  • I have just received the pin for my C1 card - 1st credit card for a VERY long time. Limit is only £100, which is kind of disappointing, but understandable. I am just delighted I have a tool to rebuild my credit, and we will see what happens after four months!

Sorry, it's you, who wants an increase, you are asking for their money.
They can decide, whether or not they want to give you any more.

Get a card elsewhere, they might (or might not) give you a higher limit.

Just to let you guys know, i received my Cap1 card. :j Rather disappointingly, it's the standard design and not the cute image of a pig i requested. lol Guess, it's not that important.

On the plus side, the Cap1 web-site is nicely designed and is very easy to navigate around. NO excuse for not keeping on top of my credit spending.

Waiting for my Vanquis card to drop through the letter box now.:p

With judicious use over the next 12-18 months, i hope to have gone some way to repair my damaged credit rating.

Can't thank you guys enough for all your helpful advice on this site.

The drinks are on me.
  • 1......after how long 3 Months
    2......by how much £200
    3......how many increases None since

I took out my card in June 08, I have never had a late payment and always pay the balance in full often well before the due date. Card limit when I took it out was £100...rubbish!

I have now got a joint cashback credit card with OH so I plan on closing the Capital One card at the end of this month. It has a limit of £300 on it. I have never defaulted on anything and have pristine credit report so was surprised when offered a low limit.

This will be my only credit card I have.

    starting limit was £200.
Current limit after 13 months of payment monthly by dd in full is ....... £200.

I will probably close it as i don't think it will ever be reviewed and tbh hasn't had much if any effect on my credit rating.

Hi all, I spoke to someone at Cap 1 the other day as I started on 200 and raised to 600 after 4 months but then since 4 years later nothing. Anyway I found out that the inital credit check 5 years ago is the one they keep on record, so in my case was very bad back then. If your credit has improved a lot since then I was told to close and reapply.

But I think this is the problem in a lot of the cases listed, that are still be judged on your original application.

Started at £200 in sept 2007, increased to £500 thereafter, nothing ever since!
I did decrease it to £350 last month though!
