I've had my Capital One card for 18 months. Initially £1000, increased to £1600 after a few months. I received a letter today increasing limit to £1900 as of 30th June.
I've never received a months notice on a credit increase before! Strange people.0 -
Mine (Capital One Progress Card) started off at £300 and then it was increased to £800 on the 4th statement. I also pay mine off in full each month by DD.
My interest rate also reduced as promised. So far so good.2013 TARGET £30k

Sorry for raking up old threads
OK here i smy problem, I have not applied to cap1 as my credit is terrible with a capital T!
My partner did about 10 days ago and got the message online saying they needed to look at it and would be in touch, last week she got a letter saying good new you have been successful please sign enclosed credit agreement and send back and your new card will be with you within 10 days.
She has done this so just waiting for it to arrive now heres my questions:
1/ Will she have any issue in say 2 months adding me to the account just as an additional card holder considering my credit report is really really bad?
2/ I want to hire a car in September for a long weekend trip to silverstoneAnyhow with Enterprise who I want to use you have to have a credit card in your name which hopefully I will be OK with the additinal card holder thing, they need to take a £150 deposit off the credit card, if worst come to the worst and she only gets the low £100 limit would we be able to bring the account into say £60 credit so the £150 would come off wth no problems?
Thanks guys I was surprised she was accepted as my credit record over the last 3 years is diabolice many many ccj's and defaults etc but we must not be too financially linked no joint accounts etc.
As usual any help appreciated"You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -

It is against the terms and conditions to purposefully put the account into credit.
What Capital One will do about it is another matter, but I do know that Vanquis would block the account.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I asked similar question on on-line messages to Capital One.
Was told they don't recomend this, first the add. money is not insured if card is stolen or if there is any fraudulent acitivity, secondly they told me that the card may be blocked during payments over the CC limit and the transaction may need manual authorisation.0 -
Thanks for the replies guys
uhhhhh nightmare my OH would not be pleased if I managed to get her card blocked, mmmm just have to hopw she gets more than the £100 limit I suppose as enterprise wont accept any prepaid cards of any description and only major debit cards not electron or anything like that
Anyone got any advice re being added as an additional card holder?"You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -

They will probably ask you for proof of identity and address.
When you send them the necessary papers tehy will most probably add you and send you the second card.0 -
so am I right in thinking that they wont even run a credit check on me as the additional card holder?

I don't think that they will cancel her CC even if they don't approve you.
And I don't think that being an additional card holder solves your problem with renting the car.0 -
had capital one credit card for almost two years now, always made regular payments and never late. started off on £100 limit (pointless) and amazingly...... it hasnt moved, still at £100. think a letter to them from me may be appearing on their doorstep soon to close the account0
