Cheap Parcel Delivery Thread MK3

I used to send 15-30 parcels a day with PPW but now moved to DPD.co.uk (not the same one recommended by claire12!!! by the way). It is much easier to track shipments.
I think it is much better option rather than staying with PPW, as they raised their prices lately at around 35% for my international shippments. I am only disappointed that they didn't give me any notice (spending £700 you would expect some sort of notice), apart of that I was very happy with their service even if Paul sometimes was playing funny.
But honestly I think that they eventually started to loose to much money and this is the reason of why they ceased trading. Will have to use Interparcel again for domestic shippments.0 -
Armitage,
I would suggest to remove PPW from the main post at the moment as some people may get confused.
Their website is down so people can't make orders.0 -

ps: ppw now have a strike through.
It is for zone 1 (Belgium, France, Germany, Luxemburg, Netherlands) plus you must send certain volume a month with them.0 -

Not trying to through a spanner in your works by any means but I'm fairly sure Express Packages Deliveries could beat those rates.
Blinking difficult referring to the genuine DPD, rather than that sham of an outfit.....how do you distinguish between the two!!?0 -
Hi folks
I've been trading online now since February so have had to wade through the minefield of courier brokers which I'm sure many reading this thread have also had to do. Main ones I've used so far is payperparcel and ppwexpress. I've had very few problems off either although the current situation at ppw is a bit worrying. Darren at payperparcel has always been great with customer service in my experience and is one of the main reasons I use those a lot.
I'm about to try using interparcel because I'm starting to sell some items which are over 2m in length. They offer a Titan service which seems really reasonable in price for the larger items and you can book up until 2pm apparently. I've not yet used it and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced the service?
On another note, I've followed this thread on and off for a while now to keep track of what's happening with the seemingly fragile world of the courier brokers. I think Armitage Shanks has done a really good job on a thread which must be very frustrating at times. Just to let you know that this thread does help me and I'm sure helps others too so please don't be put off by all the silliness from companies sabotaging the threads - anyone with half a brain can tell who they are. This site is to help people find good value but also honest services and I find it irritating that some companies would even try it on on a site like this - they should be ashamed of themselves.0 -
I've just used parcelcheap, and I have to say it was a very good experience. They use Parcelfore. Booked Weds for collection on Thurs and Delivery on Fri, and all went fine. They also send you an email with the tracking number straight after the paypal payment.

£7.10 for Parcelforce 48
£7.49 for Parcelforce 24
Not the best price, but if you prefer parcelforce then its good!0 -

As far as I know genuine DPD belongs to Geopost and their website address is DPD.co.uk.
So you can probably call them DPD Geopost or refer to their website.
I was trying to find out what the shortcut DPD means but couldn't find it on their website. I think it's a German shortcut.
I also think that InterlinkExpress is the same company as DPD but not 100% sure.
I would always recommend their services as they're really high standard.0 -

Thank you. Very brave taking the plunge, but you entered the foray with great post.- sensible, literate and the type that is pleasure to respond to. Of the 6 pages of mostly drivel we've had today this is a real turn up for the books!
It's good that we now have a pay per parcel user, as I can add your feedback on them to the first page. Currently as I have no experience of them it's just ???
Interparcel TITAN (TNT), in theory very handy. My only suggestion would be book early as the last two times we've used it and booked on the dot we've had failed collections. We are a little rural so that more than likely has a bearing. My other suggestion would be freightsearch who I am about to negotiate a rate on for TNT as we've just had some bigger items arrive today in fact. From what they're are intimating they will beat interparcel rates and also my contact Tim 'seems' a top man; he will or who ever their area rep is will come out and visit you if you wish.0
