CONGRATULATIONS :j
Welcome to life with a Springer, I'm sure you'll have lots of fun0 -
SHE'S HERE!!!:j :j :j
Just got her sorted and home and given her a bit of a brush and we are off for a walk to pick DS up from school. It is a surprise for him as I wouldn't tell him when we got her.
Will take photos and post later:j
YAAAAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
Hope she's settled in okay to family life :A0 -
Oh Im so happy for you all - springers are wonderful pets and although they do need exercising they need mental exercise the most and they are such cuddle monsters - get the throws out for the furniture
Good luck xxxxxxxxxx0 -
*chants* we want pictures, we want pictures!
Has she settled ok? how did you son react, was he over the moon?"Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone, and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering"0 -
Well a bit more of an update for you all.
She is adorable and I am so lucky. I went for a walk with her by the river (Yes I know BIG mistake:D however she did just stop as I shouted Sally NO!!!! as she was about to jump in the river!)
then went for more of a walk, then collected DS from school who was absolutely made up:j I had taken her "now" favourite ball and we played very short ball and fetch which she loved. Then we got back and we did nothing for a bit for she could settle and sniff about which she did and a few cuddles.
She even ate some tea I put down which the rescue place said she would probably be off her food because when she first went to them she went off her food for a bit.
She was great with DS and they are now FIRM friends.
She REALLY tugs on the lead but I am sure we can ready that but she actually does sit at the edge of the road when asked and she sits when you go to take off or put on her lead! I was amazed at that one.
The only slightly negative thing in all that is when a friend came to the door she barked ran out and did a little wee and when he went she did a wee inside again.
She also did it when the cousins came so I think it is just nervousness at meeting someone she doesn't know:cool:
I have really praised all the wee's and poo's when they are outside. I put her outside for 2 minutes and she sat looking into the door with those big spaniel eyes;)
She is currently sat at my feet fast asleep, she was fine when I went in the bath and just settled outside the door, even thouh I had left it open
For the first night I think she is doing fantastically well.:j
Mind you I expect when I put her in her lovely new cosy bed and close the door tonight that we may have a few cries and moans to come in, so any suggestions on how to deal with that one???:rotfl:

I apologise that the picture quality is so poor. I really AM better at taking photos:o but I was trying to take them without freaking her out whilst she was settling in!!
