Was reading this thread and was surprised that no one has mentioned looking for work in a hotel. Most large hotels run large party nights at christmas and need staff to cover these - mainly evening and weekend work. Not all use agency staff so its definetly worth asking. You can do waitering or bar work usually and dont usually need experience.

Doing party plan is fantastic at the moment as people often want a hastle way to shop and are entertaining at home , Hostess's/hosts get a lot of free products so they can use these as christmas presents .
