Went out to bike shops to find them both closed so gave the town centre a miss due to traffic, but hit both Aldi and Lidl - managed to get both boys their birthday pressies (May) from today's special offers. Still, I can always tke them back if I find something better in the sale :D

Off to make a turkey korma now - yum yum. May even treat myself to a brandy and either baileys or babycham. Haven't had a drink since Xmas afternoon, and I've been doing most of the work, so that's my excuse (Like I need one) :D

Better fire up the BM and check to see if 2nd load has finished in WM. Oh, and VCR didn't taple MMR so a bit peeved :( Never mind, hopefully ITV will repeat it soon - apparently they have had lots of complimentary emails :D

CQ - Great news - really pleased for you.

It's been snowball fights for most of the day here - DD's have recovered fully (amazing what a bit of snow can do for them) and have been tearing around the garden like loons.

DH and I had a slow start and pottered about loading the WM and DW and TD. Cold meats and pickles for lunch - my HM chilli pickle onions are really quite powerfull! Played board games for most of the afternoon but made the effort to go out for a walk at 3.30pm....just in time for it to start snowing really hard again but it was worth it to see the stunning orangey/pink sunset over the sea. Back home for hot choccy and a warm up in the bath for DD's. They've demanded egg, chips and beans for tea so I shall go do that for them in a mo. DH is sparko but I shall let him sleep - he's got work tomorrow and he's still not 100%.

I've got so much food that I didn't get round to cooking that I don't need to buy a thing for our New Years eve party, I've just tweeked the menu to use up all the spare bits........just how many dishes can I come up with that include cocktail sausages :snow_laug

Hope you all had a great holiday......sympathies to those going back to work tomorrow!

    Evening!

I decided to return to next to take back the stuff that didnt fit and get some other stuff but they arent accepting returns till thursday. I was like, !!!!!!?? There isnt a queue - hardly like I was holding anyone up!

I bought two other tops that ive yet to try on and nipped into ikea to get some door hooks to hang up the coats etc, and then tried to place an order online with Next. More fool me, it kept crashing, and I really wanted a duvet set they had and by the time id finally got to placing the order, it was bloody gone! I decided to swap it for another one I liked, and that had gone too! I could have screamed! I ordered £100 worth of stuff for me, mainly smartish stuff since im going for a new job soon, and if they dont fit either, they can go back. Speaking of which, I need to send back that DVD player to Boots tomorrow before I forget too, I dont want to have a broken dvd player in the house for all of eternity.

Ive cleaned up anyway and fed us from (hangs head in shame) burger king, and am about to do budget and diet planner things. Im feeling a bit tired now though and still have a mountain of ironing to do, so I think I might just have a cuppa in front of futurama first, then attack the things to do list.

Hope you all had a good day!

Wow - Its good to be back! Xmas is over and done with thank goodness, I always find it such an anticlimax. I'm hoping it will get better as the kids get older. At 1, 2 & 3 they are too young to really get into the swing of things.

My house looks awful, clothes everywhere. WM has done 2 loads today and is currently spinning its 3rd. Clothes horse is full so will be strung up in the bathroom. Went to the next sale at 5am at Lakeside today and stocked up on bits for kids for the next year. They normally dont have much for boys but this year managed to get a pair of jeans, joggers and 4 tops for DD.

Will be hitting the stores again tomorrow as there are some bits we need which are cheap(er) now. Really need to get some kind of storage for kids toys, stackable boxes or something. Our front room is small anyway and with toys everywhere its awful so thats top of the list.

Its snowing hard here now, dont know if its settling, might just freeze as ice.

Have given kids a bath and come downstairs to find that DH has gone to get SHOP BOUGHT pizza for tea  . Oh well, its bought now so nothing I can do but eat and enjoy.

I'm going to have a quick trawl through the posts now and catch up,3 days away feels like a lifetime!

Hope you are all happy and healthy.

    Love to all,
    Allison

Loads of snow here this morning so anyone out there driving please take very good care on the roads today. DS2 is coming to pick me up this morning to take me to my new house so I'll be worrying like a mother hen until he gets here safely

    Morning All,

Its COLD this morning isn't it? Only a thin dusting of snow here but its all frozen.

Shocking nights sleep thanks to DD2(1), at least DH is off work this week so I can go back to bed later :p My back is aching too as our bed is totally knackered. We have treated ourselves to a new one in the sales which should be here in the next couple of weeks, am hoping that will ease things a bit.

Am seeing my GP today to review how things are going.re.depression. Dont know what will happen really, two weeks ago she doubled my dosage of the happy pills but I dont know if its started to work yet or not.

Off to make a coffee for me and a nice bottle of warm milk for DD.

    Have a good day all,
    Al.

7.30 is not too early at all, but OH has been letting me have lay-ins all over Christmas, So I thought I would let him have a turn this morning!

Will have to get up DD1 and 2 soon to look after DD3 and 4 for me as I want to go to Tescos as soon as possible and avoid the queues.

Is Chilly here, but not to bad. No new snow this morning, just some frost and turned it to ice, so I will go very careful this morning.

Making Chicken Pie today with the leftovers and we will have that for dinner tomorrow. Off out tonight as friend is visiting, but it will be somewhere very cheap (Meal and coke for a £5 sort of thing!) Sadly her BF is coming too. Don't like him and it means that we cant chat either. Also means I have to buy him a pressie (Sales/Tescos!).

MW is going mental again (It astounds me how much washing this household can generate!!!), a quick tidy up of the computer desk, as that has everything dumped on it, and we are clean and tidy and ready for the visit!

    Have a nice day all!

I hope PP you got some sleep - and sorry you didn't Kiwi! And CQ - make suere you come back later and tell us/describe what your new place is like!!

    Hiya everyone :hello:

I have to say when I saw that CQ had started this thread, I had a little chuckle - what with it being the 'day of the keys', you must be all excited/nervous etc. Hope you've got to grips with all that packing CQ and haven't spent your time idly chatting (except to me, that's allowed :D)

DS2 up and had his brekkie but the rest are all sound asleep. I went to bed early lst night - 10.30ish but couldn't get to sleep:( However, DS2 didn't wake till after 7 so not too bad.

DW and BM are on and I've retreated here with my porridge and :coffee: In a while I'll brave going into the garage to put WM on again. I'd best put the heater on in there to stop the pipes freezing and help the freezer along. At least the pan of stock in there will be cold enough :D Will bag it and freeze it later as well.

Mr TM and MIL want to take boys to pictures today. Yippee, couple of hours to myself. Will go to bike shop (should be open today) and have a cheque to put into bank, so will head for town. I have my new cd's to listen to whilst I'm queuing for the car parks  We've no snow but it is flippin' cold here - we're to get the snow on Friday (just when we need to take MIL to airport)

Right, I'm off to sort MSN messenger out, so if you don't hear from me for a while, you lot message me - I'll have lost my contacts list or summat ;) (I'm so technical, can't you tell :))

Take care and have a good day

    TM
