    Evening all

Well I passed my first aid refresher which was a result as dd(23) refused to be bandaged or "recovered" last night as she was off out for Eid celebrations (Eid Mubarrakh btw for anyone else celebrating) and dd(12) was still miffed about having been sent to school with a sore throat and also refused with a "like you'd care if my arm was broken." School phoned today to say she was not very well at all and would it be ok to give her a nurofen and a couple of Soothers. I will probably keep her off tomorrow, especially as she's just rembered that she needs 5 stir-fryable veggies, but have made her go to bed and be bored

I've been having fun with this http://www.chorebuster.net - it has randomly assigned all the worst jobs to dd(23) this week which is nice for me. The girls are quite keen as it's all a bit technical and clever and much simpler than e barking orders for three days and then giving up and doing it myself. I'm just playing with it at the moment as I do need Pigpen's nagging really but if it manages to get the girls to help out more it will be great.

anyhoo hugs and congrats all round - best of luck tired mum

    Evening all,

Think that it has been a strange day all round...nothing as exiting as yours could have been Hester!

Am still husbandless...they are having to play round with his Warfarin dosage...he is on 8mg today, it was 7 yesterday and 5 for the previous few days, so I would imagine that we are a couple of days away from home coming, think that it has to be stabilised before he will be discharged...he is fed up as is not sick and spends his day roaming in and out. Forget who asked but his name is pronounced U lick...have only come across it in Ireland and not even widely here, his father was also Ulick...read somewhere that it is a derivative of William but haven't really looked too closely...have enough trouble with surnames in my family to go after first names too!
Had a laugh this afternoon with DDs 3 & 4...we were trying to come up with something to interest him and keep him away from tv, cigarettes and wine...suggestions were things like getting a pig...I said do you mean to kill for Christmas...shock horror...no a pet pig...was just waiting for the Vietnamese pot belly suggestion but that didn't happen. Then we had chickens...he won't hear tell of that I know I tried it before. Then the suggestion came that we get DGS2 a dog for his birthday (3 weeks time) and get Ulick to look after it, walk it train it etc....rang a friend who had a sister of our last dog, that sister is now 13 and not in great shape, but he has a 2 year old daughter of hers which he is happy to give us as she is not a great working dog (farmer) and he would not miss her...so plan is that when Ulick comes home I take him and DGS2 to 'visit' and we take Roxy ( not sure about name but not my dog!) home with us...we have told Ulick but reckon that DGS will be dead chuffed, to get his Daideo back home and a dog of his own all in the same week!

Still haven't done any painting, seem to be just 'floating' most of the time so am just letting it happen...should be in Sardinia anyway until Monday next so will use that as an excuse until then.

Hugs to all in need or want and congratulations to all who are celebrating

    Sleep well,

    Finally got back,
Had hair cut this morning, then rang a friend who lives in Coventry. She has been so ill, with cancer which was in remission, but it seems to have flared up again. So I asked if she fancied visitors, then we jumped on the M42 and went over.
I could have cried when I saw her, she is swollen up like a balloon, and keeps drifting off its the morphine that does it.
Her DB and SIL were there too so we had a real catch up. At least she had a laugh and said it made her feel better.

    Marie is Ulick home yet?
Well done on passing stefejb :T
Hester takeaway crack:eek: it beggars belief the things you can get delivered now

Hope all the poorly's feel better soon and anyone who needs one here you go (((hugs)))

Well I am off to relax on the sofa for a bit , see you all tomorrow.

Pippa, I DID enjoy my wine :D Hope you felt better for seeing your friend :grouphug: I remember morphine used to make my dad drifty too.

Chrisca - thanks for the link :)

Sunny Day - can't get on the website but will keep trying, thank you. Mr T's had a space & shelf label but no wind-up torches yesterday.

Still need to buy a new hottie - I have a furry hippo cover, one of two that were bought by my mum when my DS's were small, the other lives in London with DS2 ;). Hopefully OH will be home tomorrow, so my cold feet can go on him!

Am a busy bee tomorrow, other secretary is off, so I'm in 8.30 - 5pm with my exec director + an assistant director, then dash home, change & out for a leaving do....Whatatwit & Morwenna, what is The Mews like in Poulton??

    Love & hugs to all

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Hello!

I though I was almost over my bug after 10 days of spluttering but the last 2 days I have been running out of steam and have had a sharp stabbing pain on one side when I take a deep breath or cough, dh decided enough was enough and got me to the drs and I have pleurisy!! and have been given anti-biotics to deal with it, so be warned if you get this flu bug give it respect and rest, rest, rest.

I have just had to put the heating on here for a while, as I was sooo cold! I was determined to wait as long as I could but couldn't get warm so had to give in. I am tucked up in bed, snug as a bug in a rug, with our new slumberland mattress topper from Aldi (£50 instead of £80 at Argos) it really does make the bed warmer. Also got my bed socks on:o and a very cuddly cockapoo is snuggling up!

(((hugs))) to Marie and Ulick, best everything is stabilised before he gets home. The new dog sounds like a wonderful plan.

    Happy Birthday Math

Happy wedding anniversary to Charlies Mum and Dad

(((hugs))) to PP, Smoky, Mrs Mix, and anyone who needs one
