What can I do with sausage meat?

Sausage pie.
Put a thin layer of sausage meat in the bottom of an ovenproof dish. Add a layer of tinned chopped tomatoes, a good covering of dried basil, then a layer of mashed potato. Keep layering until the mashed potato is the top layer, and bake in the oven at approx GM6 until the top is golden brown.
It's a really simple and easy dish, but perfect comfort food. Have it with baked beans for ease, but you could always serve it with some veg.
I make mine with veggie lincolshire style sausages mashed up now as I'm vegetarian, but it is traditionally made with real sausage meat.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Sausage Macaroni.
Fry off an onion and place to one side. Place sausage meat in the frying pan and use a fork to mash it up as it cooks. Once golden brown and crispy, drain excess fat off and add the onions back in and a 400g tin of Tomato soup and heat through by simmering. Cook half a bag of macaroni (tesco 34p one is best) and once cooked add sausage and soup sauce. Salt and pepper to taste. Also crusty bread
edit: You can also use plain sausages for this too. 8 would be enough for the above quantity. Cut them up into 1/2 to 1 inch pieces. Not in debt at the moment, but been there in the past and realise I'm the kind of person who could easily fall back into it with the self destructing spending button so making sure I keep on top of being a good girl.

I have two packs of "sausage meat" from Tesco, don't know the weight atm, but they are each about the size of a brick
I have used a half of one of these packs before to mix with stuffing for chicken, but was wondering if anyone has any other ideas . . . it is very fatty.0 -
Can you add it to beef mince to make meatloaf? Failing that, er, sausage rolls?Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000

You could make really yummy stuffing out of it on its own- just season and mix into each "brick" a chopped onion, then press into a tin and cover with crushed cornflakes (my mum always did this and i am not sure why but it gives it a really lovely taste and texture!). Bake for about 20 minutes and enjoy. We always have this as part of our Christmas dinner and it is also really great cold on sandwiches.Sorry if this sounds weird.0

Hi kadeeae,
There's an older thread with lots of ideas for sausage meat that should help so I've added your thread to that to keep all the suggestions together. I made sausage rolls with it this week and the kids said they were the best they'd had in a long time.

If you lived on nothing but processed meat then quite likely it could contribute towards cancer & related illnesses. But we're talking about people looking for ways to use up a lb or two of sausagemeat. Hardly a great cause for concern or a reason for scaremongering." Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams..
