OH has just gone out for a walk...... please god don't let him slip and break something, I just could not cope with him with a broken limb just now, I am only just beginning to feel ok after my virus... I have actually started sewing after a 3 month break so I must be feeling better......

Very OS today egg and chips with the remains of the trifle for supper......we finished up the cheese with HM bread at lunchtime, just going to watch Martin on Tv then going back up to my sewing room to do a bit more.

Hope the move goes OK CQ I know what its like, we moved 2 years ago, only just round the corner but it was a nightmare.........boxes habging around for weeks, I still have some of the boxes in the attic broken down in case we need them, I had to pay for them so would not throw them out........

In work today, for me. Just had a wander around the sales - bought £12.98 of clothes for £2.98 (because of gift voucher!) Bargain!!

Lots to do here, not as quiet as I would have thought.

Had a good Christmas with family, now back in London. No Christmas food in our flat, so the diet starts today!!!

The flat is relatively tidy, since there has been noone there, but it does need a good old clean, so will be doing that Friday-Monday...

Not very exciting I'm afraid xx
  • Hello all,

At work today and then home to the bombsite I call home. Lots of washing and ironong to be done tonight. Not sure what to have for dinner...will have a rummage in fridge/freezer and see whats what...

After that going to look at budget for 2006...have ordered Martin's book so should have that by Friday hopefully!

DD is at my parents and DH is working on the late shift so the house will be quite and I should get quite a bit done.

    Hi all,
The novelty of the snow has worn off, now I wish it would just go away. I am scared when driving on it and don't like walking on it either (because one year I skidded and fell flat on my backside, the bruising didn't go down for days!).

Having said that, I did brave going into town with OH. He got a new coat in the sales, he wanted a slightly longer one. I didn't get much, but a few lovely half price ornaments for the tree next year and another roll of xmas giftwrap- 42p for 5metres and it's nice too. We were lazy in the morning and went to Tescos and found ourselves in the cafe for cooked breakfasts... I justified that I babysat last night and earned some pennies and we'd run out of milk for cereal anyway.

Have watched MMR, and taken my library book back. Haven't done much cleaning except squirted some bleach in the loo. I have started to take the Xmas decs down, I don't like this funny time after Xmas, it's a bit of an anti climax. OH is back to work tomorrow and I have the rest of the week off but need to do promotion work for my PT business. Maybe the solution is to book a couple of days holiday from work in late Jan/Feb and also we will be booking our summer holiday using Clubcard vouchers so that will be something to look forward to. Much as I love Xmas I am not really a winter person at all and have to make real efforts to keep my spirits up when Xmas has passed.

Anyway... not sure what dinner will be... might use up something from the freezer that won't fit in with my diet so the freezer will be cleared of the 'bad' stuff for when I start on Jan 1st.
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)
  • I have had a very lazy day today and done not at a lot. I read one of my new books until early this morning, then lay in until nearly lunchtime. I have managed to do a couple of loads of washing and hang some and put some in TD. I have made stock from the remains of the turkey which is in the freezer along with two bags filled with leftover turkey for further rubbery type meals and also I have frozen the turkey fat, as I plan to use it when making hm roasties. Tea will be turkey curry and naan bread, oven is warming up at the mo.
I havent had much turkey as have been out for lunch yesterday and boxing day and no turkey on the menu! Luckily we havent had too much chocolate etc this year, as I plan to start my diet in the next couple of days. May have to pop round and borrow TM's bike at this rate!
OH is upstairs attempting to fit together DD2's new loft bed, (looks like its a long job) and apparently there is something missing, may mean a trip back to Ikea.
DD's were upset yesterday as we have had a guinea pig fatality, we had to have a funeral yesterday. Other guinea pig looks a very lonely old lady without her sister to keep her company. I have just wrapped her hutch in old towels to keep out drafts etc as it has gone so cold.
Id better go and make a start on the tea. I think I'll tackle the finances later just so the day is not completely wasted, I plan to visit the shops tomorrow and see if there are any wrapping paper and cards etc still left in the sales, I cant think of a single thing I want to buy in the sales, I havent had a pressie from OH because I just cant think of anything. I'll save it all up and go mad with it when Ive lost lots of weight I think! (Thats supposed to be my incentive!)

CQ - cant wait to hear more about your new house, you must be so pleased, especially about your sons improvement too. I really hope the move is not too traumatic for you.

    Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a great Christmas. We seemed to be all over the place, travelling to see relatives in various parts of the North of England. The bonus of course is that I haven't had to cook over the festive season and tonight we are going to the local Indian restaurant for tea as a treat. Mmmmm.

DS has gone to a football match with his dad tonight courtesy of Dad's wife - hospitality tickets for Man City v Chelsea tonight so I won't see DS until tomorrow.

OH back to work tomorrow so a quiet day for me to get organised. Ebay listings to be done as it is 5p listing day. Also a mountain of ironing and some washing to be done too. I can hardly wait. I haven't ventured to the sales yet, although I did get some things from Next online before the official start of the sale, a loophole they quickly closed! One item arrived this morning, a dressy top which had £24.99 on the tag but I have been charged £8.49. Still waiting for some other items that were delayed. Free P&P too, courtesy of a thread on MSE! :money:

    Have a nice evening everyone!

    Evening all!

Im shattered! Work wasnt especially taxing, just cold and boring and oh so long. I really didnt want to be back in there today at all! I woke up this morning with a face as black as thunder cursing money and everything that goes with it.

On the bright side, managed to get boyf's new current account processed and ran a few errands, and am now in my pj's chilling out. I did all the ironing last night and just have sock balling left. I ran out of laundry powder though so I must make a shopping list, and am shortly going to make dinner, then sort a few tasks out, and then go to bed. Roll on Friday!

I try to be OS but don't always manage what I should working full-time etc BUT....today I've cooked leftovers pie (turkey, pigs in blankets with a HM cheese sauce incl a li'l dollop of mustard). I then decided to cook an apple pie cos I had left over pastry. I have NEVER, EVER used leftovers and certainly not to make a pie. It was totally delish (haven't tried the apple pie yet). I'm so chuffed....and OH even said he was proud of me...lol.

OH has just read what I've typed and said "Pride is a sin you know".....

and.....OH and I have sat together and done a jigsaw....pretty OS too!

    Miss u sweetie...
  • :j yeaah, we've finally had roast Turkey. Incase anyone thinks i'm mad, my Turkey from the Butcher was off, and today he replaced it with the most fabulous stuffed Turkey Crown. It was so delish, we said we would have the same again next year. He obviously had a supplier problem, and had no probs taking it back and replacing it. He also threw in some steaks and stuff to make up for it.

Oter than that we've done some cleaning up whilst OH was at work and the kids have been doing quizes and such.

    Lovely day all in all
