What's it got to do with you if he does it or not?!

If you don't want you postie doing this, thats fine, but I for one am really pleased when my postie signs for my items as it means I don't have to make a 15 mile round trip to the sorting office.

I don't know where you would stand but I know that it would be a dispicable thing to do!

How pathetic to consider lying to get someone into trouble for trying to help you.

    Good for you

Glad your postie breaks the rules just to suit you.

had a really bad postie at my old address who stole mail, shoved it round the alley way and allsorts of wierd things but i have never ever complained about something so ridiculous as this. if i was the person you had phoned to complain to id have laughed and hung up on you (sorry but its true)
the fact is he/she was trying to help you out and has done so on 3 occasions...he bent the rules so you didnt have to go out of your way to pick it up....when you should have been in in the first place to sign for it......

to put it in a simpler way.....when you get on the bus and a bus driver doesnt charge you he presses the friend/family button or whatever...hes doing that to help you out
when the woman in the shop lets you off with a few pence shes helping you out

to complain because somebody has helped you out, NO MATTER WHAT YOUR RIGHTS is crazy and that is the problem with the world today

I'd be very happy if my postie signed for things on my behalf and then left the items in my porch, it would save me soo much hassle of getting to the post office to collect it. As long as he's not leaving it outside for the whole world to see i don't see a problem with him doing that, unless you like trips to the post office??

Don't complain, maybe say thanks when you see him!!!!

our regular postie does this, however tomorrow i've got to drive to the sorting office where there is no parking on site, pay £2 to park at a nearby car park and then queue for ages to get my item.

would rather have had it signed and posted then i could have used my breadmaker tonight to make pizza for tea (new paddle for bm)

i'd report it, if it's anything like the mail service by me all kind of capers occur, my letters get posted to the same numbered house in the next street, I get my next door neighbours mail sometimes, I also get mail for a house thats a bit off-route behind my house!!! my neighbour on the left gets mail addressed to my neighbour on my right. I've even had letters for someone that's never lived here!!!

I'm sure the options are 1. collect from sorting office 2. call sorting office to arrange re-delivery 3. call sorting office to collect form a post office ???

Well thats what's on the card I get.
  • Recorded delivery is a waste of money in the first place if you are sending something. You get the same level of service and protection by simply getting a certificate of posting. Rd is treated no differently than 1st class.

Your postman is saving you time and money by doing this. I am sure that if it was a special delivery item then a card would have to be left given the timescales and penalties involved if it is not delivered on time.
