Morning :santa2:
Been up most the night but fell back to sleep again till 7.30. Cold weather is making the pain worse so have taken pain killers already.
1 washload done and in TD. DW half full, so wont go on till after lunch. OH has put a lamb stew in SC with lamb (obviously), potatoe, worcester sauce, swede, carrot, red onion, peas and tin of beans. Smells lovely already.
SIL here today to do a few jobs around the house :j
Hope everyone is well.

Morning all.
CQ I hope you are so happy in your new home and it is the start of a brand new life for you.
The house is a bombsite and we have virtually no clothes to wear so I'm concentrating on the mount everest of washing I have to get done. I'm so tired, with DH at work over christmas it has been really hard work for me and I'm glad it's over for the first time ever.
Really overstretched financially this christmas but Mum has offered to pay for the new tv for me so that will relieve the finances a little but this year is going to be the one where I pull all the strings in and tighten everything until it squeaksOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Nose back to the grindstone today - although I am working from home so nothing too taxing!
Got back from skiing late on Boxing Day, so yesterday was spent dealing with the 5 loads of washing we generated! Only ski jackets & salopettes left to do. The house resembles a chinese laundry with washing draped everywhere; I've used it as an excuse to flick the CH onto constant.
Chicken Fajitas for dinner tonight - because we were away for Xmas we must be the only house in the street not groaning under the weight of leftovers.
My wonderful OH bought me a flight to New York for Xmas - my friend will be working over there for a couple of weeks so I'm going out to stay with her for the weekend. I can't wait! Roll on 19th Jan0 -
Hiya!
Been up for ages, DS1 & 2 were up and dressed at 5.45am - !!!!!!?? I really don't know where they find all that energywell at least they didn't disturb me straight away I spose. OH went back to work so things feel kinda normal, I can't wait for next week though when the kids go back to school etc, need to go out for long walks with DD in her pram to shift some of this excess blubber I've gained recently
Anyway, got a Tesco delivery coming this afternoon so not planning to do much else today apart from catching up with washing/ironing and deciding what I'm gonna cook for tonight :rolleyes:Mortgage-free wannabe!0 -
Morning all :snow_grin
CQ - I hope that your move goes well today.
Well, I made it home last night safely. The train was ok - all one carriage of it. My mum seemed shocked when she called me to see whether I was back home ok, and I was still 20 mins from my destination: it's just that it stopped at every little station on the way!
According to OH we have "no food". Hmmm, yes his weetabix (tesco own brand, obviously) are lowish, but not "critical" and we have a store cupboard to make others feel envious - oh and a freezer full of chilli con carne, bolognese sauce, veggie pasta sauce AND meat. Ok, we're running low on milk and eggs but I'll walk into town to get some and leave the big Tesco shop for tomorrow when I'm going that way. Typical :wall:
Speaking of which, I really need to get a move on. I need a shower and then a hop, skip and a jump - or not - into town.

A bit of topic I know but did anyone hear about the mum of 5 who died on christmas eve? Apparently she had borrowed money from a loan shark to buy presents for her kids and hid them up in the loft, when she tried to retrieve them she fell from the loft and died, it was the loan shark who discovered her body when he went to get his first payment from her on christmas eve.
It made me so sad, I bet those kids would rather have their mum with them now than any amount of presentsOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Yes, I heard this,I hadn't realised about the loan shark though.What a truly awful story,those poor children.0

:xmassign: Morning all and a happy belated christmas to you all . I have had such a busy time that I havn't been able to post. We were supposed to be visiting MIL yesterday and today but we live in the south east where we appear to have been transported to a Christmas scene in a christmas card! No chance of FIL driving in this without crashing the BMW (and I would never live that down if he was on his way to get us would I  )
At least it has given me a change to have a good old tidy up and sort out, I was ruthless yesterday but now we have much more room for our new things! We played simpsons scrabble last night and were up until 1am. It was so nice to finally relax and spend some time alone. We will have to re arrange our trip to the in-laws at the moment we are stuck at home.
Sales would be lovely but we won't be driving anywhere and I can't see the bus bgetting up here so its t'internet for me today! I measured the snow earlier and we have had six inches, I can't even see the pond anymore!
We have plenty of food left so we won't go hungry, turkey soup is in the SC. We are going to make smoothies later with the smoothie maker my dad got mum. I picked up about 20 bags on clementines and some bananas on christmas eve that sainsburys paid me to take away so we have plenty of fruit to play with :j .
I think today will just be a lazy day playing with all our new toys! I hope everyone has a nice day, don't drive in the snow unless u have too!!! Be safe and keep warm!0 -
Well we've been out sledging down hills and DD's are exhausted and very cold - they're thawing out with hot choccy and biscuits whilst sitting under a duvet watching telly. DH made it to work after sliding out the drive and going the opposite way to which he wanted.....I told him not to bother going but he insisted he was "needed"....he's going to be on his way home soon as it's all hills and freezing steadily.
I've cleared the kitchen (and taken down the decs in there - I know it might be bad luck but they were getting on my nerves) the washing is all clean and dry and folded on my bed - can't actually see the bed tho so that's the next job, DD's can help put it away and I'll make a start on the ironing.
Gammon, potato and veg soup for tea, going to make a pizza dough up too, will roll it out and sprinkle with garlic butter and cheese, roll it and bake it for a nice share/tear bread with the soup.
This afternoon will be spent with a roaring log fire (if I manage to get the shed open to get some wood out) a couple of board games and a glass of something nice....well - I'm still in chirstmas mode - it's allowed!
Hope you're all having fun."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
