  • my mums doggo has been speyed today and is home and looking very sorry for herself, laying in her bed, wearing a lampshade and grumbling quietly to herself every now and again - they soon get past that stage though.

I got Badger the day after she was speyed and she was fine, just had to keep her quiet and calm, although I think I was allowed to take her on short on-lead walks after the first few days.

  • How exciting - I am so glad you have chosen a rescue dog - I really do feel it is the only truly ethical way of getting a dog, as well as being the most sensible choice for many people.

I always think when you take a rescue dog on, you not only give that dog a lovely home and life, but you free up a space in rescue for another dog who may otherwise be put to sleep at the end of the initial seven days in the pound, so in a way you help two dogs.

Just as importantly you have not encouraged the birth of yet another litter - where some may well end up in rescue themselves.

Bet you don't sleep much and if you do you'll dream of 4 legged friends with waggy tails.

One more thing you should perhaps get is a good mop, Springers are great at making muddy pawprints :rotfl:

Just go to the pound shop and get the cheap as chips nappy bags...don't you be getting seduced by 'pet bags' that have a cute puppy on the front and cost 4 times the amount but as basically the same - we all know what you are like!!!!!!!!:p :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Aww...this has been great sharing your excitement this week. Bless:D
