youd have to be a vindictive person to do that, my postie has done this himself and im very grateful for him doing it too, saves me traipsing down to my local depot and messing about picking up an item.0

Hes done you a favour. Nothing worse than traipsing down to the post office on a Friday teatime to stand in a queue with all the old dears!!TRYING hard to be a good money saver :rolleyes:0

No he probably shouldn't do it as it is putting his job at risk should someone decide to report the goods not turning up.
One of my postmen did it the other day and I was extremely grateful as it meant not making a 15 mile round trip to collect it, although a different postie will just put the card through and I'll have to collect it.
At the end of the day the postie did you a favour.2020 Mortgage-Free Wannabes #20 £1495.03/£2760 OP0 -
He's only helping you out - don't let him lose his job over it0

My postie does it for me and i appreciate it. Dont get him into trouble by making an issue of it. If he hadnt done it you would be messing around to pick it up. Also, please dont try to say stuff didnt turn up. Its just plain dishonest and will get the guy into trouble. Hes just trying to make a living and make life easier for both him and you.0

my postie does it for me as well but I think its because hes pretty familar with us after all these years.....he also leaves parcels with neighbours in the street if someones not home.....i think its a trust thing really but I also do understand what your saying here.'Normal' is a dryer setting.0

It would just be as easy for your postie to leave a card to say that you were not in. As the others have said saving you the time and effort of having to go and collect them yourself.
What he is doing is trying to help you. If it bothers you that much, when you next see him tell him to stop doing it.
I would be grateful if it were me.Jellynose0 -
If you are truely incensed by his fraudulent actions (signing to say you have accepted the item) you do have a leg to stand on fraud is fraud whether he is doing you a favour or not. As far as it goes with delivering times, i recently contacted Royal Mail regading the lateness of our postie by their regulations all post should be out and delivered by 2pm - we are lucky if he has been near by that time. One of our posties faults is that he is constantly on his mobile fone, if he put the blessed thing away he would be done in half the time, but he plods along like he has not got a care in the world texting away and making calls and because of this he does not read the mail correctly so we are often popping round neighbours to drop of their mail and retreive our own. My main reason for complaint was because we had received two letters from a bank one hapened to be a credit card and the other was the pin (i know this because the lady thanked us for our honesty in returning it to her) this to dishonest people could have been a shopping heaven.
In regards to you saying you have not received an item just because you personally did not sign for it would also equal fraud and is another reason why items from places like catalogues are so extortionate, to cover costs of things that are supposedly lost in transit.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

If you object to this, why not try and catch postie one day, or leave a note, to say you would prefer he left a card in future rather than did this.
Personally I would be glad not to have to go to the depot but of course it is up to you.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
