Then Dud retracted a good deal more graciously than you have accepted his retraction

You know full well that that I am concerned about people squealing to get things canned which they disagree with. Despite your snivelling and twisting, Dud had good grace to retract BECAUSE the thread was let run long enough for the counter argument to be put. This is about defending Dud's right to post, not about defending what he said

You actually come out of this with far less credit than the OP of the thread in question, because you can't put down your own grouchiness over something which the OP dealt with. So, Dud's post is retracted, no thanks to you. And it is gone, together with the most important part, the retraction because of the small minded minority who inhabit this place.

Time for you to shut up. I'll be that blunt, because you feel free to tell others to shut up.

Look at the top of the page he had no right to post what he did and to retract a comment after finding out other people finding it sick is not an act of graciousness.
Thinking of the poor people involved before posting would have been gracious.
You agreed with him that is why you had to start this post as you thought the comments were right admit it. You even tried wriggling out of thanking the posts today.

Fact or opinion on your part? And would you know the difference?

    Opinion in the end.
The mods agreed and deleted his post what do you want?
Did he say lets talk about the moral outcomes? no
He just wanted to gloat that a guy felt that bad he wanted to kill himself as he could not cope, the poor person could not see how it would affect the people he left or affected behind. (that is not funny at all)

How do you see suicide, please let me know.

Also I think more than a few people reported it.

PS I can see irony when their is irony to be seen. What was ironic in the post?

It is considerably more gracious than you are.

Evidence? Oops the dog ate it! Or the censorious few had the whole lot canned. You can't go around wanting a thread canned and then relying on it for evidence, that's hypocrisy.

If the post you complain of falls under any one of those categories and none of your posts today fall under the same category you are not the fool I think you are.

I have no problem with what I said. The guy was an idiot for posting it, and you should have shut up for defending it (in my opinion). As I said I would have done that in real life.

If you find that offensive don't cause offence (see that is irony).

PS Is this house prices not I hate the world? Non of this or the thread in question had F ALl to do with house prices!

I doubt that the mods made a statement of fact or of opinion on your contention: "
It was just to discredit another posters comment as they said they had suffered with depression and did not like the post."

Did he say lets talk about the moral outcomes? no

He just wanted to gloat that a guy felt that bad he wanted to kill himself as he could not cope, the poor person could not see how it would affect the people he left or affected behind. (that is not funny at all)

And you are still going on about it long long after he retracted. The moral outcome is that Dud retracted. What do you want? Do you want Dud to throw himself in front of a train to satisfy your sense of moral outrage?

How do you see suicide, please let me know.
Just google on the term "one under" [if you don't already know what it means] - that is my closest contact with suicide, fortunately not directly myself, but unfortunately through many colleagues.
Also I think more than a few people reported it.
So morality is determined by sheer weight of numbers? [Do we invoke godwin here?]

Well I know people who have suffered with depression (my mom for one and my mother-in-law). I have never met one who takes glee in other people giving in to their dark thoughts (as they feel suicidal some times)

Thats interesting. Three people similarly close to me are depressives (different types of depression) and all three would twist the knife when subjected to their illness often going for the maximum pain and ugliness than they can create. I suggest my experience might not be representational. I don't know and don't presume to generalise.

Please will you stop being so offensive. Many of my friends are idiots, and it causes them, and me, great suffering and embarassment.

Also, there is no need to swear to get your point across. You have cheated the obscenity checker, which is a pretty rotten trick to play, and offended me and my idiot friends.

I will not go running to the mods like some sneaky kid who nobody likes, but I would be pleased if you could be considerate with both your foul language and your equally foul behaviour in future.

    Thanks.

Apprarently the moral high ground allows a poster to use a bigger font.

I'm very much in favour of free speach and not in that terrible pc - 'You have freedom of speach as long as you don't say stuff I don't like' way. Voltaire and all that "I may not agree with what you say" stuff. But........

This is a private website in that it is privately owned. That ownership allows the owner to do as he or she wishes which in this case is to censor what is written on the boards.

There are plenty of bulletin boards that tolerate or even encourage these sorts of posts. If there isn't one to your taste you can set one up cheaply and easily. FWIW, I find that stuff is pulled from these boards on the basis that someone else complained. I find that pretty poor but I put up with it because I like it round here.

How does all this relate to house prices again?

I think the main thing is there is freedom of speech on the boards as long as you stick to the rules the poster did not and people found it distasteful so they used their freedom of speech to complain.
Why don't you send the mods an email if it is a problem?

It’s a poor attempt to drum up support for distasteful posts. Why would you want them?
