hello all.
have had a nice boxing day, but am now dealing with an overwrought two and a half year old, so I have started on my homemade chocolate and brandy cream liquer. ( bit like a cross between baileys and tia lusso). I'd ppost the recipe, but am shortly going to be incapable of typing, hic.:rotfl::beer:
Tomorrow I have to do the full Christmas day thing with the Turkey for the kids who have been at their other parents for Christmas, and have the present openings etc. So It's Christmas say all over again, lol. Bit like Groundhog day
Hope everyone is having a nice time,0 -
Happy Boxing Day all!!!
Niki - My sympathies are with you - we all got the BUG too - must be a Kent thing!
Christmas day was lovely - very quiet - very relaxed and lots of games and time with the kids.... due to the fact that none of us were up to eating anything apart from toast we spent very little time in the kitchen and enjoyed the kids toys (probably more than they did!!) My parents popped in today to give DD's their pressies but didn't stay too long as we just feel so knackered. Tomorrow we've got nothing planned and it's going to be fantastic......I sense a crafty day coming on - DD's got so many craft things, can't wait!!
The majority of the turkey is in the freezer in bags for times when we fancy it, we did manage to make a stock and that's been frozen down too. I cooked a gammon joint in the slow cooker yesterday and that's been sliced and frozen too.....we're left with huge amounts of alcohol that we don't fancy (yet) and ten ton of choccies.....I couldn't get out and get my fresh veg and bits so we're making do (probably saved a small fortune too).
Hope you've all had a wonderful time and although I wouldn't wish this bug upon anyone DH and I have lost nearly a stone and a half between us since Friday morning.......that's kick started the new years diet! :j"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
we've just had our boxing day turkey (we wanted to try it our way in our own home) and it was wonderful! (even though I forgot to cook the stuffing! ) I'm now supping homebrew goosberry wine which is extemely strong
I think we're gonna have to get the bikes out tomorrow to burn this lot off!2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix :beer:0 -
Feeling very fat. I knew I should have invested in stretchy jeans.
I've got a clean pair of jeans upstairs, but I daren't put them on as I don't think I'd be able to do the buttons up. Ah well!
I've spoken to OH, who is back at home, and he proudly told me that instead of searching around for a Chinese takeaway that was open he just looked inside the fridge and made a bacon omlette, with new potatoes. I'm training him well. This was after the fry-up that he had in the canteen at work this morning.
Oh, and my parents have said that they'll drive me back home tomorrow  thus saving me a train fare! Hurrah :j

Evening all
Managed about 5 miles on me new bike, soquite pleased - however, not that impressed that I couldn't change gear. 27 to choose from and I have to do the lot in 1! Dunno whether it's me (probably) or the gears need adjusting so may make a quick trip to bike shop to ask. I shall also let you know how the butt-tocks are tomorrow, too :snow_grin
Been at mum's most of this afternoon and evening. Between us we put on a huge buffet so everyone is stuffed, although I didn't go too mad and haven't had a drink all day. Mind you, I prefer waking up with a clear head.
SIL is going home tomorrow. I've been laughing at her (in the nicest way - she's turned up with her knitting and been telling everyone here how she and all her friends knit away in the evenings. I've told her to get a slow cooker and embrace the return to OS with a passion
Ok, off to bed now. I fear the kids will still be awake at 6.30 despite the fact they are both worn out and not used to these late nights. Have a good evening (what's left of it) and (((hugs))) to all in need, esp Queenie.

Morning All :santa2:
Not had a good night  Never mind!
OH has gone to the Next sale with SIL, I dont think they would have apreciated me in a wheelchair  mainly bits needed for OH: trousers, shirts, ties, suit, anything for me..lol and some bits for DD. Told him to just grab stuff and we can take back whats not like/needed. Dread to think the costing
Washload ready to go on abit later and dried in TD as so cold and wet here this morning, but no snow! Toilet cleaned. Have SIL coming today to do some bits around the house, hopefully all the ironing tooNeed some of DD's jeans turned up and im rubbish at anything like that so may ask this also, shes a dab hand with a needle and thread
Have DD's friend over tonight, so will need OH to sort out a bed on the floor for one of them.
Bowling didnt go well yesterday. OH decided to leave me and DD with people we hardly knew whilst he went off  didnt see him for an hour-i was not best pleased, infact i was fuming. Id had a bad 2 days (xmas is always hard for me-another story..lol!) and he just dumped me, I couldnt play either as I couldnt pick the balls up and even use the kiddies thing  Went to our mates after and had a nice evening, buffet and played Pictionary Mania and Disney Trivial Pursuit....it was a good laugh.
Anyways, breakie; cereal and toast. Lunch: Lamb chop, new pots and veg/DD:sandwich, yogurt and crisps. Dinner: Pie, mash and veg
Will catch up later.

Hello PP & everybody,
We have had some terrible weather here the last few days. Soooo very hot. This morning I braved the shops and bought next year's supply of xmas cards, paper, a few bits and bobs for the tree & a calender. The prices were great and I got some great bargains. :jThanks for the tip on buying xmas paper without xmassy designs (I really had to look) but now I have quite a few rolls I can use for birthdays etc during the year. Very good savings.
This afternoon I haven't been doing much in this heat. Been watching a bit of the cricket. It's about as exciting as watching grass grow. We have still plenty of leftovers so I don't have to worry much on the food front. Hope you all have a nice day and sorry to hear you didn't enjoy yourself yesterday PP. My DH often does that but I can talk under wet cement so I usually find some poor soul's ear.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning all:santa2:
Can't sleep, but hey ho!
Woken up to a light dusting of snow, but it's forecast to get worse, My eldest Daughters came over last night, and my OH's daughter is being collected this morning, so we will have another Christmas day today. :xmastree:
So today I shall be roasting turkey and eating Christmas pud, and unwrapping presents. At least we can say we have had a white Christmas.:rudolf: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I'm really looking forward to lunch, it's nice to have all the Children together.
Have a nice day, and to those in need,

Hi everyone :santa2:
I've woken up pretty early for me (to say I'm off work) as my boyfriend woke me up by elbowing me in the noseHe was having a bad dream - felt awful when I told him! So after that I just couldn't get back to sleep and decided to get up.
As part of my Xmas present I should have been going to Scotland to go Snowboarding today, but it's cancelled as there isn't enough snow, I'm sooooo disappointed.
The boyf says he will take me on a couple of days out to make up for it, so today we're going to Hebden Bridge for a look around the shops (if they're open). I also want to have a look round the charity cshops as they start to get people's unwanted Xmas presents about now.
Will go and do some cleaning up now as the house is a complete tip!!
Hope everone had a lovely Xmas

jacket pots in oven for lunch. ive cleaned out the fridge so i can see what we have to use up today and most things could be used for JP toppings so thats what we are having. DS1 & 2 are cleaning their bedroom as its a right mess and i am trying to match up clothes recieved for xmas with the right children! ironing is over flowing so i might have to do some this evening  ...maybe!
today is going to be a tidying day and i have listed a few things on ebay, and will list a few more, hopefully make some cash to pay more off my CC. none of us are going out anywhere today so i will get as much done in the house as i can.
feel guilty about the amount of rubbish left for dustmen, so may well go through it all later and see what i can save for recycling.
have a good day everyone!November NSD's - 70
