  • Getting back to Paperticket, I have found a link to yahoo answers on the subject : http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080706125717AAWOzhD

The one answer the girl got was from a Portmouth fan who used them for FA Cup final tickets, so I looked into that and found a long thread on a football forum concerning paperticket, as you will see some people got their tickets, some even got refunds.. so there is hope!

Hope after reading it people are less worried about getting their tickets..

Hi, I'm new to the site.

Found this thread whilst doing a search for paperticket.

I ordered 2 tickets for Russell Brand through the site a couple of days ago. I immediately got a confirmation email telling me that my order for 4  tickets was successful and I was going to pay £145! I thought there must have been an admin error so emailed them straight away. Then the doubt about the integrity of the compnay sank in, and in a panic I cancelled my bank card so no money could be taken from that account.

Reading all about them, I am glad that all I have to do is wait a couple of days for a new cash card, rather than fight for refunds etc.

If payments haven't been taken from your account yet, I would suggest you doing the same. Inconvenient at the time, but better in the long run.

    Thanks

Phew.....I ordered AC/DC tickets this morning from Paperticket...then got in a real flap when i discovered the news on their scams. I quickly took your advice and cancelled my debit card (as payment hadn't yet been taken)
    Panic over !!
    Many, Many Thanx

I paid for them by credit card...can't cancel the card as my husband is principal card holder and the tickets were supposed to be a surprise. Came across a different thread re paperticket with contact phone number. This turns out to be a mobile which is switched off...also their website's down. Don't know what to do:eek:

After not being able to get onto the paperticket website for hours finally managed to log on to find a message saying any enquiries should be directed to Consumer Direct. I immediately phoned them up and they informed me that this company (paperticket) has ceased trading therefore I would not be able to claim my money back. However, if I paid by credit card (which I did) I may be able to get the money back from them. Next port of call the credit card company.....will keep you posted!!

Good luck everyone in getting your money back, I only pray its not too late for those who hesitated. Those who still haven't, due to the "wait and see" advice given on here ...for god sake DO IT NOW!!!!!!!

Well, for me at least, the worry is over. I had to come clean and tell my husband what I had done and he got the credit card company to cancel our cards. Thankfully, no request for payment had gone through but I'm left with a lot of egg on my face and (sob) no AC/DC tickets!! Good luck all in getting your money back...it just goes to show you that you shouldn't trust the recommended links on Google.

I dont know where you got the "wait and see" remark from,marleyboy.. I guess your one of those lazy readers who just scan over things without actually taking-in everything thats been said, because no one gave anyone such advice on this thead. Its easy for you to say "I told you so" but in actaul fact you offered no evidence, past experience or explanation to back-up why you posted your comment. The whole point of this thread was to get some real facts about paperticket to see how much of a risk we were really taking, and in the process many people have avoided losing money.. not because of short posts that say stuff like "they are scammers, cancel your card!" but by weighing up all the information this thread provided. Its true I adopted a wait and see approach (but advised NO ONE to do likewise!) and I will probably lose my £40, but if the price of that £40 is preventing others from losing hundreds more, then it was £40 I am happy to lose, I can honestly say I gave hours & hours of time in research for this thread and to help others not make the same mistake I did, perhaps my £40 too... what did you contribute? ......................................................Exactly!

Thank you for keeping us all upto speed by confirming paperticket have indeed stopped trading and sharing your experiences with us... Now that we've all seen that we can now approach our banks and give-up any hope of getting our tickets. In researching Paperticket.co.uk I found an email address of a woman working for Meridian TV who was looking into Paperticket and emailed her giving her the link to this thread and others I found to help her investigation, she may or may not have needed it,as it it seems unwanted attention stemming from forums like this could've perhaps help spill the beans on paperticket's dodgy dealings. For a lot of us it may be too late or mean weeks & monthts of sweating it out, but if Paperticket had been allowed to continue there apparent strategy of providing just enough tickets to stay under the Fraud squad's radar, then many more people would've continued using them and a s result lost their money.Hopefully as a result of high profile cases there is a shake-up of how tickets are sold in future. Its clear the reason many concerts/gigs or other events sell out so quick is because touts (online or otherwise) snap loads up within minutes. If that gets addressed we may find it easier to get tickets direct and not have to take a risk with these dodgy people.Would appreciate people's progress with trying to get money back from banks and which of the various cards they used, as it does have a bearing on how easy/difficult it is to get your money back.

How Ironic you single yourself out to my post, I cant say I HAVE contributed anything, neither have I lost anything, so in contributions, your contribution is what?.................................Exactly, lets leave it at that eh :)

erm.... starting a thread which thousands have looked at and many of them deciding to stay clear of paperticket,perhaps...?

[How Ironic you single yourself out to my post] you said, well since I started it, I would hate to think the impression was I (or the thread) was giving anyone advice to "wait and see", or any other advice, the idea was to get as much FACTS as possible and let people decide for themselves.

But I must apoligize for my petty statement, as you did advise people to act and those who did saved themselves a lot of hassle, so on behalf of those people and the thread, I'd like to thank you.

I would feel responsable if anyone lost money because of following me with the wait and see approach, an perhaps overly sensitive about it.

Once again, my apoligies and thanks.
