thats right booking agencys book the collections, but it is up the the driver to pick the parcels up,the whole booking agency thing is about price and service,0 -

We want cheap....we get cheap while we can.
Sometimes we lose out totally when a company throws the towel in.
Let's not forget that when the going was good we all took advantage of it.
I am so fed up of spending my PRECIOUS time looking for the cheapest couriers on a daily basis (and after all time = money) so from now on, I will be quoting a Maximum P&P price in my listings on ebay and stating that this may be subject to a rebate.
Getting mightily peed off with all of this now
That's why when PPWexpress lauched, after a few weeks of great success we purchased 3000 PPP's @ £4.95 each, as they where such a great price & luckily only had 2 x PPP's left with them.zhanglipku wrote: »I am very new compared to most of you but I have been doubting the validity of our preferences....for I tend to believe the successful rate of parcel collection solely(and randomly) depends on DHL's drivers and has very little to do with agencies as long as they forward your booking to DHL.

Yes, it does depend on your local depot & how much work they have & can cope with, luckily at the Business centre we operate from we have 4 other companies that use DHL on a daily basis, so are virtually guaranteed collections & deliveries.0 -

I will agree 100% with that zhang.
The difference is the customer service that you receive from any of the 'agencies' when you are dissatisfied with the service you receive.
In my opinion, the customer service you recieve when you complain sorts the chaff from the wheat.
That alone sorts the pro's from the con's.
I would rather pay more and have a failed collection with an apology and an explanation with the collection being a day late than a 'we have rebooked collection for today' bog standard email with no apology, explanation and the collection still does not take place the next day as promised!I hope I never get so old I get religious...... what about large parcels? If I am sending something of 120cmX65cmX65cm with DHL, whose limit was 120X60X60, how likely will it be rejected by the driver??
After reading all of this posts, it seems to me the reasonable alternative before PPW gets back is www.parcelcheap.com, Parcel2go allows only a ridiculous volume of 4 cubit feet and thus out of question.
Thank you for all your informations.0 -
The way i see it is that ppwexpress has basically closed down there site and told all its customers to visit another site that looks like a sham and it does not have any contact numbers I can find.
I use parcelcheap.com for the £6.99 you pay ppw you pay a extra 10p for 48 hour or 50p for 24 hour. and that's for PARCEL FORCE
A few of you seem to be up ppwexpress !!! so much you are bigging them up when they have left there customers in deep !!!! as some of you i noticed had 2 days of failed deliverys which in my case makes them the worst of the worst, and thats after speaking to them before they shutup shop.
I guess in the end you get what you pay for. I am no way saying do not use ppwexpress but why would you after this? They didnt even stay and answer there phones just forced you to listen to the same of message again and again0 -

It's good that we now have a pay per parcel user, as I can add your feedback on them to the first page. Currently as I have no experience of them it's just ???
Interparcel TITAN (TNT), in theory very handy. My only suggestion would be book early as the last two times we've used it and booked on the dot we've had failed collections. We are a little rural so that more than likely has a bearing. My other suggestion would be freightsearch who I am about to negotiate a rate on for TNT as we've just had some bigger items arrive today in fact. From what they're are intimating they will beat interparcel rates and also my contact Tim 'seems' a top man; he will or who ever their area rep is will come out and visit you if you wish.
Reason I've used PayPerParcel a lot is that the 120 x 60 x 60 dimensions which are stipulated on most websites for the DHL services seem to be waived. The nature of my business means I have to send many items which are above these dimensions (yet below 120 on all sides). I've not yet had any problems with sending anything over 60cm on the 2 sides. Also, the guys there have always provided great customer service replying very promptly when I've had a query and sorting it out. Also, their website is professional and reliable.
The reason I've used PPW for items below the 60cm is firstly the price has been great, but their great advantage has been that you don't have to stipulate weights/dimension - they trust that you keep below these limits which saves A LOT of time! It's a shame their service seems to be going under, but maybe other companies can take heed of their speedier booking model.
Thanks for the info about Titan/Interparcel - I'll let you know how I go on when I have the need to use it.0 -

Hello
There is a bewildering array of options and I'm looking for advice and personal experience from members here.
I need a document wallet collected and delivered same day, early morning collection with a midday delivery and then an afternoon collection with next day delivery. So that is an early collect from A deliver to B midday, collect from B on afternoon deliver to A next day.
This will be a regular fortnightly service so while cost is an issue, service is paramount.
Dimensions in cm are 41x31x8 and weight will vary between 1-5 kg.
Over to you, point me in the right direction please.
TIAI have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.0
