    Great news CQ!

I've had a lovely past couple of days, have spent it with family. Too much food, but never mind! Will start diet in New Year. We played lots of board games yesterday which was good fun and got us away from the TV.

There's loads of snow here in Suffolk- plenty enough for a snowman. I love the look of it but I'm pathetic when it comes to the cold/winter so shall just admire it from the window here in the warm!

I went on a cleaning frenzy on Xmas Eve and as we've spent most of past 2 days at other peoples houses there's not much to have to clean. Washed bedding yesterday, might put on a darks wash. I might do a bit of study as well. We'd thought of going to a nearby town to look at sales stuff but now with the snow I don't fancy it.

    Have a good day all,
    Sarah

    Hi all :xmassmile

PP - sorry to hear that you didn't have a great day yesterday. It's never fun being with people you hardly know. I'm dreading New Year's Eve for that very reason.

CQ - :j :j :j Woohoo! Congratulations on your new house! I hope that the move goes well. I'm really pleased to hear about your son too!

I'm still at my parents' house, and on the internet with the excuse that I'm downloading the update of their security/virus thing. OH does this in our house (being an IT bod), so I hope I'm doing the right thing. :D

I SHOULD be going home today, but my mum has said that if it snows any more then they won't be taking me anywhere.  I knew I should have driven! There's only a very small smattering of snow here in Lincolnshire, so surely I can go home. Please? :D

Have a good day everyone :snow_grin

  • OH went to the Next sale this morning at 5am and spent £149, but did get some great bargains ;) 4 good shirts for himself, 2 silk ties, pj's, 14 pairs of boxers, 16 pairs of socks, got me 2 long skirts (classic A-line that wont date) 3 x lovely tops, 2 pairs of funky thick tights and a gorgeous bag  think my SIL helped him out abit..LOL. Have spent alot over the past 3 days but have bought stuff we've needed and all pressies are sorted for 2006 and possibly beyond..lol. Totalling it up though, we have saved a packet. All clothes have been practical and items that dont need dry cleaning and all DD's stuff has been for the next year so should last a while...hopefully anyway.

Snowing has stopped here and have managed to do:

    1 washload and TD
    Toilet cleaned
    Stairs hoovered by OH
    DD is doing her bedroom
Downstairs swept and moped through by OH-pulled everything out :p
    Bathroom cleaned
    Kitchen all done
    DW cleaning ATM
Sorted through OH's pant/sock drawer and have binned a load

SIL is coming tomorrow instead as Im not feeling to good today.

Just having some soup and baguette with OH as Im starving and think im gonna do a chicken curry with left over chicken from Xmas day on a jacket spud for lunch.

    PP

    Morning!

Great news CQ - hope the move goes well!

Starlorna22 - must have been the night for bad dreams, my other half was having loads of them too!

Woke up reasonably early today, and have already been to the next sale. Picked up about £200 worth of clothes and then reassessed the stuff id picked up until I hit the £50 mark. I have to return two of the items though as they didnt quite fit, so can treat myself a little more, and got an excellent pair of jeans for £12.49, which are slightly tight on the waist (I can do them up though!) but I figure they are worth it as intend to go on a diet in the new year, and could wear them even if I didnt lose weight. I got a lovely green top too, but its a little low cut so I shall need to wear a vest or something underneath.

Intend to go out again today as the boyf is in a decent sleeping pattern and is awake in the day, so I dont really want to waste a day off work (got to go back tomorrow - boo!!) Im thinking of getting him to take me to matalan or somewhere (or even TK maxx) so I can buy a few more bits, as im looking for a red wallet still and couldnt find one at next. This evening I intend to do the 2006 budget as I still havent got around to it, mainly because im doing a lot of napping in the afternoon. I must be tired.

Anyway, the boyf is hungry so ill make him a bacon buttie and take a shower so we can go out. Need to have a quick clean up too as its a bit of a mess and there is a strange mark on the carpet that needs seeing too....

    Have a nice day all!

Good Luck CQ you have waited long enough for it, hope the move goes well....

We have a dusting of snow here, it did try to snow earlier but gave up the ghost.... we often do not get snow when the rest of the country is blattered with it, something to do with the fact that we are surrounded by hills and the snow drops before it gets to us.... its still very cold though.

I sliced up the remains of the pork and its in thr freezer for a sunday supper, we finished off the bacon joint with ssome pork pie and tomato and celery salad, macoroni cheese tonight....back to OS food from now on.

