Enjoyed going to see DD yesterday but worried sick as the "student house" is very, very damp and she has a leak in her bedroom and the bathroom ceiling could collapse at any minute.

Sounds like landlord is either a slimeball or completely clueless!

Bought her a posh hot water bottle with cover and she used it last night and managed to get some sleep. Phoned her this morning as I was worried!!!!

Just had a phone call and my new glasses are ready so will need to go to York to pick them up later.

Made a late breakfast in the Remoska and e mailed Lakeland to say how pleased I was with it!!!!

Looking forward to DD coming home at the weekend so I can spoil her a bit!!!

Mutters to self "Must not be overprotective mother!"

Must give flatemate's Dad (who is a lawyer) a chance to see what he can do before I start thinking about called Environmental Health etc.

I so want to handbag the landlord!!!!

    Happy Birthday, Math!

RedRuby - whenever I attend a course I get a fit of the giggles - it's that being back at school feeling, isn't it?

PenPin - so sorry you missed the concert but dellighted that you are feeling better today; long may it continue!

Donny-Gal - glad you are connected. (((Hugs))) to your Dad.

Hester - strange letter to receive, isn't it? I hope you get to the bottom of it.

Meanmarie - I hope Ulrick is back at home now being spoiled!

Troo - I would definitely email the card company. I always thank companies for good service and one of them even asked if they could put my 'testimonial' on their website. I find that most of them are delighted to get positive feedback. I tried one of the recipes on the Remoska website and it didn't turn out very well so I emailed to say that I was thrilled with the Remoska and all the other recipes that I had tried, but was wondering if I had done something wrong with this particular recipe. They emailed back immediately and said they would test it, which they did, and then reported back to me to say that they had withdrawn the recipe because it was, indeed, horrible! They thanked me for telling them and sent me their latest recipe book!

Anyway, I am in danger of mioliering. I have cleaned upstairs and changed the sheets which are drying on the line in lovely sunshine. I'm just about to finish off the dough that's been in the BM and I have rice doing in the Remoska for tonight's curry. I'm going to fry it later with an egg to see if I have found an easy way to do egg-fried rice! I have also done office paperwork so I intend taking the afternoon off and putting my feet up with some knitting!

    See you all later.

Oh, and welcome back to Patentgirl, and welcome to the newbies!

  • Hugs and congratulations and good wishes to all. I am too asleep to know who to say what to.

It sounded last night as if the lovely neighbours at the back of us (adjoining back walls) were demolishing an internal wall. Until around midnight. Fortunately little bear and dear heart were protected a little because it was only me that was in the room adjacent to the demolition work. Instead little bear woke up at 1.30 and 3.30am. I am very tired.

When I did sleep all I was dreaming about (apart from part of our house collapsing in front of the presenters of Changing Rooms) was knitting a scarf. So this morning, apart from odd bits, that is all that I have done. I have, of course, had a good play with little bear who has been trying to tickle me. I always squeal and chase him to tickle him.

Next week I am going with little bear to meet a friend in a shopping centre that is awkward to get to on the bus. I am a little apprehensive, but I have done so well. I have to say that the expedition planned for today is unlikely to materialise.

So much to do, so little inclination to do it!

Evil cat is sitting next to me and purring malevolently. When I was collecting things to take downstairs I pulled back the duvet to air my bed, to the consternation of evil cat who had been enjoying her warm snooze under the duvet. She swore so much at me I am surprised the air didn't turn blue!

I have no idea what to do for tea. Last night was a complete disaster and I have no idea when dear heart will get home. He said something to me about an urgent MOT. I think he was under the impression that I was awake merely because I was giving little bear a bottle.

I don't seem to be very resolute today. No matter, I shall merely concentrate on being awake.

I just had to pop back, I received a letter yesterday that I have only just opened, it's from our local hospital aasking me to fill in a questionnaire about surgery I had last year.
I didn't have surgery last year, in fact the only time I have ever been to the hospital as a patient was 23 years ago to give birth to my youngest son, at that time I was using my married name & lived 25 miles away from where I do now. Where on earth have they got my name & address from. I shouldn't be on their records anywhere & I have never had any health problems related to reflux, which is what is mentioned in the letter. I'm flummoxed.

    Good Morning Hester..
When I went for my appointment the other week the consultant asked me when I had had surgery as I was down for a week in May I had to ask him if he had the right records,,he is going to look into it
and get all my records from all the hospitals I have been to
    Strange isnt it

    Morning All!
Feeling wooly today. Got a rotten cold, and it's made my legs wobbly!:o
Still done some washing, and DW is on. Been to the butcher for some neck of lamb, and now have a lamb stew bubbling away on the stove:T

DS is at college. OH rang at 7.30 to tell me he's just managed to shave £68000 off his profit, so reducing his tax bill by £30000! Thank goodness, didn't know how he was going to pay it otherwise!

    :bdaycake: Happy Birthday Math!

:bdaycake: Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Charliesmum!

Hope you all have a good day.:T
