Paperticket..Good or Bad ???

With the many ticket tout sites kicking about and the more well-documented scams that have went on I think there is a need for all information and accounts of customers experiences,Good or Bad of specific sites. There are various threads going on which cover the subject generally but dont give enough about a specific site people have just used. I have recently used Paperticket and see others have too, so lets have a real look at their track record using the most reliable source, music fans or anyone else who's used their service.

    Just stick to these:

    See Tickets - https://www.seetickets.com
    Ticketmaster - https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk
    Ticket Web - https://www.ticketweb.co.uk

And you won't get ripped off. I would never order from anything other than them unless its a lesser known band which are using a small ticket agency.

I usually buy direct from the venue but Kings of Leon's UK tour tour sold-out in days, removing the option of travelling to another city to see them.

I obviously got desperate and turned to paperticket

I am looking for people who have used them to compare results
  • Hi, I purchased tickets today for Kings of Leon through paperticket. I got desperate and am regretting it now after i received the confirmation of order and decided to do some research. Cant find a contact number anywhere. How have you been getting on with them? Any positive news?
  • Same as you... paid for a second ticket then found all this talk of them being dodgy... as for news, I can only wait till the banks open, check if they have took the money yet and more importantly, check how much they have took.

To be honest I am still holding onto the hope that it'll be fine, which is why I posted this thread. They are mentioned in the summerfestivals thread but someone makes the good point that for all the tickets they sell, there doesn't seem to be loads & loads of complaints..

I wrote an email to them as there is no number but stopped short of actually sending it, as I said I am still holding onto the hope that I'll get my tickets. Feel kinda stupid and desperate to hear feed-back from people who've either been ripped-off or not...
  • Well, I'm another fool that got desperate. Bought 2 tickets for Russel Brand and only remembered it's probably a good idea to google it after I received an email that detailed I had not only bought these but 4 other tickets for another date and location! emailed them straight off to cancel it and will take it up with my bank as soon as any activity shows on my account.

It seems people have received tickets off them, but it sounds like it's usually off a dodgy type outside the venue just before the gig. They're basically touts who get your money before you've even got to the gig! And then there is no guarantee that they'll have found enough tickets to match the orders. Stay away!
  • Well in terms of any news, I have just spoken to my bank and there has been no activity on my card, not from paperticket or anyone else.

In regards to the conformation email, mines were for the correct ammount but how much they actually take is yet to be seen.

The bank are saying to keep an eye on my account and check that they take the correct ammount from it. If they take extra I can then get the bank involved, apart from that I have to just wait. That is if I dont get the tickets, then I can inform the bank.

Something tells me paperticket are aware of this and rely on the fact that people have to sweat it out untill the day of the event.I dont feel too good about this at all, I must admit.

That being said, as it stands and based on what evidence provided by this forum & elsewere I am unable to say for sure that paperticket are scammers, it seems they do use a network of dodgy touts and provide a shoddy service. If thats all thats wrong with them I will be happy. Really need more information.

So, once again people, please share your experiences of dealing with this site with me and everyone else, your contributions and time will no doubt help lots of other people who realise too late that these sites have dodgy reputations.
  • hey, i did the same and got dead excited about k.o.l tickets available for £35.00. as of yet i haven't actually had any confirmation of sucessful payment detail (says on website you'll recieve a confirmation reciept). haven't read AWFUL things after looking through on paperticket but haven't found great things either. but i would have thought if it was a massive scam there would be way more people posting stuff about them. anyway i'm holding out hope and have emailed them asking for confirmation just to get a bit of contact as i'm a bit worried. will let you know :)
  • So, I got an email today with an 'AllCharge' logo on it. Evidently that's the credit card company they use. And it said £65. Great I thought,
at least I'm not going to get overcharged for the tickets I may or may not get! But lo and behold there's another email with a bill of 125 on it! I'm going to email them again to try and cancel the transaction for at least the 125 bill as I made no such order! Utterly ridiculous! I'll try and cancel the other one too as the gg isn't close to where I live and I can't wait til the last minute to make sleeping or travel arrangements!

I'll keep you posted on any developments.
  • No Way ! That sucks!

I got one of those emails too.. thankfully all is well with amount(although I've still to recieve the 2nd one). I went on their website & looked into them some.. yeah they are an online payment company, which shows paperticket could be simply operating from someone's bedroom !

I hope you get some sort of reply from paperticket and get this resolved... how long do you have.. I mean when is the show..?
