  • So, recently we've had a good stuffed cabbage recipe from Generali....Pasture's is looking for bread reecipes. What other new recipes has anyone to share?

Hazelnut merangues (sp?) Make as usual, but add finely-chopped roasted hazelnuts just before you pipe them.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

I tried a new recipe posted on here yesterday and it made me sick and left a bad taste in my mouth.
Some people seemed to like it but it was clearly off.;)
I think it was removed in the end, hopefully a better version will be posted soon.

DH loves meringues, thats a nice idea for any spare egg whites saving the need to freeze them or forget about them. very moneysaving! The other great thing about meringues of course, is the last very well in air tight storage.

Are sausages rolled in whole grain mustard and honey hopelessly passe nowadays? I'm having to prepare and indoor/outdoor function for fireworks night and I'm worried these might be a bit too predictable now.

But I keep on dishing it out to you and you keep coming back for more. NOW you say it leaves an nasty taste.

I think you might need some <<<hugs>>>, but b99r off because you don't get those here.
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?

Meringues (thanks for the spelling) are great if you make custard or something, to use up the whites, as you say.

I don't care if they are passe, the mustard and honey thing sounds lovely.

  • I can't add anything useful to the recipes.....but can I tell somebody this anecdotal....and it's about banks...

I was talking to an employee of the Halifax based at head office, last Friday, and said how sorry I was and hoped job ok etc.....He said 'There's nothing wrong at the Halifax, they are a sound business, they won't be closing the head office, I am not worrying'.

Now he could know something we don't... or it could be a breathtaking example of Kubler Ross 'Denial' in action.

Also we are being battered to death here in Yorkshire with job losses and potential job losses....we may become a vast Country Park (which is what most of the ex colliery sites now are). A x

p.s I wish Dudleyboy would post, I hope he hasn't got too upset. A x
    Don't believe everything you think.

Blessed are the cracked...for they are the ones who let in the light. A x

They're extra good if you sprinkle lightly toasted sesame seeds on top.

Ever tried home made salsa? It's amazing how much better it is than that rubbish in a jar.

    1 x tin tomatoes (drained)
    2 x limes
    4 x chillies (I like mine hot!)
    1 x pkt corriander

Basically mix together the juice from the limes with the other stuff chopped up, add a little salt and pepper (and sugar if it needs it). A little zest from one of the limes can help too.

Really simple but one of life's pleasures.
  • I think the thread should have been pulled a lot sooner. It reflected badly on us all.

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
