edited to say i cant thank people it wont let me0 -
I think lack of sleep is clouding my judgement. I am going to start rummaging in the depths of my junk for patterns for bags. You see, I found a nice pattern for a wiggly scarf in an old magazine, and in the same magazine was a suggestion for knitting with video tape...
But on the plus side I took little bear to the newsagents where he flirted with a lady in the shop. He was smiling, giggling, pulling cute faces... I can't imagine where he got it from, but he was shameless! This lady was a complete stranger!
The weather in theory looks better tomorrow, so do I take him out or to a mums and tots. I think mums and tots.
Meanmarie, I am so glad that Ulick is coming home safe. Good luck.
Hugs and good luck to all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Hello
just popped on to say hi to everyone. SIL's wedding was lovely, but it really wore me out. That and the bump is growing lots all of a sudden so feeling absolutely shatteredBut brightened up today, house is back in order and FIL is coming tomorrow to help with some DIY jobs, which is fab. Making a big lasagne for dinner with salad and garlic bread and a cake for pudding as a thank you
My other OS achievement today was joining the library. The choice was quite good. Not much 'newer' books in the knitting side of things, but some great fiction and some pg info books which look interesting. Tonnes of cookery books too so that should help me save from splurging on those for a while!
xr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Afternoon Guys!
Thanks for all the well wishes.
Hospital went ok I suppose. More blood taken and they wonder why im aneamic (sp) all the timeI have 2 Iron Infusions next week, so that should be topped up a bit. Starting to worry about tomorrows appointment. Its at 9.15am, so we will drop DD at school then get OH to treat me to a coffee and some toast out as the cleaners will be here at 8.30 and it will mean missing traffic and keeping out their way.
I have cooked the sauce for the lasagna and may just leave that in the fridge till Saturday or freeze it and get out tomorrow evening...what do you think? Its going to be a huge one and dont really have room in the freezer to knock it up now and freeze IYSWIM. I am using jars of white sauce as its easier and was on BOGOF:o
It was a show (Grease) I missed last night, not a concert. OH said it wasnt that good, but I think he was fibbing as DD said it was great and she saw Ray off one of the singing shows (Pop Idol?)....nevermind...maybe next time.
OH cleared out the laundry room today, so it looks much neater. I've wiped out the fridge as something had been spilt. WM has been on with towels and a dressing gown and is now in the TD....not doing too well on the OS'ing today am I. All fresh bedding is out and ready for tomorrow.
Had our renewal from AA for House Insurance for £120 which I didnt think was bad for £40,000, accidental and legal cover. I rang them and asked if thats the best they could do and just because I asked, they gave me a further 10%. I pay in full each year as they dont do interest free, but I thought it was a great deal.
OH popped to the PO and sent off 3 urgent letters and a large parcel that was sold on Ebay and we had another to be sent but I had to do that via Parcels2go as it was cheaper and could send up to 25kg for £9 for 48hr delivery.
Friends rang earlier and asked if we wanted to go round for a coffee and cake tomorrow after getting DD from school. We'll probably end up staying for dinner as its going to be quite late anyway. May just share some Fish & Chips.
Anyway, I am rambling again...sorry.
Take Care
MATH-You better pop in for your birthday....or there will be trouble!!! Thanks for the PM...hope you got the reply;)

Afternoon all.
Happy Birthday Math.
Happy anniversary Charlies_Mum.
((((Hugs)))) to everyone who's poorly or worried; I've read through the thread, but not taking a lot in today, as my head's a bit muzzy.
I had a weird dizzy spell yesterday evening, so taking it very steady today; I don't want to go into a full-blown flare. Might try and do a bit of the cross-stitch I've got on the go - I'm doing decorative light switch surrounds. Two are done and in place, (both in the hall) living room one is started, have the ones for the bedroom and the [strike]junk[/strike] spare room still to do.
Mr LW has phoned to tell me he's been asked to work late tonight. Luckily we'd already agreed on pasta and cheese sauce for dins, which we can wallop together in 20 mins flat, and I can do it on autopilot, so I won't need to think too much. Mr LW's part is to chop the tomatoes and onions that also go in, as I'll have my fingers off if I do it.
Sun is shining, and the resident squirrels are busy digging holes in the back lawn.
Have a good one, folks.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Afternoon all,
Happy Anniversaries to Charlie'sMum & Dad!
And birthday greetings also to Math - if he's lurking??
TiredMum, hope the interview went ok.
Thanks sistercas for the hug- I do feel a bit better now, although I'd had some news of my university placement as well this morning which was absolutely not an area I'd want to work in, added to which a lot of the clients live in the vicinity & that would have made me very uncomfortable, so I got even more miserable. Then I went out for a walk with my mate who treated me to lunch at pizza hut too, then Uni phoned back & I had a chat with the lovely man organising it who said he understood, and has therefore crossed that one off & is reorganising another.
Hilstep, I'll take the £68000 profit if your OH doesn't know what to do with it....Hope you feel better soon too.
Sunnyday, I agree, those radios sound really good.
MeanMarie, I hope Ulick is home today as well.
PenPin, the sauce should be ok in the fridge - it should 'richen' in flavour I would have thought?
Dorry, enjoy your days off!
RMac, glad all is going well with the bump!!
Lamewolf, don't go overdoing it, look after yourself.
Am sure there is more, but my head is a bit woolly, I could do with a little nap right this minute. In fact, think I will get a cuppa & curl up on the sofa for a bit.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -

Morning all!I've just tidied mine up by pushing it into little piles and dumping the lot on the dining room tableI put all mine into 'neat' piles too so it looks like I have tidied up!
Another amazing OS idea! :rotfl: My OH hates the little squares cos they seem to deliberately avoid the hoover and hang around for days!

Penpin - Glad you feel better today.
Mioliere - the recipe for the bacon and egg pie as told to me over the phone by my MIL -
one packet of value bacon bits, 2 eggs, 6oz flour, 3 oz marg and some water. Make the pastry with the flour, marg and water, roll out and line dish... put as much bacon in as your dish will take.
Mix a couple of eggs with some black pepper and pour in. Add the rest of the pastry lid and cook at about 180 for about half an hour. She said she judged it cooked when the pastry was done. She makes two pies from this but she was very vague about amounts actuallybut it might just be worth trying it. Her pastry is very crumbly and delicious and the pie is mostly just lumps of bacon with a tiny bit of egg. She said she used to use 3 eggs for the filling but is down to 2 now..
I feel really tired today and it's Thursday so it means being woken up early again possibly when my OH gets home from DJing in the wee small hours. Will have to try and put myself to bed nice and early.to anyone who needs one today and congratulations to anyone who is celebrating:beer:
