Afternoon peeps
Only just realised that it`s afternoon already
i`ve just skimmed through the thread.
Happy Birthday to Math & Mr & Mrs Charlies_Mum :bdaycake:
I`ve got to leave the house for w*rk in an hour and i`m nowhere near ready
I`ve made lots of sandwiches for the next couple of days for DH & i, yummy french bread with tuna & onion mayo and from the garden i`ve used mixed salad leaves radishes and tomatoes - YUM!!
The usual morning jobs have all been done and i`ve just opened the door to the postman, i`m very impressed as i only ordered the items yesterday afternoon and they have arrived already.
I ordered 2 freeplay eco radios and i`m very impressed with them. One is for my dad for his birthday.
They charge via usb, solar panel or wind up and the sound is great for something so tiny. I think i`ll take mine to w*rk and have a play with it later if it`s quiet. Lovely to know i can listen to the radio without using any electricity
Better run and get ready.
Have a lovely day peeps, ((((HUGS)))) for your FIL Whatatwit

Afternoon all
Hugs to all in need and congratulations to those who are celebrating.
I for one am certainly not celebrating. Kitchen cost has gone up, bathroom is more than expected, plus labour and tiles for the bathroom. Then there's the rest of the window expense. I'm looking at nearly a year's salary - and a large chunck is wanted straight away to pay for the cabinets etc. Don't know how I'm going to do this. So worried about being able to pay the mortgage with all of this going out in one hit. It's going to wipe me out.
Been looking up green tomato chutney recipes for Mum. Other than that it's back to the job hunting for me. Situation is now desperate.
Does anyone know how to get my flavoured vodka to clear? I've strained through muslin but it's still got a sediment on the bottom
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

Morning all!I've just tidied mine up by pushing it into little piles and dumping the lot on the dining room table
I put all mine into 'neat' piles too so it looks like I have tidied up!
Another amazing OS idea! :rotfl: My OH hates the little squares cos they seem to deliberately avoid the hoover and hang around for days!troo: wrote:
That happens here too, maybe we should collect them all up and sell them as confetti. Very boring confetti, but confetti
Happy Birthday Math

with the job interview hon
Penpin - Glad you feel better today.
Mioliere - the recipe for the bacon and egg pie as told to me over the phone by my MIL -
one packet of value bacon bits, 2 eggs, 6oz flour, 3 oz marg and some water. Make the pastry with the flour, marg and water, roll out and line dish... put as much bacon in as your dish will take.
Mix a couple of eggs with some black pepper and pour in. Add the rest of the pastry lid and cook at about 180 for about half an hour. She said she judged it cooked when the pastry was done. She makes two pies from this but she was very vague about amounts actually
but it might just be worth trying it. Her pastry is very crumbly and delicious and the pie is mostly just lumps of bacon with a tiny bit of egg. She said she used to use 3 eggs for the filling but is down to 2 now..
I feel really tired today and it's Thursday so it means being woken up early again possibly when my OH gets home from DJing in the wee small hours. Will have to try and put myself to bed nice and early.
to anyone who needs one today and congratulations to anyone who is celebrating:beer:

Afternoon all,
Happy birthday Math...but where are you?
Happy anniversary Mr & Mrs Charlie's Mum
PenPin, glad that you are feeling better to-day...thanks for info on why the vegs he likes are the ones he has to eat in moderation...they haven't said if he will be on Warfarin for life but at almost 68 I think that it is likely...clot from heart caused stroke so they will be anxious to prevent a repeat.
I smiled when people said to cosset Ulick when he comes home...rather like trying to cosset a hungry tiger, it will be tense here in case I ask twice in a day how he feels and if he is warm enough...still it will be nice to have him here to blame when things go wrong! Haven't heard from hospital to-day if he is being discharged or not, will go in around 2 and turn on the heat before I go, can't take a chance on him getting a cold now
Made soup this morning so am going to have some now and hope that the hospital visit will be just to collect Ulick...need a few things in Lidl so will go before the hospital, don't want to take him out in what is a very cold windy day here.
Back later if I get a chance

HUGS to those who want need them and Congratulations to those celebrating
I woke up at 5  had a cup of tea and a slice of pineapple cake
and went back to sleep until alarm went off at 7am. I got kids up and washed, fed and dressed and same with myself, made the bed, opened the windows, did packed lunches and got everything in car only to realise that it was in fact 7.24 and I had dozed back off and dreamt it all and done nothing   It was so vivid and real and I really thought I'd done everything!!
Anyway, finally made it in after really doing everything and am having busy old day at work.
Am just eating my sweet potato broth and going to have pie and chips for dinner. I did sin and buy a brie and cranberry bap and a pack of crisps for a grand total of £2.25  from the canteen this morning.