Nothing planned, will see what the day brings......

Living in the sunny? Midlands, where the pork pies come from:

saving for a trip to Florida and NYC Spring 2008

    Total so far £14.00!!

    Good morning!

Curry Queen - Thats fantastic news! Hope everything carries on on such a good note! :j

Had a lie in till 10am as had had a tiring few days and my neighbours had a party last night so i couldnt get to sleep till about 1am, woke up at 9am but lay in bed thinking about everything i wanna do over next few days/weeks.

Planning on sorting all the "odd" jobs in the house that have been bugging me since sept when had workmen in who wrecked the place! :( So rang my mum asking if B&Q delivered and how much (as i wont be able to walk home with everything i want!) Turns out half of what i wanted mum and dad have in their shed!! So mums gonna dig it out and let me use it free of charge!.. so shall spend the next few days.. gluing, hammering, grouting, filling, painting etc etc hopefully!

Spending this morning sorting out my budget for 2006.. Bit stuck though as i still dont know employment situation so therefore income!! GUESSING ive been fired.. but unsure how much benefit im entitiled to while i look for work.. and still waiting on my landlord to get back to me over my friend moving in with me in my spare room. As straight away that solves most problems as his £325 a month rent would mean i only need to find £400 a month take home pay to cover my half of the house bills plus my personal bills like mobile and credit card. So im just working out what i will have to spend. Then when i find out the income figures i will have to re-jig it maybe.

Totally stuffed from all the Christmas food at my mums... havent cooked in my own house since xmas eve morning.. so just in the process of making a light jacket spud for brunch! Then might just have some pasta or something tonight... brought a "doggy bag" home from the buffet yesterday at my mums so got a few bits to nibble on through the day as snacks if i get peckish! :)

Nice one Curry Queen! Hope all goes well.

And its proof that nice things really do happen to Nice People!!! :j

Anyone saw Eastenders and The Slater Christmas lunch speech? Well thats how I feel.

2004+2005 have been terrible for us as a family. I have worked damn hard to keep this familys heads up and together. And I say

2006? Bring it on! fighting30.gif Cos I am ready and waiting for you this time!

Did a bit of sale shopping, not much, but hey. Kids spent their vouchers already and almost all of the food has gone!

Have my bestest mate coming tomorrow - shes based in germany at the moment, so its only a short overnighter. OH is baby-sitting and we are off out! So its all hands on deck, bathroom done, kitchen done, WM going mad and about to tackle the front room and make some food (shes veggie and I actually find her difficult to feed!!!)

OH has taken DD3 (3yo) to the pet shop to see the snakes and spiders  and have been warned not to bring any home!!!

And PS - Patrick Stewart on Xmas Eve - was well worth the back row seats!!!!!

Glad a merry time was had by all (one way or other!)

Hey Curry Queen, that is fantastic news, I am so pleased for you! You'll get through the move, you know you want to - so ya will! Good news about your son too, I know he's been a worry for you for a while now.

JW...a VEST??? NOooooo!!!! Get yourself a Wonderbra and make your b'friend jealous when all the guys stop to stare at you!! Believe me, if you think he doesn't appreciate you he will after an evening where other men find you totally alluring...

Today I was up before dawn and off to the Next sale. Unfortunately my physical health has come 2nd fiddle to my mental health this past few years, and as a result there isn't a single thing in Next that fits...other than shoes, earrings, perfume etc ha ha. But I did manage to get slippers, trainers, two kitty cups, a diary and a fitted sheet all for £25. It's all stuff I need - and a bit of a treat too.

While I was in the mood I went off round the rest of the shops...got a necklace for my sister's 40th (it was in January, bought her stuff then but she never showed up to collect it despite saying she would so I returned it)...the necklace was £500 - reduced to £150. It's 18ct gold and v.nice. If she doesn't want it I'll have it myself. Also got some work shoes (tenner off), hiking boots (£80 reduced to £30), a new handbag (£25) and a pinboard (£2). On Christmas Eve I managed to get two chickens for £1.50, plus some mince so they will be rubberised Old Style until the end of Jan.

Made some gorgeous celery soup last night...started with a recipe on old style, then deviated somewhat as I didn't have everything necessary in for it and chucked in extra onion, herbs and a leek. It was yum, froze some of it for use in the New Year.

Am off to London on Thursday for New Year - hope the snow doesn't affect my flights.
