Paperticket..Good or Bad ???

I'm another vicitm of paperticket, was delighted to find sold out kings of leon tickets for £35 so went a bit mad spending £250! .. realised it might be too good a deal after a phone call from them saying the transaction was blocked by the bank. So naturally, I gave out other details and it was processed. Emailed after their confirmation to ask when they will arrive roughly and heard nothing back.
Now I'm absolutely gutted and furious, as I most likely won't see my fav band
but WILL get my money by the looks of it.0 -
it just goes to show you that you shouldn't trust the recommended links on Google.
The recommended links on Google are there because the companies paid to appear in that section. Although Google (and other search engines) block sites using blatant spamming techniques, they don't research into the legitimacy of sites before adding them to their recommended section. A recommendation from Google is just proof that the company are willing to pay enough money to appear there.
I only ever use seetickets, ticketmaster or lastminute. Seatwave is the best of a bad bunch and works on the policy of 'if we have the tickets, you will get the tickets' - if they don't have the tickets, you don't get the tickets.0 -
This is exactly the reason I think tickets should only be sold by concert organisers, and limited to the amount of tickets sold to any one person. It rids the World of touts, and fake ticket sites, I think its appalling in this day and age, that there is still no control over the way tickets are bought and sold, paperticket is just one in an ever growing list.
Theres nothing to stop paperticket simple renaming itself, and raking yet more money in, safe in the knowledge the most that is likely to happen....is getting shut down again.
Seriously Superskint a sympathise with all of you as victims of this scam, so I appreciate tensions can be high in these times and the worse is, as you know, its GOING to carry on.
The only lesson one could possibly learn out of this charade is to only buy tickets from the event organisers, its a lot of money for anyone to lose. Its so difficult to know who you can or cant trust online, especially when it involves our hard earned money.
Now the facts are CLEARLY out there, its time to concentrate on trying whatever means are neccaserry in getting your money back, as well as taking whatever measure is needed, to ensuring this never happens again.
I agree that tickets only ought to be sold by the organisers. AC/DC tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. on 20th October....I was on the 02 website at precisely 10 a.m., was re-directed to the ticketmaster website immediately but guess what? there were no tickets available and that was only a minute or so after 10! There was also a strict "2 tickets per person" limit by the way. They re-directed me to Get-me-In where tickets were (and still are) being sold for anything between £150-200+ with no limit to the number you can buy. No wonder genuine fans are forced to approach scum such as Paperticket where they were selling the tickets for £95 each. The question that arises in my mind is: are the venues and the ticket touts in cohoots, perchance?0 -

A HODDESDON man appeared before magistrates today (Wednesday October 29) charged with fraudulently selling tickets for Premier League, FA and UEFA football matches.
A summons had been issued against John Koukoullis, 37, of Birchwood, Briscoe Road, Hoddesdon, relating to 15 charges under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act (CJPO) Act, of selling tickets for the football organisations without authorisation.
At a hearing today at Hertford Magistrates' Court, 15 further charges were added against Koukoullis, trading as www.paperticket.co.uk and www.thefootballticketshop.com, under the Fraud Act.
Primetime Events and Hospitality Ltd, also trading as www.paperticket.co.uk from Sucklings Yard in Ware, was charged with seven offences under the CJPO Act and seven fraud offences.
In both cases, the fraud allegations relate to appearing to be authorised sellers of tickets.
Magistrates ordered bail conditions on Koukoullis, who has dual UK and US nationality, requiring him to surrender both passports and to stay at his Hoddesdon address. The hearing was adjourned until January 7 next year.0 -
