birthday JD's son, my daughter is 10 in a few weeks, I think we will be going bowling too!
Queenie, the 11+ exams in Birmingham are October/November I think and results in March. My DD will be able to take them next year but does not want to. Luckily the secondary schools in this area are all good, but I have bought some practice papers for her to try.
Better go and have a shower I suppose.0 -
I usually find it's that one last sherry makes those pesky bushes leap out at me - the number of times we've been attacked by hydraengas (?) on our way home...... :snow_laugBut I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0

If Only, I was stone cold sober and it was really sore. I was watching my grandaughters netball match. How daft can one feel watched over by 20 inquisitive 12 year olds ohhinh and ahhing as ones arms hanging off !!0

Hi Yall, The house looks like a warzone as I sit in me jammys doing paid2clicks. I havn't dusted/vacced or cleaned except a cursory wipe round the kitchen for over a week:eek: It's all I can do to keep on top of the laundry. The MATHLETS have spend some of their Christmas money on new clothes (their choice) and are currently changing 3/4 times a day! With Mrs MATH adding to the squallor I'm conforting myself with the reasoning that when it gets this bad there are no other depths of badness it can sink to and therfore I may as well leave it until Monday when school/work reopens. Having said that I may summon up enough energy to change the beds tomorrow.
2006 looks like it's going to get off to a good start with a funeral. This is the third year running I've had a friend/relative die Christmas eve/day and had the funeral hanging over Christmas/New Year. Getting a bit fed up with it TBH.(can ya tell)
Breakfast/lunch is cheese and cranberry toasties (eaten as I type)
Dinner this evening is not my concern as we are out at friends.
Scrap that, said friends have just rung to say they're snowed/fogged in. Looks like I've got to go in search of some oven chips or summat.
I May potter into the village later to run some erands - I have to get dressed first tho!
Catch ya laterLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
Afternoon All,
Am feeling quite industrious today, I've started sorting out the loft in prep for our house move. DH has just taken one car load down to the tip, I've a load of tooys put aside for a childrens home not too far away, old clothes have gone to the clothing bin in town. Most of the loft is now packed into boxes and labled as to which room it needs unpacking into. PHEW!
Having said that, there may well be a spanner in the works in terms of the move  Our buyers want to move asap after Feb 16th, the people we are buying from however haven't got a property to move to yet so we are in limbo land. We looked into renting for a time near the new house, just until completion and exchange but have found that the minimum let is 6 monthsSo the long and the short of itis that we either delay the exchange to our buyers and risk loosing them or end up renting for 6 months with the possibility of having to pay both rent AND a mortgage on the new place. Oh decisions, decisions.
Having lost one buyer already (the day the contract arrived  ) we will no doubt end up renting.
Made a HUGE veg curry in the SC over night so thats what we will be having for tea, the whole house stinks of it though
Off to make cheese toasted sarnies in my baby george, the kids love em.
Chat later,
Al.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0
