    2 sleeps to go:j :j :j :j :j :j

Got the dog bed for her today and also got some tinned food today!!!

She is being spayed (sp?) tomorrow. Someone told me today that after they have been spayed you shouldn't take them for a walk for 2 weeks  Poor Sally if I can't take her for a walk.

Does anyone know if this is true or not??

Yes, when Lucy was done a few months ago - for the first week or two she was only allowed in the garden for a pee and on a lead and no jumping up.

I was surprised they let them home so soon after being spayed. How do you get a springer not to jump up!:D

They will put one of those lampshade things on...that will rain on her parade for a while:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: and actually she might be a bit quiet anyway with being a new environment so it may have just been the bestest time to get her speyed. Just pees and stuff in the garden for a while...it's really just for the stitches...I would imagine if you can manage a good few days it should help. At the end of the day you can't keep any dog down eh?!! Just keep an eye on her stitches and if you see any weeping or holes then give the vet a wee tinkle...might just get you in to have a wee look at her:D

OMG:eek: I am glad you told me she would have one of those lampshade things on. I would have been shocked to see her with one of those on otherwise!
    Thanks:A

I love coming onto this thread to see the photos and your Springer is gorgeous. Looks like a "proper" Springer - completely loopy:D Love the tufts of hair. Hubby and I go to a certain park in Glasgow as a lot of Springers are walked there - we are guaranteed to be doggied by a Springer. Lovely, mad dogs. I am so jealous!

You go to a park in Glasgow for dogging?!!!!!!!!!!!

Tee hee.....I'm joking, I'm joking!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Best of lucky with the spaying. Lol.

Advice from vet after having dog spayed:

    1. Let the dog rest
    2. Keep the dog calm for a few weeks
    3. No stressfull exercise for a few weeks
    4. No jumping around for a few weeks.

Well if you can stop a springer doing that then your better than me! Lol

Heres some pics of my springers:

This is Ozzy with seriously trimmed head hair, it used to cover his eyes! So cute, but un practicle. Lol. Here he is sleeping with the cat.

And this is Megan with the cat. Ozzy and Megan are from the same litter and the bond is amazing.

Tip though, dont ever have 2 springer puppies. Oh god its nuts!!

Well they might leave her shade on... Kira had hers off after half a day as she has NO spacial awareness! After 2 1/2 years she STILL bangs her nose on the radiator in the hall when she turns too quick! daft animal lol
It's just a matter of not stretching the skin and stiches really so no letting her jump up on sofa's or in and out of cars either please :)
It's soon over though and then the fun begins!
When we got Kira she was in season but she was so kennel stressed the RSPCA let us take her home so long as we got her spayed when her season had finished... in hindsight I should have known that would be a bad idea with cream carpets really shouldn't I? :rotfl: We now have laminate and it's soooo easy to clean :)

Your springer is absolutely adorable and the first one that I have seen with the tuft in the centre of the head like Sally has:rotfl:

In a way MrsTine I hope she does have her lampshade off. I think it will scare my DS when he sees her.

I had dog dreams again last night:o :rotfl: so I am off to bed again now and no doubt I will have more again!!

More Springer pics needed :j :j

Well in addition to socks and hair bands... some have found t-shirts help keep the dogs from licking their stitches... didn't work for us, but others swear by it :) Kira had a couple of licks from time to time - obviously when it itched, and then she was quite content to leave it alone. If your little lady starts disturbing the stiches then obviously you need to somehome prevent her from getting to them... :)
