Well done on getting insurance cancelled :T , amazing how bogged down we can get in things!
I've bough lunch & breakfast today so I'm doing my bit for the economy
. Oh, and fish & chips last night

What's the capital of Iceland?
About £3.27 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

You're a brave man making comments about the "better half" of the species and shopping
And girls...you are absolutely right - out shopping we all must go!!!
Ooops! I'm not supposed to be encouraging that am I?!?;)MBNA - [STRIKE]£7068.60 [/STRIKE] £7060.00 Egg - 1422.35 A&L - [STRIKE]£249.32[/STRIKE] £215.00Loan - £13279.50 :rolleyes:0 -
Ooh! The meal planning is really starting tonight when I go hopping. It was meant to start early, but I managed to finish off what was left inmy cupboards. I'm looking forward to being organised.

You girls and your bargain hunting... those shoe racks do have a left hand shoe to make a pair you know, but no doubt it "was too good a bargain to miss"?
I digress; I'm sure your spreadsheet includes an allowance for clothing and shoes? The only problem I have is that the "averaging" period or life cycle is very drawn out, wish I had been monitoring it accurately from early 2007 when we had "reduced" spend on clothing - maybe it wouldn't be showing the £232 per month it indicates presently
Also daughter will keep growing! 5cm in two months is just excessive in my book for an 10-11 year old and she seems keen to look mum square in the eye just as soon as she can! :rotfl:0 -
:T Congrats on getting the insurance cancelled :T
How is the meal plan going? I've got to do mine before Thursday - Fridge is very empty now, thank god for a full freezer!
I totally agree
I shall immediantly go out at lunch and buy something straight away!
Sadly, us MSEers probably don't have what it takes in the shopping department to keep our economy up and running:o Maybe we are doing our bit by recapitalising the banks with our OPs:D:rotfl:0 -

So I managed to get myself some new work shoes, not very attractive but they're comfy.
I really need some boots. I found some that were £65. They're leather in and out but I have never spent that amount of money on a pair of shoes.
I do like the camper ones but as they are £150 per pair it's not going to happen!
Glad you cancelled your insurance. How about setting the monthly insurance cost up as a SO to go instantly to your mortgage account? You're used to paying it anyway so won't miss the money. This was the first thing I did when I started my mortgage OP's. The chap who set up my mortgage told me we were over insured and said I should cut some of it to save money. I did (after about 8 months!). Then I rejigged everything I had to pay out and that gave me my mortgage free date.
I have found that the snowball calculator isn't entirely accurate so this year when my mortgage statement arrived I owed £280 (?) less than I thought I did! When I get any quidco payments I transfer them over and when I get my years cashback from my CC I transfer that over too. So far in 18 months of the MFi3 I've managed to knock 2 months off my snowball.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
Ha! Ha! Don't worry, if you're lucky, she may stop growing soon...I think I pretty much stopped by the time I was 13 - I'm one of those short folks!:DAlso daughter will keep growing! 5cm in two months is just excessive in my book for an 10-11 year old and she seems keen to look mum square in the eye just as soon as she can! :rotfl:
Kaz...ssssh! Don't tell anyone - but I would get the boots (£65 pair!!!). If they are well made, they will last years.
Also - good idea about the SO from insurance money, I can't believe I read these forums, and I didn't even think of it! Thanks!:T
I'm on hols from work next week so have plans of DIY and 'life sorting'! Fingers crossed I don't sit infront of the TV all day!:rolleyes:MBNA - [STRIKE]£7068.60 [/STRIKE] £7060.00 Egg - 1422.35 A&L - [STRIKE]£249.32[/STRIKE] £215.00Loan - £13279.50 :rolleyes:0
