Os Daily Thurs 2nd Oct 2008

:) Hi, this is the OS Daily thread for the 30th September. It is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

good morning
I though someone would have been up , but there's only me and i am going to lincoln in half an hour to take SS to work

..see you later

Morning Kaat & all who cross/follow
Off to work soon, with my crochet & some HM soup, no idea what flavour soup it is, I never label stuff, I like the element of surprise.
    Have a good day.
    Hugs Hester

Morning KAAT, you beat me to it :D hope you are feeling better today.

Yesterday, I alternated between work and hospital visiting. FIL is still very poorly and they are wating for test results on the fluid that is on his lung :( He is already a very sick man and we all wonder if this will prove to be one infection too many.

Now I've injected a gloomy note to the thread, I'll carry on.

Marie, great news about Ulick coming home, although you must be torn in wanting him to stay in a bit longer so you can get things finished in the kitchen. Did you manage to read Pen-Pin's info on the banned foods and how they can re-act against the warfarin...I would never have given it any thought. Hugs to you both.
Candy, sorry there's no work about yet, is it today the carpet is going down. How is your mum coping, it is very hard seeing them struggle. Hugs to you all.
Haribo, good to see you, enjoy your weekend away. I'm still sniggering about your comment on the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse :rotfl:

Well, I've planned to play golf today, just hope the weather stays fine. Tea will be the bacon etc that was planned for last night, we finished off the chicken curry. I had been organised and put it in the freezer, but it re-heated beautifully from frozen in the Remoska. :D

    Love and hugs to all.

Good morning, Kaat, and all who follow.

I've just been wandering around some of the other threads looking for recipes and ideas for Christmas. MSE is wonderful, isn't it? So much advice and loads of tips for saving money - how did we ever manage without it in the 'old' days?

I have also download AVGfree - I realised that, since the computer crashed a couple of weeks ago, I didn't have any security. I've used AVG before and the free version really slowed the PC down when it was doing it's job but I have set the new one to check everything at 2am every day so it shouldn't hold me up!

Well, I didn't get back on here yesterday afternoon because I was baking in the morning and collecting DGS from school in the afternoon and playing games with him.

(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, Candygirl's Dad, Essex-girl's Dad, Beth and her family, Pippa's DH and Mum and Meanmarie and Ulrick.

Smoky - you said last night that you had had an 'unconstructive' day but it sounds as if you got loads done!

Meanmarie - I hope Ulrick is back at home today.

    Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:

Well, today I am changing sheets and cleaning upstairs; DH has been home on and off this week so I haven't got a great deal done but he did hoover downstairs for me yesterday. He's got half a day's work today and then hopefully his next job starts tomorrow. I'm just thinking of what else he can do when he's back home this afternoon! There's a few things I want sorting out in my office.

I can't see what the weather is doing at the moment but the sky looks clear and it's windy so I hope it's good drying weather for the sheets and towels.

Anyway, will love you and leave you.

    See you later.

    Good Morning All

Cold is a little better today thankfully. Will be in the office this morning and probably ironing this afternoon.

Need to pop to Tesco at some point and will also pick something from there for dinner, my head has been full of fluff this week and just couldnt seem to meal plan.

Want to get quite up straight for the weekend as really want to start sorting some stuff to put on ebay. I dont do it often enough to make it easy iykwim but needs must, plus it declutters the house as well.

Going have a surf around while I finish my tea and before DD gets up.

    Have a great day.

Morning.... (Just a note to say when you copy and paste the sticky you may have to change the date)

Wet and windy here, lots of heavy showers and it s cold too.

Day off so not sure what to do. The garden centre has a pre christmas free evening tonight, so might go along for free drinks and samples.

It could be e-bay day as well, as I need to shift this pile in the office.

    We will see.

    Cheers have a nice day

    Morning all,

Looks like its going to be a nice day here bright and sunny, shame I am off to w**k  , its the second day of my course today, should be 10 in total, but if today is as bad as last week I shall not be going back, he was the sort of 'tutor' who told you what to do, and not explain why, he also whispered the whole time, and we could not hear him  , unfortunatly I got the giggles and spent 5 mins with my jumper shoved in my mouth and avoiding eye contact :D At work for the rest of the afternoon, where I need to try and finish my month end, although it will probably go on until tomorrow.

Something and chips for tea, and sainsbugs are delivering tonight, which is my evening sorted, will watch a bit of tv, and then an early night, I cant seem to stay awake much beyond 10 at the moment, and I shouted at OH last night when he came to bed, for blowing his nose too loudly :o

DD is doing gym after school so dont have to pick her up till later.

Whatatwit, your poor FIL, hope there is some improvement today xx

Marie, I hope Ulick comes home today xx

Pen pin, hope you feel better soon xx

    Have good days all xx

I just had to pop back, I received a letter yesterday that I have only just opened, it's from our local hospital aasking me to fill in a questionnaire about surgery I had last year.
I didn't have surgery last year, in fact the only time I have ever been to the hospital as a patient was 23 years ago to give birth to my youngest son, at that time I was using my married name & lived 25 miles away from where I do now. Where on earth have they got my name & address from. I shouldn't be on their records anywhere & I have never had any health problems related to reflux, which is what is mentioned in the letter. I'm flummoxed.

Morning all, Up at 5.20 and have BM on, emptyed DW and dug out of the freezer some spicey red lentil and Tom soup for lunch. CANDY, I can't find red lentils either, normally get them at Morries but they don't have any. Lunch sorted. Doing a chick casserole with the 50p veg I got at Morries y/day for dinner. Allready have an apple crumble cooked for pud.

My DMum and her OH are arriving today and staying untill Sun. So looking forward to seeing her. Hoping for dry days so we can take her out and about. If it gets cold I'll light the inglenook for DMum, we still haven't put CH on yet but don't want her feeling chilly. It was great weather here y/day, had to have the kitchen door opened whilst ironing, managed to get 3 lines dryed and ironed.

Off to catch up. Have a good day all.
